I do have trouble with listening to 2 people talk over each other in the name of journalism.

Levy's strengths will be (1) Providing the perspective. (2) Providing the history of a winning tradition. (3) Some insights provided only by wisdom. (4) and providing the coffee for Mr. Wilson.

Kirk Ferentz Willing To Listen To NFL Offers
Astrobot replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ferentz would be on my short list of head coaches without head coaching experience. -
I'd like to see the Bills win the ST race. That long run by McGee might have sealed it.

LAMP: What do you think of this pick?
Astrobot replied to smokinandjokin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like the under. -

I think this contract with Crowell is a signal that we aren't going after AJ Hawk in the first round, but rather are zeroing in on OT, DT, DE, TE. Even if we did go to the 3-4, we are assuirng that we have strength in the LB'er department. Crowell's tackles are on par with Spikes' tackles on a per game basis. I'd rather have Spikes in Spikes' old position and allow Crowell (with his aggressiveness and range) to have Posey's position, moving out Posey as the DE/OLB used in 3-4.

What does this organization think they're doing?
Astrobot replied to Kipers Hair's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Since we continue to sell out the stadium, Bills fans are sending a message to the "management" (such as it is) that they are willing to stand for continued mismanagement. They could be doing what the Jets are doing-- see what Losman / Kelsay / Denney / Vincent / Milloy / McGahee have, and begin retooling. -
Whoops my bad on Peppers. While no Peppers, I think VanDenBosch has been a pleasant surprise at DE for the Titans, but they don't have anyone on the other side (Travis LaBoy). They'd love to see Super Mario fall this far. The tradedown scenario was going to be my Draft Scenario 2, Jokeman. If I had a mind to read, you would have read it.

1. HOUSTON TEXANS -- The best choice for the Texans would be D'Brickashaw Ferguson. Carr just needs time, and Domanick Davis is no slouch at RB. It's hard making D-Brick the #1 pick in the draft, and the Texans may even trade down to someone just above the Bills' slot and pick him there. 2. SAN FRANCICSO 49'ERS (trade) take Bush, Alex Smith's former teammate in high school and a quick fix back there. 3. NY JETS (trade)--take Leinart. Their injury prone QB is a hanging Chad come June 1. 4. N.O. SAINTS --take Vince Young. 5. PACKERS - The most pivotal pick affecting the Buffalo Bills, IMHO. The Packers need an impact player. On offense, Favre may not have his replacement in Rodgers, but they'll pick up Rivers or Ramsey, not the draft again. They'll need a successor to free agent Ahman Green, but they'll offer him a contract. They consider Haloti Ngata, AJ Hawk, and Super Mario Williams. The biggest need is probably linebacker, and AJ Hawk is a player. They take Hawk. 6. TITANS - Take DE Super Mario to go opposite Peppers. A nice pick. 7. BUFFALO BILLS - IMHO they have three choices here in this scenario, and they are DT HALOTI NGATA, TE VERNON DAVIS, and DE MATHIAS KIWANUKA. They won't give up on their healing TE's, so Davis won't be the pick. Ngata could be bigger, faster, and stronger than either Pat Williams and Sam Adams, and Kiwanuka has the size, speed and attitude the Bills covet. I think they take Ngata here, as there is nobody on the roster that could fill a place better than Ngata.

John Abraham's status as a free agent?
Astrobot replied to Typical TBD Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't want, for example, a OT right out of the draft if I was trying to win right now. DT or DE, on the other hand, I'm fine with drafting them. Look at Wilfork. -
Really-What is the BIlls Problem?
Astrobot replied to Poeticlaw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is by far the best reason to deep-six TD that I've read so far. Yeah, who is the other worst line? 49'ers? Jennings-Clement-Dahl-Estes-Sobieski-Kwame Harris? -
The Top Five Reasons You Can't Blame
Astrobot replied to Ned Flanders's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was my fault. I recorded the game over a tape containing a Bills' loss. I've used the same tape the last several weeks. Should I buy a new tape, or tape over the Heisman show? -
Drew is an interesting non-pick. I think Drew is now in a system where he can not lose games. Does that make him ProBowlworthy? Again, you could say the same about Hasselbeck--was he the pro or was the system he was put in the reason he looks good? I also think that Torrey Holt is a legacy pick.

What the heck was that Elvis saying to the camera?
Astrobot replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'll have a Blue Christmas without him. But I have some Margaritas for tonight, and they'll be... All Shook Up. -
Agreed. I'd get Hutch and draft a game-changing DE or take a DT here without an injury history, with some beef on him. Haven't done my research yet. Hasn't Ngata been injured?

See Gibbs.

Texans win 2 of their last 3: ARI, JAX, @SF. They end up with 3 wins, losing to SF for the rights for the #1 draft pick. Texans take homie Vince Young. Losing today vs SEA, the 49'ers will win 1 of their last 3: JAX, STL, HOU. They end with 3 wins. They have an injured Barlow, Gore, Hicks at RB and they take Bush. Packers have DET tonight at Lambeau. They'll win their 3rd (they've won 13 in a row vs. the Lions at Lambeau). Last 3 are at @BAL, CHI, SEA and they win 2 of these for 5 wins. They want Leinart as they aren't in love with Rogers, and the Bills stand in their way like they did with JP. The Bills (DEN @CIN, @NYJ) end with 4 wins to seize 3rd place in the Bush-Young-Leinart bowl. They trade down with the Packers for their pick and a 2nd rounder. The Bills select DE Mario Williams.

I saw no drop off from Moulds to Aiken.
Astrobot replied to Thailog80's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was an Aiken fan--I figured he hadn't had his chance. Well, today was his chance. I hope we continue to see what we have at WR to make an intelligent draft choice, maybe in RD #3. I sure hope George Wilson gets a shot before the end of the year. -
I for one think that Aiken will have a 6-7 reception day, including a TD. I would look for Parrish to do well (7-8), also. This is a pretty decimated secondary, and I think Willis will cause the Pats to put 8 in the box at times and free up Evans, who JP looks to on every pass play. We were up on these guys 16-7 (?). We'll do well in the pass department.

Please leave the Bills if you're a fair-weather fan. Those that stuck it out through back to back 2-win seasons are my kind of people. Math Problem: Buh + Bye=

The question was whether we'd win or lose. I voted yest--we'll do one or the other. No tie today.

Looking forward to the offseason.....
Astrobot replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A very nice post, bff19. I would like to see a later-round DT pick as well, and perhaps a safety in RD3, but a wonderful, proactive, walk-the-walk type of post I'd like to see more of at TBD.
