  1. The sticking point in all of this with the Vikings is that they would only do a deal if there are 2 DE's when the Bills pick. They want to wait until the last minute to do this deal, because Harvey (or Merling, for that matter) could still be picked by New Orleans. I think New Orleans is going to pick DR-C, though, and a deal is worked out between the Vikes and Bills.
  2. Who thinks we need to start thinking about Moorman's heir apparent? Dragosavich and Durant Brooks are the best in a while at punter, and one (Dragosavich) punted for ND State--think cold and windy. He'd be a 7th or UDFA.
  3. All of the WR's we want will be there at #17. I'm planning on taking 2 very good DT's in later rounds: At Pick #132--Andre Fluellen DT FSU - great burst, a space eater, gets pressure up the middle, 1 or 3-gap Derek Lokey as a UDFA.
  4. Good idea. The Vikes haven't responded yet to my counter-offer, but I assume he's actually trying to get real work done. Bills #11 for Vikes' #17, 3rd Rounder (#73), and 5th Rounder (#150). I am even willing to go Bills #11 for Vikes' #17, 3rd Rounder (#73), and early 6th Rounder (#182). If the Bills pull this off, the Bills will have 8 of the Top 150: #17--- #42--- #72--- #73--- #111-- #132-- #138-- #150-- #170-- #202-- #210-- #251--
  5. I've made the offer to the Vikes. The Bills are offering Their #11 for Vikes' #17, 3rd Rounder (#73), and 5th Rounder (#150). I'm willing to go to #11 for Vikes' #17, 3rd Rounder (#73), and early 6th Rounder (#182).
  6. I think Thanksgiving in Toronto is called "a work day".
  7. This Looks Like It: http://www.nfl.com/draft/story;jsessionid=...mp;confirm=true
  8. It's 1250 for them, 1175 for us. The 5th Rounder makes it 1250 tem, 1206 for us. I'm just being mercenary. Astro
  9. I understand at the combine he was able to lick his eyebrows.
  10. I like the idea of trading down because we get back to back picks in Round 3, a very good round for us. -----62Earl Bennett WR-Vandy 6'0 209 4.4, has SEC record in receptions -----65JeromeSimpson WR-CCU 6'2, 4.4, 199, 10.75" hands -----68Brad Cottam TE - Tenn injury history good blocker 16 ypc -----91John Carlson TE - ND 272, abv avg blk 10 ypc -----64 Erin Henderson OLB - MD -----63Roy Schuening OG - OreState -----84Charles Godfrey CB- Iowa Chris Brown recommended -----71Andre Woodson QB- Kentucky -----77Josh Johnson QB - SD- 6'3 4.5 Lynch cousin -----79Eddie Royal WR - Va Tech 4.3 KR -----94Jordy Nelson WR -Kansas St 6'3 4.5 -----87Red Bryant DT - TX -----92Chilo Rachal OG - USC 315, 5.12 -----88 Bruce Davis OLB - UCLA I'm thinking seriously of taking his offer. Anyone else think it's NOT a done deal? Should I ask for their 5th rounder to "make it fair"? Astro
  11. Vikings just offered our #11 for their #17 and #73. We'd choose back to back players in Round 3 (#72, 73). However, we'd lose on the point cvalue chart (1175 instead of 1250). Astro
  12. DraftTek is holding a Correspondent's Mock Draft right now, and I'm 2 picks away from the Bills' pick. 1 Miami Jake Long OT Michigan -3 Reach 2 St Louis Chris Long DE Virginia +0 Value 3 Atlanta Glenn Dorsey DT LSU +2 Value 4 Oakland Vernon Gholston DE Ohio St -1 Reach 5 Kansas City Ryan Clady OT Boise St -3 Reach 6 NY Jets Darren McFadden RB Arkansas +3 Value 7 * New England Leodis McKelvin CB Troy St -5 Reach 8 Baltimore Matt Ryan QB Boston College +2 Value Cincy just picked OLB Rivers. Cheatriots are on the clock, and will pick from this list: Ellis, DR-C, Derrick Harvey, Chris Williams, Albert, Mendenhall, Stewart, Merling, Cason, Devin Thomas. My thought is, from listening to you guys, that you'd pick Ellis if he's there, and Harvey if he's not. By the way, I've made trade down offers: Our #1 and #3 to the Cowboys (for both #1's)---Said they would pass, Our #1 and #4 to the Redskins (for their #1 and #2)---They thought it was do-able but waffled and said No, Our #1 and #4 to the Texans (for their #1 and #2)---Haven't Heard Yet, Our #1 and #4 to the Vikings (for their #1 and #2)---Haven't Heard Yet. Give Me Your Thoughts. Astro
  13. In doing this, two things became crystal-clear: 1. The best players available in Round 1 at #11 are defensive players. Only Branden Albert (and I'm not entirely sold on him) is rated as a "Value" pick by DraftTek. My knock on Albert is that he benched the LEAST number of times of the Top 5 OG's. 2. I want more Round 3 picks, because there are more players I like in Round 3 than in Round 4, 5, or 6. I like Rounds 3 and 7 for value at those picks.
  14. I'd pick these guys in order if available in that round. I didn't put guys who won't be there, like Gholston or Ellis in the 1st or Jerod Mayo in the 2nd. If a WR is picked up in an early round, the WR's listed below would fall down the list, but not much. The number before their name in the later rounds is DraftTek's Player Rank, exclusive of need. Round 1 #11--Priority is to get a Difference-Maker, hopefully contributing this year, preferably Offensive Target for Edwards. BPA on offensive side is a guard. Trade Down if possible if it nets an extra 2nd and/or 3rd. Love the 3rd Round. 15. Like it. The Texas trade down makes sense. If they stay where they are, the Texans don't have a choice; they get the leftovers from the Top 3-4 OT's, and OT is a high priority with them. Agree that we'd want a different DE in RD 6-7. How about Rudolph Hardie or Chase Ortiz? Hardie is from Howard, 270 pounds, runs a 4.7 and his bench presses were obscene. Had 25 tackles for loss. Chase Ortiz is from TCU, is leaner and quicker than most DE's is a hustler with strong character up the waz.
  16. Pittsburgh has 31 draft choices on its roster, including 23 from the top four rounds. Jacksonville had 36 drafted players on its roster at the end of the 2007 season. Rucker is a marginal blocker, and has the lowest ypc of the top 8 TE's. He's 4th Rounder material.
  17. We should all ask ourselves this question each year: "Do I suck at my job to the point where my organization would be better off without me?" Then this question: "Do I care?"
  18. Do-able, too. #22-Malcolm Kelly WR #28-James Hardy WR #42- Fred Davis TE #72- Dre Moore DT #73- Geno Hayes OLB #111- Owen Schmitt FB #138- Justin King CB #142- Chris Harrington DE #170- Erik Ainge QB
  19. Dallas wants CB and RB. Both RB's are there at #11, and they'd have a choice of at least 3 top shelf CB's at #11. I'd give them our #11 and a 5th so I can still get Schmitt with one of our 4th's.
  20. Devin Thomas is #14 on some draft boards; I think it's him, Rivers or Rogers-Cromartie. I don't think it'll be Harvey.
  21. There is only one Guard in the first two rounds on my board. You got him.
  22. I like the Devin Thomas / Dwayne Bowe comparison, especially since Dwayne Bowe has really come through in the pros in his rookie year. His yards total and ypc are way up there.
  23. Anybody else notice they used 3 of the same catches twice?
  24. Right Guard Mike McGlynn from Pittsburgh or Safety Tom DeCoud. McGlynn: 6'4 311 - tough and benches buses. DeCoud is from Cal, a tackler, 4.5, 207 lbs.
