  1. Bills Looking At Fairchild: The Bills may be looking to the past for their next offensive coordinator. Steve Fairchild was the running backs coach under Gregg Williams in 2001 and 2002. A report out of St. Louis says the Bills want to talk to him about their opening coordinator spot. He has held the same position with the Rams the past three seasons but only took over the play calling duties when Coach Martz left the team with an illness. The Rams have given the Bills permission to talk to Fairchild who may be out of a job once the Rams hire their new head coach.
  2. Can you say "Hanging Chad?"
  3. Yeah, I was thinking our #8 and our two 3rd Rounders for their #4 and their #68. We get Ferguson.
  4. Agree on O-Line. Weigart at RT is is getting old. I would trade down just a bit and pick up RT Winston Justice and another RD2.
  5. Sounds like an argument for a tradedown to about #4 and drafting DaBrick.
  6. At #4, the Jets could do what would help them the most, and that would be to trade down. They went 2-9 over the last 11 games of the season. They need too much: OL, RB, QB, TE, DT... Curtis Martin's yards per carry was 3.3, their QB situation is shaky, and DaBrick is green. Bradway says they have good players --just too many bad-luck injuries-- and can win right away. They might do better to trade down and stockpile picks.
  7. That's really the central question on this board.
  8. Ralph lives with Thurman?
  9. TD let Wahle slip by and picked up "Weekend at Bernie's" Williams. That's why Evans isn't Steve Smith.
  10. And, as luck would have it, the vibrating-yellow first down line is ...you guessed it...Kryptonite.
  11. They have Crennel who's a defensive coordinator at heart. They need a stud nose tackle. They run a 3-4 and Ngata is a better fit for 3-4. While we could use Ngata too, we parlay our #8 into a #12 plus another pick in the top 100. We take Kiwi, then take OT McNeill with the extra pick, and DT Gabe Watson from Michigan with our 2nd rounder.
  12. Grimm. He can yell at the line better.
  13. Here's another nugget-- Grimm was the other finalist with Lovie Smith for the Bears job. Source
  14. Another parallel: The Carolina Panthers, with a woeful O-Line, were going noplace fast following their Super Bowl years. They drafted a OT and a C with their first 2 picks in 2003, and the rest is current history.
  15. Wait! There's a TE position on the offense?????
  16. I think the sub's name was Norwood. Somep'n like that.
  17. Here's a good resume: Grimm's Not a Fairy Tale
  18. Remember that in 2003 the Panthers were the team that jumped in when the Vikings were late with their draft pick. They snapped up Jordan Gross with the Vikes' #7 pick, and with the #50 pick took C Bruce Nelson. Here's hoping we strike gold like they did 3 drafts ago.
  19. Grimm would be a good choice in my book. You want to look for a guy whose coaching somewhat fits the current philosophy of the team, or the way they want to go, at least! Grimm is known for his "run first" style, a need for a solid O-Line, the use of a Randle-El/Hines Ward type, the occasional trick play, etc.
  20. What?!? You mean this is like Wrestling?
  21. Sounds like a ploy on the part of Packers brass to reel in their FA's.
  22. Good post! I think Jacksonville has a great chance in the NE game. If the Jacksonville D-line can hurry Marsha into some impulsive behavior, AFC civilization may end its awkward tilt.
  23. I'd like to see Kemoeatu and Bentley. I think we get a draftee to be the big-load DT.
  24. Washington @ Tampa: Tampa Jacksonville @ New England: New England Carolina @ NY Giants: Giants Pittsburgh at Cincinnati: Steelers
  25. Anybody who recorded games this season, watch Troy in particular. Several things will be evident if I'm Troy Vincent: (1) If you've tackled the guy, I won't jump on the pile. (2) If you cross through my zone, I will have trouble keeping up with you. (3) If you're an oversize RB, I won't be able to bring you down. We will be in trouble with the big TE's, 4-wides, big RB's, and zone coverages if Troy is our guy on the field next year. I think he'd be lax as a backfield coach, and preoccupied with his own enterprises if he were in the office. Just Say No.
