Good job, frogger!!!! Because 11 teams want a DT, I'd still pick Ngata or Bunkley. I was really interested in how Bunkley has climbed. Now, we can't even trade down to get him.
-
Only 4 teams list their top 3 needs as DE this year. Contrast that with the number that list DT: 11. The run this year will be on the DT's, so the Bills will want to get Ngata, Bunkley, or Lewis, sooner rather than later. Source

McCargo is ranked 14th. I like Barry Cofield better for our needs. And as I said, I didn't pick Wroten for Rd#2 only because he's undersized and inexperienced. He could end up being great, but maybe not as DT.

The Remake of the Bills requires young, fast, quick, smart players, and that even applies to the DT's. You want a fat tub of goo, sure, but you also want their a$$es to move faster than molasses. Here is a short list of players who "Fill The Bills" in the Big Middle: (Round 1) Ngata--timed as fast as 4.84 in the 40, the biggest in the Top 10. (Round 1 Tradedown) Bunkley--quick first step, penetrator, plays in backfield (RD 3B/4) Jonathan Lewis--durable, tough, strong, athletic, quick. non-stop motor. Round 3B if you really want him. (RD 3B/4) Kyle Williams--tough, durable, hard worker but another light guy. Outstanding technique, blue collar guy. Best Later Pick: (RD 3B/4) Dusty Dvoracek athleticism, tough, strength (lifted 1,555 lbs.) He has good intelligence and always took care of business in the classroom as well as on the field. He is a very good run defender who also can get after the quarterback on passing downs. He has a quick first step which allows him to beat most offensive linemen off the snap of the ball Jesse Mahelona--If he's still there on Day 2, he's a good DT/DE tweener but not the Fast Goo guy. He's more like Sape. Strong, quick, fast, hard worker. I didn't pick Wroten for Rd#2 only because he's undersized and inexperienced. He could end up being great, but maybe not as DT. Gabe Watson is not on the list because he's the slowest of the Top 10. Conditioning and motivation are issues Levy won't pick. Rodrique Wright--questionable work ethic as well as durability issues. Orien Harris--Too light (lightest of the Top 15 DT's)

Add to that we might have the 1st pick in the 2007 draft and an extra 1st or 2nd for Moulds! WooWoo! -
I have the DE's ranked this way, while some boards have Lawson ahead of Dumervil because of his 40 time and height. Any disagreements? Do you think 6 DE's are going to go in Rounds 1 and 2? You're high. 1 Mario Williams * North Carolina State 6-7 295 4.66c 2 Mathias Kiwanuka Boston College 6-5 256 4.75c 3 Tamba Hali Penn State 6-2 5/8 263 4.86p 4 Darryl Tapp Virginia Tech 6-1 262 4.84c 5 Elvis Dumervil Louisville 5-11 257 4.75c 6 Manny Lawson North Carolina State 6-5 241 4.43c

Yep. I'd also be for parlaying those 2 picks for DaBrick, moving Preston over to Guard, and using Fowler at Center.

Abraham a Falcon with the help of the Broncos
Astrobot replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This actually has some implications for the Moulds trade possibilities, as #15 is probably about the time Santonio Holmes is drafted, and WR is the Broncos' #1 need. DT is the other one, and Bunkley would be the guy here. -

Moulds and our RD#4 for their 2nd Rounder. That's where Dvorachek, Wroten and Colledge will be. -
Use Simon's voice. Customize your monkey and type in what you want him to say, and send it to a friend, a daughter, granddaughter, boss, you name it. Monkey Mail I'd send one to the Arizona Cardinals. Have Fun! Astro

Please. We'll make this simple. Quarterbacks (1) Click on any QB who has made 2000 completions. (2) Note their 1st year passing percentage. (3) Write down the number of seasons until they got into the 60% range. (4) The answer is usually 3 years, and almost never 1-2. -

DT Monsato Pope to Visit Monday
Astrobot replied to HeyNowBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Some would like to see us trade down for Bunkley. Broncos have interest in Bunkley at pick #22, and the Browns conceivably at #12 but I doubt it. If we were to trade down to #11, the Rams' spot, we'd get a 3rd or 4th Rounder for it. Would you trade down to #11 if it were a 4th Rounder? Sample Scenario with Bunkley: Round 1-Bunkley, DT Round 2-MarcusMcNeil, OT Round 3A-Manuel Lawson, DE Round 3B-Pat Watkins FS Round 4A-Charles Gordon, CB Round 4B--Bruce Gradkowski QB Round 5-Matt Bernstein FB Round 6-Cedric Humes RB Round 7-Eric Gill TE -
Getting back to a important matter....

Remember that the dust hasn't settled on the Hutchinson deal yet. It's to Runyan's advantage to wait. -
We should trade EM now while he still has value.
Astrobot replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As an opposing GM, you might wait for Moulds to be cut, but if I WERE a Denver or an Arizona and had cap room, I'd want the assurance he was coming to MY team, not my competitions', and offer a 2nd rounder (even if the Bills had to sweeten the pot with a midround pick). I think it's Denver that has two first rounders. -

A while back, I cited the number of great quarterbacks that needed 2-3 years to get their bearings. Very few exceptions. I'll take my chances with JP, Nall, and a QB we get in the draft if we just get ourselves an O-line for once. -
hmmm this should get interesting....
Astrobot replied to billsfan182's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good point, Ed Roch. They might just want out. However, methinks this is more likely true of a team going down the tubes compared to the team that wants you. I see the Bears and Cards as on the upswing, with the Bears ahead of us in that regard. BTW, Ed, are you near training camp? I'm probably 5-8 minutes away. -
Gotta go with Mangold. Option 2 is trade down a little in Round 2 and draft Eslinger in mid-Round 2. He's not heavy but can add weight. Rimington Award winner, Outland Trophy winner. Another option: In Round 3A, take the 3rd Rated Center: 3. Ryan Cook New Mexico 6-6 5/8 318 5.50 --

Could JP Losman be on his way out?
Astrobot replied to firstngoal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wonderful post mattb. -
I think this non-signing is a good indicator that we draft a young QB. We have 4 QB's on the roster now, and I think we'll have a late Day 1 or first Day 2 pick throwing with them. We have a guy better than Ramsey on the squad if you are looking at his 70's passer rating.

Should the Wonderlic test be...
Astrobot replied to WVUFootball29's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There shouldn't be any test except the true test-- Does the opinion of this poster make sense, and is it backed up with verifiable fact. It might even be a good question for a poster to ask him/herself before posting.
