  1. I ran simulations with trades and Cleveland would be the most likely to trade up for Luck. Here's why Indy should at least entertain the idea of a trade: Round Pick Team Selection Psn School CRI Delta ReachValue 1 1 Cleveland Andrew Luck QB Stanford P1 +0 Value 1 7 Indianapolis Dre Kirkpatrick CB Alabama P2 -4 Reach 2 34 Indianapolis Landry Jones QB Oklahoma P3 +0 Value 2 40 Indianapolis Alameda Ta'amu DT43 Washington P3 +0 Value 3 65 Indianapolis Andrew Datko OT Florida State P3 -11 Reach 3 71 Indianapolis Ben Jones OC Georgia P3R -17 Reach 4 97 Indianapolis Barrett Jones OG Alabama P3R -28 Reach That's a hefty makeover in 6 positions of need for Indy. 2. You'll like who DraftTek's computer picked for the Bills in RD#2! Astro
  3. Thanks all. It looks like more of us want OLB34 pass rusher, but that WR/LT/CB/QB are important. Will submit these prefs to DraftTek. Astro
  4. http://www.drafttek.com/teamneeds2012.asp The above positional needs drive which players are selected by DraftTek's computer. It's given us Courtney Upshaw the last 2 times. As you can see, we have OLB34 listed as our P1 need (you can only have one P1 need). Would you change any other need? Explanation of P1, P2, P3, P4, P6, and P9 is here Questions: 1. Is featured wide receiver (WRF) a top need? I have it as P2, or second-tier just under OLB. Is it higher than QB, which I have as P3? 2. Is LT really a P2 need and RT a P4 need? 3. Is CB a P2 need or a P3? Would you take a second OLB before taking a CB?
  5. Really like Fuller and Kruger selections, and I like the selection of OT later on. Some mocks show us taking OT as early as RD1, and I just don't think that's going to happen. Happy New Year! -Astro
  6. Blackmon. Immediate threat, makes Stevie and Nelson better. RG3 is very good but he'd need 2 years. All that said, we don't have a Top 5 pick this year, so this is moot. After tomorrow's win, we'll draft#14. Watch Whitney Mercilus today for Illinois 3:30 on ESPN and compare him to Upshaw.
  7. Here's a Google Spreadsheet of today's games, who to watch, and where we think they'll be picked (and by whom!): http://bit.ly/szQRzy Astro
  8. I'll chat with the Big Cheese and see what the scoop is. I know they have been culling the crop as juniors declare that they're going back to school. I'll get back to you. I liked him too. Astro
  9. We robots can post while doing complex tasks. Like right now, I am posting while listening to Bela Fleck and ignoring the grandkids, which is very complex.
  10. From DraftTek's Simulator, including Round, Pick # and Team Drafting Them: CALIFORNIA 4 117 Cincinnati Trevor Guyton DE43 6 188 Pittsburgh Mychal Kendricks ILB 7 221 San Francisco Mitchell Schwartz OT TEXAS 3 75 San Diego Alex Okafor OLB34 3 91 Baltimore Keenan Robinson ILB 4 102 Carolina Kheeston Randall DT43 5 139 Arizona Emmanuel Acho ILB
  11. Great Post! Our O-line is deep enough to ignore in this year's draft. There, I said it.
  12. And DraftTek has the Bills taking Upshaw. Read my comments here: http://www.drafttek.com/CMDRound1.asp Astro
  13. I'd have no problem with the Bills taking 2 OLB's, although I do think Batten is the real deal. Kruger is a particularly good value. I'd have no problem with the Bills taking 2 OLB's, although I do think Batten is the real deal. Kruger is a particularly good value.
  14. 5 152 Detroit James-Michael Johnson ILB Johnson: Here's the guy to watch. Johnson plays for Nevada and would be Sheppard's backup if we can land him in RD5.
  15. Thanks, Ye Ole. I think Kellen Moore, for example, would make a better NFL QB than Dennis Dixon.
  16. Their d-line is kicking keister statistically. Their DE's are 1-2 in sacks and TFL.
  17. 8pm ESPN ASU (Current Round and Pick in DraftTek Simulator) 1 16 Vontaze Burfict ILB 5 150 Omar Bolden CB 6 165 Brock Osweiler QB BOISE 2 36 Billy Winn DE43 3 84 Nate Potter OT 4 106 Kellen Moore QB 5 134 Doug Martin RBF 5 143 Shea McClellin DE43 5 155 George Iloka FS The steals for the Bills here would be Martin and Iloka. Martin is one of 4 running backs in the draft that can actually pick up a block. Iloka is a savvy but hard-hitting player. I like Moore, and he'd be a steal in RD4, but I think he'll start moving up to RD2-3. I don't see the Bills taking a QB in RD 1 or 2. I don't think Burfict is a Bills-type player (he is the antithesis of "don't be dumb, don't be dirty".
  18. Some notes on Vinny Curry (#99), who held his own against Dontari Poe (NT) this year: -Lining up at both DE positions. -Handled by TE, with OT there to help – caught off-guard due to play-action. -Super quick off the ball. -Pancaked by crack-back, also offside on play. -Cut by OT multiple times, seems to be the new way to slow Curry the last few games. -Tracks the ball well, scrapes down the line and assists on the tackle. -Good push on option play, sheds block and forces the play out. -Getting a little high out of his stance, giving the OL a big target. -Knocked backwards by RT on run play. -Keys on fullback, caught inside on run to the outside at goal-line. -Not getting pressure early, doubled at times. -Creates some push and blocks extra point. -Showing good discipline, not over-reacting to plays and staying on his assignment. -Slips inside once OL stops moving his feet, gets some pressure on QB. -Good read, react, and tackle on zone read. -Tracks the ball well, makes the tackle at the line of scrimmage. -Sudden quickness at the snap of the ball, but got a bit too high and didn’t get enough push. -Pushes the RT back into the option lane, blows up the play. -LT misses assignment, Curry obliterates the RB for a loss. -Controls lineman with one arm while tackling RB with another two plays later. -Nice swim-move, flushes the QB into pressure. -Shows off power, pushing RT back into the option lane again. Much better pad level. -Good twist and rip, gets pressure in the QB’s face. -Flashed his skills at times, but this was the 2nd below-par game in a row for Curry.
  19. FIU plays Marshall tonight, and a player I'll be watching is Vinny Curry. Right now, Curry would be a possible 2nd RD OLB34, in case you wanted to take someone else in RD1 (RG3? Floyd? Calayborne? Reiff?).
  20. I for one am glad you posted this. I forwarded the info to my boss at DraftTek so we can update the simulator. Thanks! Astro
  21. The Great Escape. I'm making a Gingerbread Castle with my Texas grandchildren, turning the page on yesterday's loss.
  22. We have Case Keenum ranked #18 among the QB's we think will come out. We have him as a RD7 or UDFA. That said, I like Keenum better than Darron Thomas of Oregon, but not as much as Kirk Cousins of Michigan State and Boise State's Kellen Moore. The simulator often picks Moore in RD4 for the Bills.
  23. Jarron Gilbert can jump out of the pool when Jasper jumps in. Gilbert's 4.82 40-time was the best among defensive linemen at the 2009 Scouting Combine, and his TFL's were tied with Travis LaBoy in his conference. The knock on him was that he'd played so many DL positions that he was a jack of all trades, master of none.
