  1. I am using DraftTek's Mock Draft, which factored in all signings up through today's blockbuster! Here's who the computer picked for each team, based on that team analyst's Positional Needs: 1-Luck 2-RG3 3-Matt Kalil 4-Trent Richardson 5-Morris Claiborne 6-Justin Blackmon 7-Riley Reiff 8-Michael Floyd 9-Fletcher Cox 10-???? Who do you like for the Bills? MULTIPLE CHOICES ALLOWED. If you don't see a player, he's probably a RB, or still available in RD2! Highest vote by tomorrow 6pm EST wins, and we go to RD2#42. You're on the Clock.

  3. DraftTek has redone its Mock Draft based on this signing. I've switched Positional Needs so that OLB=P2, CB=P2, and LT=P2. This picks the BPA among those positions at RD1#10. Would love to get your feedback.
  4. A guy who calls himself The real Sports Jam is saying 7yrs $110M with a $49M signing bonus!! A guy who calls himself The real Sports Jam is saying 7yrs $110M with a $49M signing bonus!!
  5. Michael Lombardi: "Barring any last minute offers it looks like Mario Williams destination is Buffalo" 5:46pm
  6. They will have enough cap space for Ben Dover.
  7. Nix said this very thing in so many words. Only 2 players I think of in that context are Ingram (6'2", short arms) and Upshaw (6'1") from the draft and Mathis in FA. Cordarro Law is also 6'2".
  8. WR is the deepest position in this draft. There are value picks as deep as 7th Round. Did we ever get a WR in the 7th Round? Let me see...
  9. LOL!!! Just for the record, that was BLECCCCH-er Report. The reason that DraftTek mocks are different is that the process is unbiased. Full-time experts create their own Big Board without input from fan sites. Thirty-two Team Analysts input their own team's Positional Needs. Then a computer, with a defined "Reach" to ignore players on the Big Board more than 15 slots down, makes the choices. This makes it unique, and it allows us to make mocks daily if need be. We won't look like the mocks where one guy professes to know all 32 teams, their schemes, and (obviously from BLECCCCH-er Report) who's been signed. I report to TBD to generate discussion and to further refine our team's Positional Needs. While I have thick skin and need your opinions, nobody appreciates opinions without facts. "If it's different, it's wrong" doesn't fly with me. Astro
  10. I'm putting a GRAB in for Vinny Curry next time, but don't you think Mario Williams and Ingram will be enough???
  11. The computer has picked Upshaw, Floyd or Ingram each week. I think the WR comes to us via FA. Here are the 5 WR's as per the Bills website. Of those, Colston 6'4", 225 and VJax 6'5" 230 fill the big receiver mold that Nix is looking for.
  12. Tannehill and Stephon Gilmore are pick #42 and #43 in DraftTek's next mock draft. If that's the choice, I'd take Gilmore in the blink of an eye. Tannehill is 2 years away from starting in the NFL, while Gilmore is slightly superior to Williams in ability. Byrd-Searcy-Williams-Gilmore back there will be among the elite.
  13. They're pretty clear: The above statement eliminates Andre Branch, Fletcher Cox, and Cam Johnson, for instance.
  14. Agree about Wanny. He has a vision of what the DE43 is, and what the OLB's do. The DE is Ingram, and the OLB is a speedy sideline to sideline player like Curry, Ronnell Lewis, Davis, Irvin, or Lavonte David.
  15. Pats* are the media's pick for MW. That'll be pleasant. Actually, I'd actually pay $12m over the first 2 years just to see Marsha deal with Williams Williams Dareus Ingram.
  16. Okay, here we go: Falcons willing to offer #MarioWilliams $105 mil, 7 years with 35 mil guaranteed. Cap hits in the 1st 2 yrs at 10 mil each. Interested? Becausehere's a list of teams who want MW. Abraham says he's looking for $10 mil a year.
  17. More like $10M. http://atlanta.sbnation.com/atlanta-falcons/2012/2/25/2823551/john-abraham-nfl-free-agency
  18. Given that Williams WILL get the most lucrative contract for a defensive player, I hope the Bills realize that Williams has been hurt each of the past two seasons, playing a total of 18 games. I hope they realize that they will be robbing Peter to pay Paul. There will be nothing left for depth, Freddie, Bell, a #2 WR, etc.
  19. Nor do I. Let's take this scenario. The Bills take a DE in RD1, 2, 3, or even 4 (Ingram, Curry, Bequette, Guyton). Nix is saying he's not wild about the pass rush value in the Top Third of the first round, so take him at his word; he does likes some of these guys in the middle rounds. But I want a veteran in here for 2 years to teach as well as play while they're learning.
  20. Is breaking the bank for Mario the best idea? Williams was not given the franchise tag by Houston due to Connor Barwin's emergence (11.5 sacks), Antonio Smith and JJ Watt's emergence (6.5 and 5.5 sacks), the increased role of Cushing and Brooks Reed in a blitzing style, and how close the Texans are to their salary cap. But Williams missed 11 of 16 games last season with a torn pectoral muscle. Consider a 2-year replacement in John Abraham while our draft picks ramp up. Here's how JA and MW stack up: 2008-Abraham had 12 games better than +1.0 by Pro Football Focus, who examine every play. Williams had 6. 2009-Abraham had 9 games better than +1.0 by Pro Football Focus, Williams had 4. 2010-Abraham had 10 games better than +1.0 by Pro Football Focus, Williams had 5. 2011-Abraham had 10 games better than +1.0 by Pro Football Focus, Williams had 3. Abraham played 690 snaps and led his team with 9.5 sacks last season (Dareus-like numbers). Williams played 225 snaps and trailed his line with 5.0 sacks last season. Abraham played 46 games in the last 3 years, with 28 sacks (10. 16.5, 5, 13, and 9.5 over the last 5 years). Williams played 34 games in the last 3 years, with 23 sacks (14, 10, 9, 9, and 5 over the last 5 years). Seems that the player that's declining in performance is Williams, not Abraham.
  21. Huge signing. Because of it, I don't think you'll see TE in the draft before RD5, 2nd pick. I'd take Miami's Chase Ford there. Ford catches the ball well in traffic, Bunting loved him during Senior Bowl week (said "highlight catches during the East's second session: over and behind, on the sidelines, both feet in bounds-- a top-10 reel today"), he's 6'6" 245, can dive and make catches, and reminds us a little of Dallas Clark. Here is a video of Chase Ford before he transferred to Miami. He's #10:
