  1. I know that Tannehill (If he makes it past Miami), Cox (past Carolina), Barron, Kuechly and Gilmore would be bait. In order to get a team to move up, teams would have to perceive another team taking them before their pick. Ariz (at #13 with no RD2 pick), Cincy (at #17 and #22), Hous (at #26), Balt (at #29), Oakland (no pick til #95), KC (at #11), Pgh (at #24), and Wash (at 2 with no RD2 pick) all have a strong need for ILB this year, so that's why the Bills are in an enviable position to have Kuechly on the board at #10, with Cincy the likeliest suitor. A move from #10 to #17 could get the Bills a 2nd rounder.
  2. Totally agree. Because Miami would be likely to go outside the Top Ten for Tannehill, it would bring Cox-Gilmore to Buffalo.
  3. Kendricks could go in the early 2nd, and would be another piece of a trade-down in the first for the Bills. I'd love me Gilmore and Kendricks, with James Brown or Massie in RD2.
  4. Yep, I'm down to Kuechly (who they brought in last to 1BD) and Gilmore. They didn't bring in Floyd, and the last 2 years they did bring in the player they drafted in RD1. The only true LT's they brought in (save for Kalil; that ain't happening) might be there at #42 OR are trade-down pieces---Jonathan Martin (Kiper's pick for us at #42), Adams (due to Potgate), and James Brown from Troy.
  5. I'd be happy with Sanders at RD3, and you have stuck heavily with the SEC which Channix will do.
  6. My final mock: RD1--- LT Jonathan Martin-----Nix: "The best tackles in the league were drafted in the top 10" RD2--- LB/DE Bruce Irvin------in for a visit RD3--- WR Brian Quick---------in for a visit RD4--- CB Jamell Fleming------in for a visit RD4--- LB Tank Carder---------in for a visit RD5--- QB Russell Wilson------in for a visit RD5--- S De’Quan Menzie------in for a visit RD6--- DE Olivier Vernon------in for a visit RD7--- DT Travian Robertson---depth RD7--- Astro
  7. I was on DraftTek Radio last night, talking about our first 3 picks and the Bills' schedule: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/drafttek/2012/04/19/on-the-clock Starts at 82:00
  8. simulating your idea, the trade nets us Dwayne Allen, and lets us still get Kuechly: 15 Buffalo Luke Kuechly ILB Boston College 41 Buffalo Alshon Jeffery WRF South Carolina 71 Buffalo Brandon Mosley OT Auburn 88 Buffalo Dwayne Allen TE Clemson 105 Buffalo Reuben Randle WRF LSU 124 Buffalo Shaun Prater CB Iowa 144 Buffalo Emmanuel Acho OLB43 Texas 147 Buffalo Jarius Wright WRS Arkansas 178 Buffalo Olivier Vernon DE43 Miami (FL) 217 Buffalo Jacory Harris QB Miami (FL) 251 Buffalo Jamie Blatnick DE43 Oklahoma State
  9. I think we will see Hightower twice a year. But not 16 times a year.
  10. I think that exactly the RD that each of those players will be picked except McNutt, who'll likely go in RD3 now.
  11. I dislike the white box behind the numbers. A wavy Steel Curtain would have been better.
  12. Terrell Manning is Wanny's prototypical OLB and one guy I think we'll take. I'll take Wilson further down, like RD5 instead of backup S or CB. The D-Tek guys see him as a possession receiver, a Josh Reed. I DO disagree with the placement of Randle on the Big Board. He's going to Houston in RD1 or I'll eat my hat.
  13. Not for 4 slots. I did our 1 and 4 for their 1 and 3, and Grabbed Hill WR: 1 14 Buffalo Stephen Hill WR Georgia Tech (#1B receiver) 2 41 Buffalo Bobby Wagner LB Utah State 3 71 Buffalo Zebrie Sanders LT Florida State 3 81 Buffalo Dwayne Allen TE Clemson 4 124 Buffalo Shaun Prater CB Iowa 5 144 Buffalo Emmanuel Acho OLB43 Texas 5 147 Buffalo Jarius Wright WR Arkansas (speed receiver) 6 178 Buffalo Russell Wilson QB Wisconsin 7 217 Buffalo Dwight Jones WR North Carolina (possession receiver) 7 251 Buffalo James Carmon RT Mississippi State
  14. Actually I mentioned him in early March when he was a #42 pick on DraftTek's Mock Draft. I said: "The savvy, hard-hitting Gilmore is an excellent pick, one that might just trump Aaron Williams’ RD2 selection last year. Compared with Williams, Gilmore has more height (he’s 6’2” to Williams’ generous 6’0”), better speed (4.40 to 4.56), better blitz skills, and similar change of direction (3.94 shuttle to 4.07, and 6.61 to 6.72 in the 3-cone). This speedy duo of aggressive cornerbacks would rival most NFL teams, and under McGee’s tutelage, Williams-Gilmore could rival the Bills’ all-time CB tandems. As a returner, Gilmore would also be taught by McGee, with his NFL’s third-highest-yards-per-return. Say goodbye to Leodis, Corner (a FA anyway), and possibly even DrayFlo if this is the pick here. " Cash Knows Nix!
  15. The Hypothetical Situation: Buffalo is on the clock. Miami took Tannehill, so Seattle will go for DE. Dallas wants to leapfrog Seattle, and offers its RD3 and RD5 to Buffalo to switch. They take Coples. 1 10 Dallas Quinton Coples DE34 North Carolina The Bills draft: 1 14 Buffalo Luke Kuechly ILB/OLB Boston College (158 tackles as OLB; 16 tkl/gm career avg.) 2 41 Buffalo Jayron Hosley CB Virginia Tech (Janoris Jenkins was there too) 3 71 Buffalo Brandon Mosley OT Auburn 3 81 Buffalo Reuben Randle WRF LSU 4 105 Buffalo Dwayne Allen TE Clemson 4 124 Buffalo Terrell Manning OLB43 North Carolina State 5 144 Buffalo QSaulsberry OC Mississippi State 5 147 Buffalo Brandon Taylor SS LSU 5 152 Buffalo Ch Minnifield CB Virginia 6 178 Buffalo Tyler Nielsen ILB Iowa (backs up Sheppard, Chris White) 7 217 Buffalo Dwight Jones WRP North Carolina (possession receiver) 7 251 Buffalo James Carmon RT Mississippi State This report was produced using Draft Tek's Draft Simulator: http://www.DraftTek.com
  16. Yep. We have Hill going to Cleveland at their #22 (If Cleveland is the team at #22...I'd like to see a trade here... )
  17. Here is a good read on Reiff. I'd be happy with the pick--unless Kuechly is passed up for Reiff. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2012/4/11/2941885/an-iowans-perspective-on-reiff
  18. Didn't catch that. Neither did the NFL Chiefs Depth Chart! That only makes it more interesting between Chiefs and Dolphins!
  19. I'd be ecstatic with Floyd/David/Mosely. Potter maybe RD4? Late Round developmental LT's that will find a team (hopefully the Bills) are Jeff Adams and James Carmon, IMHO. Jeff Adams (OT Columbia) RD6 The fastest learner in Mobile shouldn't be any surprise--received an Ivy League education in college, but arrived to practices no more than an average Ivy League football player. On Monday, nearly everything I wrote about Adams was negative. He looked awkward in his stance, had no punch in pass protection and bent at the waste. However, it's important to remember this is the best coaching Adams has ever gotten and apparently he soaked it up like a sponge. He was stoning defenders in the Wednesday practice and looked like a solid mid-round developmental prospect. OT James Carmon: Mississippi State (6-6, 334) RD7 He’s not ready to play tackle in the NFL yet. However, when you look at his size, length, athleticism and upside, you have to think if he can continue to develop at the position he has the skill set to be an NFL lineman. And I’d certainly be willing to roll the dice on a talent like Carmon later in the draft. NFL Fits: Bills
  20. Interesting tidbits from this afternoon: Either Luck or RGIII will be a bust, according to history. On average, from '00-'09, there were 2.4 "start-able" QBs, 2.2 "backups" QBs drafted. Quite generous too. Source In just the last SIX drafts, 7 QBs drafted in the 6th/7th round have started, and 3(Flynn,Cassel, Fitzpatrick) are viewed as solid starters. Weeden and Cousins are tops in ball velocity. Only two QB's higher than Levi Brown in last 4 years.
  21. A couple of other things about Cordy Glenn. I think he's the guy Nix is talking about when he says they see a couple guys differently than other teams. --long arms --incredible balance --sits down into his block so bull rushes don't work If you want an excellent summary of Glenn, I really respect Long Ball's opinion here: http://www.bloggingtheboys.com/2012/4/10/2937556/dallas-cowboys-2012-draft-prospects-georgia-guard-tackle-cordy-glenn --Astro
