  1. Reading between the lines, that's a great list of qualities Pettine might be looking for in the draft: Sounds like RD1 Ogletree-Jarvis Jones-Mingo-Vaccaro-Milliner; RD2 Te'O (if he lasts)-Xavier Rhodes-Sylvester Williams; RD3 Logan Ryan CB late rounds: James Morris ILB man-cover skills versatile toughness great range excellent blitzer sub-4.4 great range
  2. This is fascinating. Thanks for sharing this. I don't know lots about CBD, so that part was very interesting. Have any experiments been done with cannabis helping Fibromyalgia or Rheumatoid Arthritis?
  3. I went through the same line of thinking. It was a vote between taking "your" franchise QB early (Geno Smith), replacing the LB you just waived off the team with a better one (Jones, Mingo), or allowing your best S to seek Free Agency (Byrd) and taking his replacement (Vaccaro).
  4. DraftTek is running a readers' mock on the right side of their home page. Take 10 seconds and vote! http://www.drafttek.com/ astro
  5. Let's say that you just waived your #1 tackling LB today (Barnett), and a difference-making LB (who can play 3-4 and 4-3 BTW), who has been #1, 2, or 3 on most draft boards, who has played lights-out for 2 years in the SEC, and has had 44 tackles for loss (the highest % ever), and 28 freaking sacks, is sitting there at #8. And you know that Pettine likes to blitz and get mismatches. How do you not consider Jones? Rob Gronkowski says hello.
  6. I have him behind Damontre Moore and Bjoern Werner as the 3rd DE43 to be taken. Last year, four DE's were taken in the first round, at 15, 16, 19, and 21. This year's crop is better at the top, so they'll go sooner, and probably Ansah/Okafor (in either order; I think Okafor is a more immediate help to a team), and Jordan will all go in the first. Round 2 will be where all the DE34's go--Jesse Williams (most versatile choice for a 3-4 team as he can slip inside and still create disruption), Sylvester Williams (the most disruptive IMHO), and Margus Hunt (the most raw, huge upside).
  7. I agree with BB. He's going to a team with few glaring needs at the end of RD1 (Giants, Atlanta, NEP* if they go 4-3), will be a backup for a year or two, and will be more of an investment in the future than a solution right away.
  8. Yes, he'll be a Strong Side LDE for a 4-3 team. I still have him at #17 for one of the remaining 4-3 teams, and DraftTek just dropped him 9 to #38, and he goes to Cincy at #37 in the next mock out Wed 2-13-13. I don't think he's coming to the Bills with Pettine. He had 10 tackles in 2011, so Nix won't like him either. Ansah is also not terribly scheme versatile. He drops 56 slots using him as a OLB34.
  9. If the Bills wait until RD2, Who would you rather take: Zach Dysert, Tyler Bray, Ryan Nassib, or Matt Barkley? What if Barkley weren't there?
  10. Your choice at RD1 is Nassib or Tyler Wilson, as we think Geno Smith goes #1 or #4. Right now, we think Dysert goes by our RD2, and possibly Glennon depending on his pro day. May I suggest Nassib, with Fitz as backup, and a UDFA (Renfree, Sorenson)? 1 8 Buffalo Ryan Nassib QB Syracuse 2 41 Buffalo Alex Okafor OLB34 Texas 3 72 Buffalo Will Davis CB Utah State 4 102 Buffalo Kenny Stills WRF Oklahoma 5 136 Buffalo Josh Boyce WRF TCU 6 166 Buffalo Zaviar Gooden OLB43 Missouri
  11. Lande has Nassib #1 on his list of 200 best prospects for the draft. We have 1 QB going in RD1,and he goes to Philly at #4. He or Nassib I'm fine with at #8, pending their combine and pro day.
  12. Translating this to the current crop of Round 2 QBs, you'll likely have the nearly-immobile "pocket passers" Ryan Nassib (10.54yards per game rushing), Tyler Wilson (+0.64 yards per game rushing), Tyler Bray (-3 yards per game rushing), Matt Barkley (-6.55 yards per game rushing), Landry Jones (-7 yards per game rushing), vs the mobile EJ Manuel who has the highest yards per attempt of 8.8, 310 rush yards this season , and 242 yards of passing per game, and the mobile Optimus Klein, who has a yards per attempt of 8.7 925 rush yards this season , and 925 yards of passing per game, and the "mobile" Geno Smith with 8.2 yards per attempt, 167 rush yards this season, and 322.9 yards passing per game. Let's take two.

  14. The most versatile DE's (Demontre Moore, Dion Jordan) are still in the conversation as BPA at #8, as are college DE's who will be NFL OLB's (Jarvis Jones, Mingo, Montgomery). If many of these are gobbled up at #1-7, then BPA might be at another position (LT, CB, QB). Nobody sane will make a judgment about this draft until they see a minimum of 3 Bills picks.
  15. With McKelvin an impending UFA, #Bills drafted CB might be KR-Bailey, Alford, Gilbert, and BW Webb did this in college
  16. I like Okafor as well because he's versatile., and so is DC Pettine. If offenses don't know how you'll line up by the personnel you have in there, that's good for us. Okafor, of all of the players [with the exception of Jarvis Jones], shows no fall-off by placing him at another position.
  17. Werner is dumb as a box of rocks. I'm moving him down, Ansah up. I think Richardson is the real deal. So is Ogletree. I agree with several posters and analysts that Mingo is a chancy pick
  18. I disagree with Draft Scout's rankings of the DE's. Maybe we'll crowd-source this. Who would you move up or down, and why? 1 4 Bjoern Werner (Jr.,decl) 1 6 Barkevious Mingo 1 14 Sam Montgomery 1 18 Damontre Moore (Jr.,decl) 1 21 Sheldon Richardson (decl) 1 23 Dion Jordan 1 24 Alex Okafor 1 27 Jesse Williams 1 29 Sylvester Williams 2 46 Ezekiel Ansah 3 66 Tank Cornellius Carradine 3 84 Margus Hunt 4 116 Datone Jones
  19. I love the idea of taking a late-round WR. Worked for Nix on the Stevie pick! I want an earlier WR pick plus a late or UDFA pick, preferably a big guy with versatility (KR, ST, QB in high school) Some others that fit this bill, worth watching at the combine: RDPick.....Name.........Pos.#..Coll..Ht...Wt 6 169 Aaron Mellette WR 3 Elon 6'4" 212 6 188 Mike Shanahan WR 87 Pittsburgh 6'4" 225 U 233 Marlon Brown WR 15 Georgia 6'4" 216 U 242 Darrin Moore WR 14 Texas Tech 6'4" 216 U 257 Alec Lemon WR 15 Syracuse 6'2" 205 U 294 Marqueis Gray WR 5 Minnesota 6'4" 240
  20. Number of Anderson sacks for Bills-----1 Number of Anderson knee surgeries---2 Keep the OL strong. This is a good year to replace DE in the draft or FA.
  21. I agree. RD1 should be BPA on the defensive side of the ball, and should affect pass rush, but be a contain-the-run guy. The QB should come next, and RD3 should be a sideline to sideline LB. There are several QB types that could run Hackett's scheme, not just Nassib. Flip-flopping RD1 and RD3 could work. Take the best run-stopping LB you can get (Ogletree or Minter, IMHO), then QB, then DE or CB in RD3...the though here is that CB affects the pass rush too, with coverage sacks. 22. This took a long time, Dibs. Thank you for your research! You're right about RD2. Chase Thomas, Corey Lemonier, and Arthur Brown are the three LB's I'd like to see in a Bills uni. They're all OK with me, so a trade-down would still net one of these guys. In the next tier, Khaseem Greene and Sean Porter would be there at RD3. Brandon Jenkins, Jonathan Brown, Gerald Hodges and Jelani Jenkins in RD4-5. After that, there's nobody.
  23. I really like Okafor. Smart, sudden, and great hand use. He'd be the heir apparent for Mark Anderson should he be unable to stay on the field. Anderson has had more knee surgeries than sacks in the last year. Dysert is RD4 on my board, so DE, QB, LB, QB, CB, WR would make the most sense if we took difference-making DE in the first. Using DraftTek Simulator, that would be Alex Okafor DE43 Texas Tyler Wilson QB Arkansas Chase Thomas OLB34 Stanford Zac Dysert QB Miami (OH) Leon McFadden CB San Diego State Josh Boyce WRF TCU This report was produced using Draft Tek's Draft Simulator: WWW.Drafttek.com.
  24. Great post, Dog! We find out a lot tomorrow about Nassib. To be honest, DraftTek had him going in RD6 (#173) before the Pinstripe Bowl, then climbing to RD5 (#141 ) after he and the Syracuse D showed up Geno Smith.
  25. I surrender. I've added Star and Cordarelle (who DraftTek has as the 8th best WR in this draft) , and if the Bills choose the Tongan from the PAC, I'll eat a Bills hat.
