  1. Tim Anderson. Anderson Before they had him gain 20 pounds.
  2. I'd look at it one more way. TEAMS THAT DRAFT BEFORE THE BILLS THAT NEED RB 3. Cleveland (Could also go DE, CB, or BPA--Calvin Johnson, Quinn) 6. Washington (RB NOT BIGGEST NEED--So Many--Could be Trade Down, DT--Okoye, Branch, DE--Gaines Adams or Jamaal Anderson, ILB, OT--Joe Thomas) 11. San Fran (RB NOT BIGGEST NEED--WR is very weak, so is DT) 12. Bills
  3. Very Strong Draft. It takes advantage of solid-at-their-position mid- to late-round draft picks like Bennett and Davis and Durant. I see Chandler as the Reimersma type--adding a receiving threat and height (6’7”, 270). We already have Murphy as depth at TE, who has all that, but Chandler is supposed to be much better. We'll see.
  4. The way Levy pointedly said Everett better step up made it sound like Murphy had a chance. Like his size and ability to catch passes. A long time ago, Stith played TE. Sound like anyone you know?
  5. Thought I'd show you DraftTek.com's computer simulation based on each team's priorities, and the 8 players who'd still be there at each pick. I'd like to hear your choices in each. I have left out some unlikely picks (FS) but left others in (DE, some DTs, WR). The advantage of seeing them this way is that you already know who's going to be there later when you make your earlier picks. It usually doesn't work out that way, but it's still a fun exercise. BTW, if you trade down you get an extra pick in the 3B batch, but can't choose the first 5 ilisted below in the first round. Round 1: Willis ILB, Hall CB, Carriker DE, Lynch RB, Olson TE, Poz OLB, Dwayne Bowe, WR, Darelle Revis CB Round 2: Leonard RB, Woodley DE, Siler ILB, Crowder DE, Davis WR, Wade CB, Hunt RB, Sears OT Round 3A: Bradley OLB, Pitcock DT, Allison WR, Bennett CB, Abiamiri DE, Patrick TE, Irons RB, Fry OC Round 3B: Pittman RB, Blades ILB, Bush RB, Scott CB, Free OT, Shaw OLB, Durant ILB, Alleman OG, Beekman OG, Okwo ILB, Everett OLB Round 4: Taylor WR, Williams WR, DeOssie ILB, Soliai DT, Bennett OG, Clowney WR, Atkins DE, Barnes OLB Without a trade-down, I'd go (1) Willis ILB, (2) Wade CB, (3) Allison WR (3) Pittman RB, (4) Barnes OLB With a Trade Down, I'd get an extra choice in the 3B batch. So (1) Poz OLB (2) Wade CB (3) Pittman RB (3) Davis WR (3) Alleman OG (4) DeOssie ILB Have Fun! Astro
  6. WHODEY? Two Bills on your depth chart who could make it, IMHO: OT Walter Stith: "Stith (6-8, 320, Atlanta, Ga.) was named MEAC Offensive Lineman of the Week after helping another Aggie back reach the 150-yard rushing plateau. In Week 1, Brandon Sweeney went for 150 yards on 32 carries against N.C. Central as Stith recorded six pancake blocks.... In the Aggies win over Norfolk State Saturday, Stith opened holes for Quante Speight’s 152-yard performance, while earning a good grade. The Aggies rushed for 252 yards on Saturday..." TE Matt Murphy: "The 6'5" 274 pound tight end [was] most recently with the Seattle Seahawks, but did not make the final cut in early September coming out of training camp.....'I played mostly on special teams,' said Murphy. 'I was on kickoff return, kickoff, punt return and field goal.' Murphy [was] a four-year teammate of Bills center Melvin Fowler...There are three tight ends ahead of him on the roster, but at 274 pounds it stands to reason that Murphy will be able to help the offense in short yardage and perhaps even passing situations..."
  7. Best comment on that board: "easily evans @ #1 over coles. i have a lot of respect for coles, but he's not the breakaway deep threat evans is. back to back 83 yard TD receptions in the first qtr last year against texans says it all. texans DBs said evans was the fastest theyd faced all year, and this is after playing the colts and cowboys, who supposedly had the best WRs in the league."
  8. Wouldn't mind this list, but maybe Marshawn instead of Okoye. Siler would go to the Bills in RD#2 at their pick (#45) or Carolina (#47) or Cincy (#49).
  9. Brandon, this is probably a smokescreen, but a clever one! Tennessee at 19 also wants Meachem, but is also talking Lynch. The Bills meet with Meachem to steer Tennessee wrong. The other scenario is the Bills trading their 1st and 4th to Green Bay for their 1st and 2nd, to move down in front of Tennessee, but to choose someone other than Meachem. The 4 that should be there at Green Bay's pick would be The Poz, Lynch, Revis, and Houston.
  10. Purple Twinkies aside, on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being best, OL = 9 (were a 4 last year, add Dockery-Peters as a wall of blindside protection, 2 more linemen via FA, more experience) QB = 8 (was a 6, but hurried throws and no 2-man WR threat, no TE in pass patterns brought him down ) TE's =6 (6), but will profit from the O-Line by being able to go out in pass patterns more RB's =5 (7), but will profit from the O-Line and a Day 1 draft pick (sooner than later) WR's =6 (6), and will benefit from JP's getting extra time to throw, more targets (TE), and a bona fide #2 WR in draft Totals: 34 (up from 29) DL = 8 (were a 5 last year); McCargo and Darwin Walker make this so LB = 5 (8); Lose lots of experience with LFB and Spikes but pick up speed, and a Day 1 pick (at least one) CB = 5 (8); Lose a shutdown corner but add a year of experience and pick up a Day 1 draft pick (at least one) FS/SS = 9 (8) Gain a year of experience each Totals: 27 (down from 29) I think it's a wash at this point, but we start up in better shape than we'd think.
  11. Yeah, Ochs is one of our NFLE QB's. He's assigned to the Frankfurt Galaxy. Here's more: "Craig Ochs then began his college career with the Colorado Buffaloes in 2000. At the time, Craig was considered one of the top young QB's in Division 1 College Football. However, due to lack of playing time, Craig decided to transfer to the University of Montana and play for the Division 1-AA power Montana Grizzlies. In his Senior season of 2004, Craig rated among the top 1-AA Quarterbacks and led the Grizzlies to the 1-AA title game". He was cut the last week in August 2005 from the Chargers.
  12. Rowe at Nevada Gradkowski at Boise State Round 6
  13. ...And with 2 first rounders, we'll be spending a little more than 10m
  14. Don't shoot the messenger, but DraftTek has revised its computer-simulated draft. Bills trade their #12 to the Chiefs for their #23, their #54, and a 5th rounder (#150). 23. Chris Houston CB 43. Brian Leonard RB 54. David Harris ILB 74. Rufus Alexander OLB 92. Marshall Yanda OG 107. Courtney Taylor, Auburn WR 150. Cory Anderson FB 169 Derek Landri Notre Dame DT 203 Scott Stephenson OC 220 Anthony Pudewell Nevada TE
  15. Maybe they meant "eminent". It's all good.
  16. From Wiki: "Arrington was one of the Redskins' most popular and visible players—his #56 jersey outselling all other jerseys combined in the team's stores. However, his agents, the infamous Carl and Kevin Poston, neglected to inspect the final revision of the contract, in which $6.5 million worth of bonuses contained in earlier drafts were missing. The ensuing battle over the mishandling of his contract, along with a tempestuous final two seasons in which he suffered from knee injuries and was benched by head coach Joe Gibbs and defensive coordinator Gregg Williams for freelancing, created a rift between Arrington and the team. On March 5, 2006, he asked to be released by the Redskins, in essence paying the Redskins over $4 million to buy his free agency. Carl Poston was given a two-year suspension by the players' union over the mishandling of Arrington's contract. In April 2006, Arrington agreed to a seven-year, $49 million contract with the New York Giants. There, Arrington was reunited with fellow Redskin expatriate, linebacker Antonio Pierce, along with his Penn State teammate and flanker, linebacker Brandon Short. Arrington suffered an injury in week 7 against the Cowboys and missed the rest of the season with a ruptured Achilles tendon. On February 12, 2007, he was released by the New York Giants along with two other veterans. [4]. Since then rumors have been flying around that he is contemplating retirement."
  17. Just did some snooping, and "Tim Lewis, their defensive coordinator, was not to return for his fourth season as the Giants’ defensive coordinator in 2007, head coach Tom Coughlin announced today." He was replaced by Steve Spagnuolo, former Philly LB coach. Spagnuolo will run a 4-3 front with lots of blitzing, like when he coached Jeremiah Trotter. The Eagles had the most tackles for a loss under Spagnuolo. Spagnuolo was the only coach to work under highly-respected defensive coordinator Jim Johnson during his entire tenure in Philadelphia. During six of his eight seasons with the Eagles, Spagnuolo coached a player who earned Pro Bowl honors. Could still see the Giants get Spikes.
  18. Pierce-Mitchell-Spikes-Short/Torbor would be a significant improvement in a 3-4. Anyone have word that they're switching?
  19. What's interesting was that I thought the Giants liked Antonio Pierce at ILB, so something's going on.
  20. Yes and No. Mitchell is a great pickup for the Jints. He's durable. He's in his prime, but he's ILB. Watch for the Jints to bring in both.
  21. The longer you hear of no deal done, the better. This means that the Giants and the Eagles (and whoever--Frisco, Dallas, Baltimore and New Orleans OUGHT to be looking...) are in a discussion for TKO's services. This can end up being a 4th, or a 5th this year with incentives for next year. Giants have the earlier picks, so I root for them. BTW, a 5th on Draft Tek would be somebody like: Darius Walker, Brandon Jackson, Kolby Smith, RB Tim Duckworth, OG Mike Walker Cent Florida WR Joe Newton, TE Corey Hilliard OT Mason Crosby P/K
