  1. He avoids the hits, he's late, but he has a wonderful brain for the game. Has he thought about being a DB Coach?
  2. I'd like to see the Resource Forum include sub-forums (sub-fora?) of Free Agency Chatter, Mock Draft, and Top College Players.
  3. OJ, but not by much. 1. OJ profited from the Electric Company's blocking. 2. Thurman may have beat OJ in all-purpose yards with the Electric Company in OJ's era. 3. Hull-Ritcher-Ballard etc could have done the same for OJ in OJ's era.
  4. That was fun. Now, here's NFL Draft Countdown: #8. HALOTI NGATA DT *** My Choice #9. WINSTON JUSTICE OT #10.LENDALE WHITE RB #11. VERNON DAVIS TE #42 Nick Mangold C #43 Eric Winston OT #44 Ryan O'Callaghan OT *** My Choice I pick O'Callaghan because I've taken LeCharles Bentley as my big-time FA pickup, and I like Duke Preston backing him up or playing OG.
  5. I took Draft Daddy Top 100 and have these picks at those spots, plus the next 2: 8) OT Eric Winston ~ Miami ***** My Choice 9) RB Deangelo Williams ~ Memphis 10) CB Tye Hill ~ Clemson 40) OC Greg Eslinger ~ Minnesota 41) DT Kyle Williams ~ LSU ***** My Choice 42) DE Manny Lawson ~ NC State 72) CB Justin Wyatt ~ USC 73) OC Ryan Cook ~ New Mexico 74) S/LB Greg Blue ~ Georgia ***** My Choice 75) DE James Wyche ~ Syracuse
  6. You have to like a Jeff Backus, LeCharles Bentley, Chris Dielman line. I was surprised that Tight End isn't in his plan.
  7. It's all icky in there, with 2005 stuff. SDS, do you do that kind of stuff? Astro
  8. Lying vs. Laying: Lying: "The crack pipe was lying on the floor of the truck; I don't know how it got there," Irvin said. Laying requires a direct object. You need something (or someone) to lay. "I lay the crack pipe on the floor of Irvin's car. I lay fifteen year olds on the back seat."
  9. Getting Davin Joseph in RD#3 might be a reach. He's probably going in RD#2. It's a dream draft, though.
  10. I voted for him.
  11. Steelers will win on heart. 27-24. Bus gets 2 TD's from inside the five, but Hines Ward is the MVP.
  12. Just got a package of crabmeat, added some Kraft horseradish spread (1/4 cup), and regular mayonnaise (1/2 cup). I'm giong to spread it on crackers, cover with Monterey Jack shredded cheese, and serve with cocktail sauce. Also my wife is making a white bean chicken chili, which we serve with the Jack cheese, sour cream, and salsa options. Go Stillers.
  13. From The Bears Web: Lloyd Lee, in his second season as the Bears defensive quality control coach, was hired on January 23, 2004, following three seasons as a pro scout with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While at Tampa Bay, Lee assisted the pro personnel department in the recruiting and signing of NFL free agents as well as scouting and compiling reports on free agents and players on the Buccaneers roster. A native of Bloomington, Minn., Lee originally entered the NFL as a college free agent with the San Diego Chargers in 1998. Lee spent time on the Chargers roster and practice squad during the 1998 and 1999 seasons. He was a four-year starter at safety at Dartmouth College (1994-98), earning Division I-AA All-America honors and was an all-ECAC selection while helping lead Dartmouth to an undefeated season and Ivy League Championship in 1996. Lee, who was born August 10, 1976, in Minneapolis, Minn., is married to Katy.
  14. Bills Lose LB Coach: LB coach Johnnie Holland was hired just last week by Dick Jauron he has now left the team to join Gary Kubiak's staff in Houston. Jauron granted the Texans permission to hire him for their LB coach job. That job was more appealing for Holland since it is near his hometown. He did say he hated missing the opportunity to work with Dick and has a tremendous amount of respect for him. A source told the Buffalo News that the team may hit the Bears organization again to fill the job. They have received permission to speak with Lloyd Lee who has been Chicago's defensive quality control coach the past two years. Bills Lose LB Coach
  15. Good Point! This is a blueprint for the next 2-3 drafts.
  16. Tamba Hali is the next Dwight Freeney, I believe. He'll go to the Colts. Just watch.
  17. It was near his home town. Looks like the Bus isn't the only one going home. No big deal. This Lee guy they're bringing in is a good one.
  18. Glad you were able to identify it. It looked like a lab beaker of Ben's urine.
  19. Jokeman, I have to respect your order of selection in your sig line: OT, DT, CB (after that it's a crepeshoot). We need the O-Line to improve drastically; that's a given. But wouldn't you rather get a proven OT via free agency--especially after recently being stung by your #4 pick MW--and draft positions where a rookie might help from Game 1, like DT/DE, and even TE?
  20. I still want to see us pick up an OT in RD#1, and D-Line in RD#2. That said, I'd take DaBrick, Haloti Ngata, Mario Williams, or Tamba Hali if they're on the board at our pick. In that order. If we can get DT help from free agency, then Pick #2 is DE or CB.
  21. Adams with Ted Washington worked well enuf to be #2 in the NFL. I'd say keep Adams around, get Pickett or Washington, then draft Gabe Watson (Michigan) in RD#2. Keep Edwards for pass rush. Welcome to the Wall! Astro
  22. Still think he's the best we have for now, for this year. Give a new staff one year to elevate McGee and King's game, and get backup safeties in here. Franchise Nate. Git 'er done, ML!
  23. Watch the Senior Bowl. Jean-Gilles was #1, Joseph #2 of all the guards. Their only negative about JEan-Gilles had to do with his lack of a --ahem--sculpted body. But now that we've gotten rid of our trainer, his rookie replacement will sculpt him.
  24. Welcome to the Wall, junglecat. Hope you are spayed, because this is Dystemper City. I'd like Cutler in Round 2, but he'll be gone by then and he's not a lineman, and for this offense to work, we need a dominating line. For the defense to work, you need a high-pressure line. We have neither, and will be hitting FA and the draft accordingly.
  25. That, Rubes, is the best reason for liking this hire--commitment to the kind of players that will let your scheme succeed. It's tailoring the pants to fit the man. Not tailoring the man to fit the pants, like we experienced the last few years. DJ made an average of 9 personnel changes per year. Out of 22. No question we'll see changes, and they will be ones that better our chances of running the Tampa-2.
