  1. I ran a simulation and am showing the section of the draft that Kirkpatrick's Oops will likely effect. Lots of teams take CB's early: San Diego, Dallas, Cincy, and Detroit. My guess is Cincy considers the dropoff in ability between Janoris Jenkins and Dre Kirkpatrick to be too great, and Cincy takes him at #21. 1 15 San Diego Dre Kirkpatrick CB Alabama P3O +3 Value 1 16 Chicago David DeCastro OG Stanford P3 +1 Value 1 17 Tennessee Quinton Coples DE43 North Carolina P1 +9 Value 1 18 Dallas Alfonzo Dennard CB Nebraska P2 +0 Value 1 19 NY Jets Juron Criner WRF Arizona P3R -9 Reach 1 20 Denver Mark Barron SS Alabama P3 -1 Reach 1 21 Cincinnati Janoris Jenkins CB North Alabama P1 -6 Reach 1 22 NY Giants Don'ta Hightower ILB Alabama P3 +0 Value 1 23 Cincinnati Peter Konz OG Wisconsin P2 -2 Reach 1 24 Cleveland Whitney Mercilus DE43 Illinois P3 +5 Value 1 25 Houston Jonathan Martin OT Stanford P3 +5 Value 1 26 Detroit Chase Minnifield CB Virginia P3 -7 Reach
  2. Coples is the best 4-3 DE, and can be used as a 3-4 DE with very little falloff. We have him hereat #11. Devon Still is a great 4-3 DT, and drops to RD3 as a DE 3-4. We have him at #7 as a 4-3 DT, but dropping 59 slots if he's a 3-4 DE. Mercilus is now at #17 as a 4-3 DE, and only drops 10 slots if he's a OLB34.
  3. Yeah, and the Bills will trade into that spot and take Dread KirkPOTrick.
  4. We were talking on the DraftTek board about how far he'll fall on the Big Board. I'd like your opinions. My thoughts are that he now drops to the #28-42 range, below Dennard for sure and maybe below Janoris Jenkins and Minnifield. We've also changed 57 players who have decided to return to college and avoid the No Fun League.
  5. If I'm the Rams GM, here's what I do: I go line, line, line in the draft. 1-Matt Kalil OT USC 2-Brandon Thompson DT43 Clemson 3-Bobby Massie OT Mississippi 4-Tavarres King WRF Georgia 5-no pick 6-Jamell Fleming CB Oklahoma 7-David Molk OC Michigan I'd likely go after an outside linebacker, cornerback, and maybe a safety in FA.
  6. Agreed. Under no conditions should we be thinking about RB before RD5 this year or any other year. This year the RB's I like are Isaiah Pead (Cincinnati), or Cyrus Gray (Texas A&M), either of whom would be our 5th round pick. Pead is one of the 4 best RB's at picking up a blitz IMHO (one of the others being Trent Richardson). My other late round RB steal is Tauren Poole (Tennessee), who gained 140 yards against Oregon last year--In the first half. He can catch the ball well. Don't know about SMU junior Zach Line declaring yet, but he trails only Eric Dickerson in yards in one season and had a 6.1 ypc against the likes of TCU, ECU, Texas A&M, and Pittsburgh. He's in our mocks at RD6.
  7. 1-Quinton Coples DE43, Dre Kirkpatrick CB, Don'ta Hightower ILB, Zach Brown OLB43 2-Kwame Geathers DT34, Bruce Irvin OLB34, Emmanuel Acho OLB43, Cam Johnson DE43, Jayron Hosley CB 3-Brandon Lindsey OLB34, Lavonte David OLB43, Jerel Worthy DT43, Fletcher Cox DE34 4-Jonathan Massaquoi OLB34, Leonard Johnson CB, Casey Hayward CB, Hebron Fangupo DT34 4-Omar Bolden CB, Baker Steinkuhler DE34, Tank Carder OLB43, Eddie Whitley FS, Cliff Harris CB 5-George Iloka FS, Malik Jackson OLB34, Jack Crawford DE43, Ryan Steed CB, Nigel Bradham OLB43 6-Keith Tandy CB, Izaan Cross DE34, Derek Wolfe DE34, Chris Galippo ILB 7-Tyler Hoover DE34, DeAngelo Tyson DT43, Jacquies Smith OLB34 Some explanation: 1-I'm taking Coples over Kirkpatrick by a nose. Coples can play DE34 or DE43 with no dropoff. 2-I love Kwame Geathers, and could see Williams-Dareus-Geathers-Coples as a dominant 4-3 line. 3-'Stache might take Lavonte David, though he's more of a 4-3 and small. But he's always on the ball. 4-Like the name Hebron Fangupo? Best name this year. Bolden's ACL injury drops him to here, RD1-2 otherwise. 5-I like George Iloka; he's a Boise guy I've seen a lot of this year.
  8. Love your 7th Round pick, BB. If Bryan can block like he can catch, he and Egnew would bring TE-ball to Buffalo! http://rivals.yahoo.com/video/college-football/Video-highlights-Tight-end-George-Bryan-734425
  9. 1-Michael Floyd WR, Mike Adams OT, Brandon Weeden QB, A.J. Jenkins WRF 2-Nick Toon WR, Dwayne Allen TE, LaMichael James RB 3-Jeff Allen OT Tyler Eifert TE Ben Jones OC 4-Michael Egnew TE 4-Kellen Moore QB, Russell Wilson QB 5-Isaiah Pead RB, EJ Manuel QB, Markus Zucevics OT, Bernard Pierce RB, Cyrus Gray RB Quinton Saulsberry OC 6-Marvin Jones WR, Justin Pugh OT, Ryan Lindley QB Tommy Streeter WR 7-Brian Linthicum TE, Jaymes Brooks OG, Tony Bergstrom OT, Matt Reynolds OT I've highlighted my choices. I want to do the same for an All-Defense Draft later today. Notes: Expiring offense contracts after the 2011 season: , TE, WR, OG, OT OG Chad Rinehart OG Kraig Urbik OT Demetrius Bell OT Erik Pears TE David Martin WR Felton Huggins WR Stevie Johnson WR Roscoe Parrish Expiring offense contracts after the 2012 season: OC, TE, WR, RB, FB, OG, OT FB Corey McIntyre OG Andy Levitre OT Mansfield Wrotto RB Fred Jackson TE Shawn Nelson WR Donald Jones WR David Nelson
  10. "Oh, you're a quarterback! I'm a robot. Brrrt brrrt."
  11. Teams that changed RB's from last year averaged 6 more wins this year. But you make a point. 2011 Pick 28, Mark Ingram, was picked by the Saints over BigUglies Carimi and Wilkerson. 2010 Pick 9, C.J. Spiller, was picked by the Bills over BigUglies Tyson Alualu and Anthony Davis. 2010 Pick 12, Ryan Mathews, by the Chargers over BigUglies Pierre-Paul, Derrick Morgan, Iupati, and Pouncey. 2009 Pick 12, Knowshon Moreno by the Broncos over BigUglies Orakpo, Ayers, and Wood. There will always be those of us that prefer BigUglies to RB's in the draft, I think.
  12. 1.Cam Newton 2.Calvin Johnson 3.Patrick Willis 4.Dareus 5.Gronk
  13. I'd be all over Spiderman. Hey, I think we need some LB help now that Stache has moved up. Git 'er done!
  14. Love the guy. I think he gets to about pick #42. Oh, is that the Bills' pick in RD2? Gilmore plays really well up in the bump and run style, which you'll see more of from the Bills. He communicates well both on and off the field, he's a playmaker with super INT skills, and he's scrappy, something I think the Bills are looking for in back. I like Boykin, too, who we have at #74 here. That's exactly at pick RD3 for the Bills! How 'bout 1-Upshaw 2-Gilmore 3-Boykin Astro
  15. We have Upshaw at #13 right now. http://www.drafttek.com/ We also have him as a 3-4 OLB, now even on our list of 4-3 LB's. Selecting Upshaw (or Mario Williams in FA) signals we're retaining the 3-4.
  16. Here's a good summary of OT's. Lions might need a couple!
  17. The Simulator uses the Big Board and the previous week's Team Needs given them via team analysts. On the Big Board (Revised January 8, 2012), notice the last column, Chg. That's the change from the previous Big Board (ten days ago, which I believe was before the South Carolina game). The talent guys that do the board aren't raising a guy's stock because he's "famous for being famous". A great place to discuss WHY a player is where he is, would be here at DraftTek's player comment forum. Astro
  18. Alshon Jeffrey was already picked at #10, so therefore we can't have him in this scenario. I've submitted your question to LongBall at DraftTek, who handles the Big Uglies (that sounds bad)...Please continue to hold....
  19. Done. People can change their vote if they want. Hit the blue "Delete My Vote" button below the poll.
  20. In a heartbeat. Reiff is #6 on our Big Board, and filled in for Bulaga without missing a beat. But I think Upshaw is going to end up at #9-#10 on the Big Board, supplanting Claiborne, Coples, Kuechly, and possibly Brandon Thompson. If both were guaranteed 10 years and 5 Pro Bowls, I take Upshaw.
  21. Your wish is granted. Simulator Bills trade this year's RD1, next year's RD1, and this year's earlier RD4 to move up 8 spots. RD1: Robert Griffin QB Baylor RD2: Kendall Wright WRS Baylor (or Dwight Jones WRF North Carolina) RD3: Andre Branch OLB34 Clemson RD4: Tom Compton OT South Dakota RD5: Cliff Harris CB Oregon RD6: Terrance Ganaway RBF Baylor (or Ryan Van Bergen DE34 Michigan) RD7: D'Angelo McCray DT34 Memphis
  22. I'm using our Consensus Mock Draftas the source for today's entertainment. Make your picks from four need picks that were available at the Bills' #10, #42, and #74. I'd really like your comments, although your votes will let me do the positional rankings for our next mock. The last selection in RD3 is a CB, but Brandon Boykin and Donnie Fletcher are both there. I made the choice into one pick. Boykin has been more of a playmaker; Fletcher's bigger and IMHO a harder hitter. Astro
