  1. From Chargers Fansite: L"ooks like the Jets are going to get serious: Scout.com reports "sources familiar with the Chargers" believe the Jets are willing to trade their first-round pick for Michael Turner. Turner, a restricted free agent, isn't even under contract with San Diego, but this appears to be a possibility once he's tendered. The Jets would then explore signing him long term. San Diego is reportedly now looking at running back prospects, possibly Penn State's Tony Hunt." Source: scout.com

  3. If AP's there, I think we should offer him up in a double trade-down for an extra 2nd and 3rd Rounder. Here's why: The Packers give Buffalo their pick at #16 in addition to their second-round pick (#47). Then The Giants give Buffalo their pick at #20 in addition to their third-round pick (#81). You then have these options at each pick (according to Draft Tek Mock) here 20. Players Available: Revis-Houston-Ross CB, Willis ILB, Jarrett-Ginn WR 43. 4. How would you feel about Bush as a RD#6 pick?
  5. I'd be good with that Vilma deal. The Jet's won't be, but I am. You take Vilma instead of Willis in RD#1, take the best of the #25 guys (likely Houston, Ross, Meachem, Ginn or Timmons), take Hunt at RB a little early in RD#2, get Marcus Thomas at DT in RD#3, Quincy Black at OLB in RD#4, Matt Trannon at WR in RD#6, Germaine Race, RB in RD#7A, and Uche Nwaneri OG in RD#7B.
  6. It's possible that Hunt rises into the 2nd Round, but not all the way up to where we're picking. We could probably trade down in the 2nd and still take Hunt, netting a late 3rd or early 4th Rounder.
  7. Hey, take Hunt, then Race or Bradshaw in the 7th, or see if one becomes a UDFA. Peters did.
  8. I did this recently with LB's, and I'm doing it with RB's here. Hopefully this will stimulate some discussion and even perhaps patience if Levy doesn't draft Lynch or Peterson in RD#1. Round 1: PETERSON. -- Peterson is taller, faster, heavier, and a year older (though he and Lynch are Juniors) Missed 10 games in 3 years. Patient. Wonderful off blocks and making the most of a little gap. A very competent blocker, and is excellent at selling the fake in play-action. Both Lynch (3 games in 3 years) and Peterson (10 games in 3 years, collarbone for 6 last year, 4 with an ankle as a sophomore) have been injured. Round 2: BUSH. --Bush (Louisville) and Leonard (Rutgers) are the running backs who will be drafted in the 2nd round. Bush would have been a top 3 pick this year if not for his injury. After rushing for 23 touchdowns in 2005 and being NCAA 2005 scoring champion, Bush broke his leg in the first 2006 game against Kentucky. When he left that game, he already had 128 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries. Bush is first in Div 1A in TD's with 41 (Leonard is #2 with 40). Round 3: HUNT. --Tony Hunt (Penn State) 2,794 yards rushing and 30 touchdowns in his career, Hunt also has 3 INT's as a DB. He is a good all-purpose back, with 87 catches for 792 yards (9.1 avg.) and three scores. He returned eight kickoffs for 112 yards (14.0 avg.). What you lose with Hunt is breakaway ability, but get it back with his vision and balance. He is excellent at cutting back. He can also set up defenders (or even set up our offensive blocks) with his moves. Irons and Pittman will likely go in this round, and are attractive in their own right. The two of them, and possibly AZ's Chris Henry, will be gone by RD#4's pick. Those three were the fastest at the combine in the 20 yard dash. Round 4: WYNN. --I'm taking bruisers in Bush, Hunt, and Wynn in the 2-3-4 rounds. Lorenzo Booker (Fla St.), Pittman (Ohio State), and Brandon Jackson (Nebraska). Lo-Book and Wynn are the RB's with the fastest burst in the draft. Lo-Book is 5'10", 191. Wynn is 5'10" 232. Yet they have remarkably similar 20-yard dash times, which I put great stock in. Think back to physics when they talked about momentum. That's DeShawn Wynn. Some mocks have Brandon Jackson slipping later (Rounds 5-7), where he'd be a real deal. Round 6: HENRY. --Now, in the later rounds, I'm taking speed. Chris Henry (AZ) and Garrett Wolfe (No Illinois) are expected to be there, along with Dwayne Wright (Fresno St.) and some FB's (Virginia's Jason Snelling is one of the FB's, but get this: Chris Henry is 230 lbs, and so is Snelling. The difference is raw speed--Henry's 4.4 is sideline-to-sideline scary fast. The agile Wolfe is a decent choice, too; he's the leader in the cone drills (although some haven't had their pro day yet). I watched Wright and Wolfe in some games this year, and we're still getting a quality back. Although tested against lesser competition, their combine numbers are super. Round 7 (Pick 2): RACE. --Germaine Race is from Pittsburg State, a Division II school. Germaine is merely the most prolific scorer in the history of college football, having scored 634 points in 51 career games. He is also 2nd in NCAA Division II all-time rush yards. Rushed for 1452 yards this year. He scores 12.2 points per game. Round 7 (Pick 2): BRADSHAW. --No, not Terry. Ahmad. Ahmad Bradshaw (Marshall) was 6th in RB's last year, with 1,523 yards. He caught 56 balls, so think all-purpose yards. His 129 rushing yards a game was impressive. His combine results put him 2nd best in the short shuttle and cone drills, so he's a darter. 9. I like the common sense of brandon and the draft commentary of R.Rich.
  10. Thanks for this list. 22. Zac Herold- Robert Royal This is just sad.
  11. If we want an undersized linebacker we can get one. In Round 6.
  12. I had to pick one in RD#1. Timmons is definitely 3rd behind Willis and Posluszny, and will be gone before RD#2 picks.
  13. CORRECTIONS: receiving. i before e, EXCEPT after c. Titans. Titian is a painter from the Classical period. Painted fat broads with sheets not covering. Royal's receiving skills are untested, not suspect. The lack of linemen on both sides of the ball has killed the Bills the past few years.
  14. Torry Holt is good because of Isaac Bruce and vice versa. Same reason why Peerless Price looked good, or Reggie Wayne, or Larry Fitzgerald. Hopefully one day we'll have a #2 WR on this team so that they may profit from Lee Evans' greatness. I love Santana. But I have it in my CD player in the car. Chris Chambers may someday actually have a QB throwing to him, and he can begin to be eligible for this list. But not until.

  16. I can't spell it. That's why. I'm having enough trouble with Pus...Poz...Posluz...Poslusz...
  17. Here's an article that says Jack Ham thinks Posluszny was the best LB in Penn State history. Ham "It's such a different game now than when we played," Ham said. "Today, you have to be half-strong safety, half-linebacker to play. We weren't asked to cover the way these guys are. They didn't stretch the field on us. There were no three- and four-wide receiver sets. A lot of linebackers have to go to the bench in passing situations now. Not Posluszny. He does it all."
  18. 1- Jerry Rice -----No Question 2- Steve Largent 3- Marvin Harrison 4- Art Monk 5- Don Hutson 6- Paul Warfield best 7- Isaac Bruce 8- Lynn Swann 9- Randy Moss 10- John Stallworth Also near this list: Irving Fryar, Andre Reed, James Lofton, Terrell Owens Some Day: Lee Evans
  19. Abbate has the heart and soul to be a football player with a 3-4, I think. Nobody will outwork him in this year's class. He's a Junior, so he'll be a good late round choice for someone. But he won't grow 3 inches by fall.
  20. Too slow, too short (I know--same as LF-B). But if we wanted that prototype, we would've kept LF-B.
  21. At his prime, Bruuuce was 6% body fat. These days, most of my burgers are under that.
  22. Sorry, I had to eat lunch! DAY 2 LB's: RD#4: Tim Shaw OLB. Paterno's LB coach called him the fastest LB he's ever coached. Bodes well for Buffalo's OLB of the future. RD#6: Anthony Waters may not be here, as he's a RD#5-6 guy on most boards. You jump on him if he's still there in the 6th (if if we magically get the 5th Rounder). Rory Johnson OLB might be there at our 6th Rounder. He's quick (nobody beat him in the shuttle at the combine), instinctive, and nasty. He's only played 1 year at Div 1, so he's another raw, great-potential type. Perfect if you picked Willis in RD#1 to pick an OLB here. RD#7A: Desmond Bishop ILB from Cal is strong (#1 in bench reps among LB's at the combine with 33), JUCO transfer, but I like his 215 tackles in 2 seasons, and 21 tackles for loss. He'd better not be your only LB pick this year, but he has good upside. RD#7B: 6'4" Dallas Sartz OLB was elected a team captain at USC, was Top 8 in the 20-yard dash. His USC LB coach is Ken Norton Jr., and learned from Mike Singletary at the East-West Shrine Game. Three-year starter at USC.
  23. RD1-Patrick Willis ILB--- Speed, Power, and Smarts. And two things Fletcher-Baker lacked--height and weight. Paul Posluszny OLB would work in a trade-down here. Levy openly wanted AJ Hawk last year; now he can get him. RD2- David Harris OLB--- Harris has the speed for the Cover2, but Beason is quick, instinctive, and mean. I know that Beason has had durability questions as well, The other name here is Earl Everett for good size and speed ratio. RD3A-Justin Durant ILB---fast, smooth, tough, fiery are all words that describe him. If you don't take Willis, get your RB and DT in RD#1 and 2 and get this guy in the 3rd. RD3B-Quincy Black OLB or Zak DeOssie ILB---Black is the better all-round player, Zak DeOssie had the faster 20 yard dash and 40 yard dash combine times. Quincy is tall ( 6-3), too light (227) for some defenses, but quick enough for our Cover2. Best DE/LB tweener, great blitzer, 4.42 speed.
  24. I agree, but I've seen Willis reverse field and make the tackle on a RB, so I'm not throwing him out quite yet. Durant (tied with Willis for fastest 40 time), Black, and Zak DeOssie (LB 2nd Place in the 40, ) would be great ILB picks in the 4th Round. I wouldn't put it past the Bills brass to make two ILB picks.
