  1. We'll likely sign a late 3rd day RB so we have 4 in camp; Lennon Creer would be my top choice on Day 3.
  2. RD1-Jonathan Martin, LT RD2-Alshon Jeffery, WR RD3-Ronnell Lewis, OLB RD4-Brock Osweiler, QB RD4-Josh Norman, CB RD5-Nate Potter, LT Boise State RD5-Demario Davis OLB Arkansas State RD6-Andrew Datko RT Florida State RD7- Will you take a TE? Backup Center? a WR since it's a deep draft for them? Rotational DT? Safety backup? You're on the clock.
  3. Kuechly's speed (and his shuttle time) means he can play OLB very well or play ILB if Shep gets hurt. I still maintain this is one of the players on Nix's short list.
  4. Dear LynchMob, The order is correct. The Bills will draft #10, #42, #74, #105, #124, #137, #139, #169, and #199. Morrison's role, unless I miss my guess, will be backup. Watch for at least 2 more in the draft. I don't make the picks; the computer makes the picks for all 32 teams, using all of our positional needs (currently, LT, WR, CB and OLB43 are all set to P2, which gives us the BPA. The "Reach" is currently set at 15, which means the computer won't reach down DraftTek's BigBoard more than 15 slots. The computer will take the player with the least reach from the P2's, and if there is none, moves to P3, and so on. I can make a GRAB for any player I want but it defeats the purpose of DraftTek, IMHO.
  5. Here is a great evaulation of the Big Uglies. DraftTek's LongBall writes this every year, and it is always spot-on. Enjoy. http://www.drafttek.com/2012-NFL-Draft-Left-Offensive-Tackle-Review.asp
  6. Here's more info than you need about the two. I've done a lot of research on the two of them for DraftTek. Usually-forthright Buddy Nix said last month that he wants 1 or 2 WR’s in free agency or the draft, mentioning 6’5”, 235-lb. Calvin Johnson as the prototype. That’s good news; Nix won’t be trading picks for 6’1” Justin Blackmon, or trading back into the first for 5’10” Kendall Wright. Michael Floyd isn’t Megatron, but he’s big and athletic enough to out-jump and out-muscle defenders in the red zone. I’d be disappointed if the Bills didn’t consider Alshon Jeffery before opting for Floyd, but the taller, heavier Jeffery had fewer TD’s and a lower reception average over the last 2 years, and in 2011 had a lower yards-per-game average with half of Floyd’s 100 receptions. Floyd was the more consistent receiver over the last 3 years in receptions per game with 6.3, 6.1, and 7.7 to Jeffery’s 3.5, 6.3, and 3.8. Floyd’s character won’t exactly fit Gailey’s model (three alcohol-related charges since 2009, diva label). Floyd’s injury history is a risk, and Nix needs for this pick to provide a playoff difference. Still, if we don’t sign a WR in Free Agency who can gain separation, we’ll be drafting one in RD1-RD4, regardless of the Stevie Johnson signing. Some may question a WR at #10 after Stevie signed a 5-year contract this week. But who are your starting three WR’s? The two FA wideouts that are still not signed? The one with the heart ailment? The waterbug with the broken ankle? The wildcat guy that caught 4 passes over 9 yards? Nix said that signing SJ “doesn't mean we won't sign another receiver; and it doesn't mean we won't draft one.” I look for another WR to be drafted in this WR-deep year. Floyd’s a great start, though; he was one of the most dominant college WR’s even with subpar QB’s (28 TD’s in 30 games, 17 100-yard games). Floyd’s 4.42 forty won’t hurt him in gaining separation and his height and long arms will serve him well in the red zone.
  7. Would you think the best safety in this draft, Mark Barro, could cover AFC East TE's, and would you like to see him in play at #10? Or is it better to hurry the passer with our new pass rushers, draft Floyd, and play ball control on offense to try and outscore them?
  8. This is the scenario that nets us LT Mike Adams and OLB Zach Brown in RD1, and your choice in RD2: Vinny Curry DE43 Marshall Lavonte David OLB43 Nebraska Stephon Gilmore CB South Carolina Coby Fleener TE Stanford
  9. Great point! I just wrote my comments on the next DraftTek mock, and said this about our LB's (we select Lavonte David in RD2): "Axed DC George Edwards never utilized Kirk Morrison at weak-side OLB, and Kirk's penciled in to start there, but I want a faster, sideline-to-sideline player who can keep right with our AFC East Tight Ends. Enter Lavonte David, who has averaged 10+ tackles per game over the last two seasons. David's extremely effective on the road, matching instinct with athleticism to be where he needs to be to disrupt. He's the kind of <strong><a href="http://bit.ly/yduROu" target="_blank" > speedbacker Wannstache talks about.</a></strong>" Wannstedt needs fast linebackers, not the bigger 3-4 OLB's. We're set with Barnett and Shep, but I'm not comfortable with the depth at WLB. I'd love DE Trevor Guyton in RD5, though...
  10. You know your football, gonzo! I have both marked in red with "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!" as the projected round! I should add that on the team roster, there is only one LT listed--Hairston.
  11. Great point! Beginning to agree here. Make WR-CB pick at #10, and OLB-CB at #42. Kirkpatrick/Floyd then Lavonte David/Stephon Gilmore.
  12. No. Five things could happen, though. (1) Bell could re-sign and remain healthy for the second time in 5 seasons. (35% chance) (2) Reiff (a RT most of his career) could slide to the Bills, and he or Hairston becomes a good LT (50%) (3) Bills could move up and take Kalil. (5%) (4) Bills could draft David DeCastro and move existing Guard Pears or Levitre to tackle. (5%) (5) Bills could draft a 3rd or 4th round LT who makes good because of the line chemistry. (65%)
  13. Some of these are more likely RT's in the NFL, though. Datko's falling fast. Look here in Column 1. The number in parentheses is the slot at which we think he'll be taken. BTW, the one climbing up is Brandon Mosley.
  14. I hope we don't take Adams, who'd be the next available LT if J-ville takes Reiff at #7. We'd be over-reaching for him, and really over-reaching for Martin, who we have going #19 to Chicago (Martin is a good run-blocker but he'll need coaching for his footwork, in pass protection). Floyd is right there for the taking at #10. Who's there in later rounds? I think the Bills will wait until RD3 or 4 and take Tony Bergstrom at #74 or Nate Potter at RD4#105.
  15. One of the races here will be Kevin Koger against Hanna at TE. I like Koger, as he's had more in-line experience but can still catch. You might have seen this one-handed catch:
  16. RD1-Jonathan Martin, LT RD2-Alshon Jeffery, WR RD3-Ronnell Lewis, OLB RD4-Brock Osweiler, QB RD4-Josh Norman, CB RD5-Nate Potter, LT Boise State RD5-Demario Davis OLB Arkansas State Nice Offseason! With Mario Williams signed and the Pats' Mark Anderson in town, maybe our DE's are taken care of. But how are you feeling about Tight End? Right Tackle? depth at DT for inside pressure? A possession WR or a waterbug RB? A backup for Wood at Center? How about Dareus' sidekick at Alabama? Another Ivy League QB? You're on the clock. Astro
  17. love the guy, his sideline to sideline coverage, he's fearless, nonstop, and a good guy. Many teams will pass on him in the 2nd, I have him as our 3rd rounder but I admit he will be gone by then.
  18. Gilmore has been my RD2 pick frequently. He's Aaron Williams with better numbers. I'd be ecstatic if we took him at 42, disappointed if we wasted a #10 oa CB. Williams Gilmore would be the best tandem within 2 years.
  19. I like Cousins over Osweiler as well. Alshon doesn't. Get the separation that others do, but he catches in traffic like ...like... Sanu. OK, either of them are okay by me. By the way, Demario Davis lasting this long is insane in my sig I took him in RD3. I like Potter a lot, and Guyton. you see how deep the draft is for Mario's backups or Kelsay's replacement. One more name I'd want to mention is Maze. The Bills may take a waterbug to go deep if they let Parrish go. nix mentioned waterbugs last year.
  20. You've only picked half your guys, but you're doing very well! RD1-Jonathan Martin, LT RD2-Alshon Jeffery, WR RD3-Ronnell Lewis, OLB RD4-Brock Osweiler, QB RD4-Josh Norman, CB Highlights: You're on the Clock! Top two at 4:00pm EST Tuesday are our 5th rounders. Astro
  21. Agree. I'm lowering our positional need at WR to P4 for the next DraftTek mock. Check back around 7pm for a new mock reflecting the Manning signing, Matt Flynn to the Seahawks (This move effectively takes Seattle out of the QB hunt in regards to the 2012 NFL Draft), and effects of Miami pursuing Alex Smith on an early Ryan Tannehill and Brandon Weedon pick.
  22. and to the best of my knowledge Fuller checks out medically, right? I see him in mocks as low as RD6.
  23. good call on both. not sure if Tank should have returned for his senior year. we had him in 3rd round in a number of mocks.
  24. they would get Trent Richardson We would get Martin and Janoris Jenkins. it's fair.
