  1. I'll put up a poll when the schedule posts have settled down. I think I'll be on the clock tomorrow morning with the Bills' pick. My Plan: The Bills #11 for the Vikes' #17, and extra 3rd Rounder (#73). 1 #17----Limas Sweed WR- Texas 2 #42----Martellus Bennett TE - Texas A&M 3 #72----Antwaun Molden - CB - E Ky (may still go Charles Godfrey here) 3 #73----Mike McGlynn RG - Pgh 4 #111---Andre Fluellen DT - FSU 4 #132---Owen Schmitt FB- WVU 5 #138---Ezra Butler OLB- Nevada (quick for size, nasty) 6 #170---Orlando Skandrick CB - Boise – (May be a Safety) 7 #202---Rudolph Hardie DE - Howard 7 #210---Fernando Velasco OC - Georgia 7 #251---Darrell Strong TE-Pittsburgh UDFA's: Marcus Henry, WR KS, Derek Lokey DT- Texas Marcus Howard DE - Ga Dennis Keyes FS -UCLA Kennard Cox CB Pitt Jehuu Caulcrick FB MichSt Kelin Johnson FS -Ga Jalen Parmele RB - Toledo Chad Hall RB Air Force Paul Smith QB – Tulsa
  2. That just happened in the DraftTek mock. http://www.drafttek.com/2008Corr1.html I traded down with Minnesota, picked up their 3rd rounder, they drafted Harvey. I plan to draft Sweed, but I will check in with TSW first. Astrobot Bills Correspondent www.DraftTek.com
  3. I haven't read anything about the chemistry between Poz and Connor. I still think we have to go CB/TE for a couple picks if we go WR in the first. If we take CB in the first, we're still in for WR/TE in RD#2 and 3. Later ILB's that are attractive draft picks are Philip Wheeler - GT in RD#4 and Jo-Lonn Dunbar -BC in RD#6.
  4. Keeping you up to date here on DraftTek's Correspondent's Draft . I have swapped our #11 pick with the Vikings; they're at #17. In return, we now have their #73. We now have back to back picks in the most important (IMO) Round of the draft--RD3. Round 1: #17 via Vikes Round 2: #42 Round 3: #72 Round 3: #73 via Vikes Round 4: #111 Round 4 #132 comp Round 5: #138 Round 6: #170 Round 7: #202 Round 7: #210 comp Round 7: #251 comp I am going to look at WR, then CB/TE and TE/CB with the first three picks. The debate between Sweed and Devin Thomas continues, but at this point in RD#1 I am leaning toward Sweed's experience and "faster rate of return", even though Thomas's upside, character, and kick returning ability are selling points. The fear of Texas burning us twice enters into the decision, too! Of course, if one of these two isn't there at #17, I won't have a hard decision. I'll check in before I walk to the www.DraftTek.com podium. DraftTek's Correspondent's Draft is shown highlighted in blue here: http://www.drafttek.com/2008Corr1.html My Plan (Comments on any choices welcome): #17---Limas Sweed WR- Texas 215 4.52 or Devin Thomas WR- MichSt, #1, KR 4.4 #42---Martellus Bennett TE - Tx A&M 259 above avg blk 12ypc or Reggie Smith CB- Okla 4.4, safety exper, KR,PR #72---Brad Cottam - TE Tenn inj good blk 16 ypc; or Antwaun Molden CB - E Ky 4.3 or Charles Godfrey - CB -Iowa #73---Mike McGlynn RG - Pgh 6'4 311 bench+ or Red Bryant DT #111--Jamar Adams - SS - Mich 4.5 char + #132--Ezra Butler-OLB Nevada quick for size, nasty or Andre Fluellen DT FSU burst, space eater, pressure #138--Owen Schmitt FB- WVU 247, 5.9ypc, a cult figure in WVA or Brian Johnston DE Gard-Wb fast 280 4.6 gem #170--Craig Stevens TE CAL blk++,best block/rec or Gary Guyton OLB GT 36" vert, 4.47, ~best #'s
  5. Yes, I think Dan Connor falls, possibly as far as Atlanta at the top of Round 2. The most needy at ILB is New England, but...they don't have a first round pick. Ain't that a shame? Other teams needing ILB as a top priority are Miami and Detroit, and neither of them will use their RD#1 on ILB.
  6. Albert was always in that #15-20 range, with no other guards even in RD2. Only knock on him was the bench press, and his long arms make it hard to match the others. The other plus on him is that he may slide to OT if needed.
  7. The Bengals evidently were hoping for Darren McFadden to fall to them at #9!!! When that did not materialize, they traded #9 to KC for Ellis and a 3rd rounder #77.
  8. This leapfrog scenario is taking place before my eyes in our Draft Tek Correspondents Mock Draft taking place here: http://www.drafttek.com/2008Corr1.html Chicago at 14 just contacted me with a better offer than the Vikes had. More soon.
  9. All Right, The trade in our Correspondents' Mock Draft went down, with KC and Cincy switching #5 and #9 picks. Kansas City was at #5. Jake Long was gone, and the next player(s) they were interested in can both (or at least one) can be had at around #10 (Otah and Albert). Cinci offered a 3rd rounder, KC took Branden Albert at 9 instead of 5, and New Orleans is on the clock with eyes on a CB or WR. Bet they take a CB--DR-C. Then we Bills are on the clock. New News has it that Chicago wants to move up, in addition to Minnesota, for our #11. Stay tuned. Astro
  10. It was a reach for Jameel McClain, ILB, Syracuse. He was listed as Player #267, and we foolishly took him at #252. A reach of 16 with the next-to-last pick means that draftTek's Big Board (http://www.drafttek.com/2008players.html) had 16 players ranked higher than our last pick. Actually, I looked, and the players I like better than McClain for our last pick include: Geoff Schwartz - Ore OT Nate Lyles Virginia SS Matterral Richardson Arkansas CB Lamar Myles L'ville 495bench, 128 tkl OLB Henry Smith A&M DT Kerry Brown OG
  11. Other players that will make teams want to trade up for are the trio of OT's (the last team picking gets the leftovers scenario, which at this point the "leftover" team looks like either Carolina at 13, Chicago at 14, or Philly at 19. If one of them wants to leapfrog for their pick of OT, Buffalo is right at the head of that logjam. The other leapfrog scenario is for their choice of RB's. Mendenhall-Stewart could be picked at #14, 15, or 16, and if you want your choice you need to be right around #11.
  12. Right now, the Coordinator's Draft is waiting for a Bengals trade that's taking forever to consummate.
  13. The Washington Redskins take DeSean Jackson-WR, California.
  14. Rankings of Players Regardless of Position http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFLDr...llPositions.htm Harvey's 11th.
  15. I've been told that www.DraftTek.com will re-do its simulation of the draft AFTER EVERY PICK, so you can see how each pick shuffles the team priorities deck for ensuing picks. The plan right now is to do this at least on Day 1 (Rounds 1 and 2 this year). More news as we get closer to the Big Day! Astro
  16. Didn't know that Martellus and Everett were friends. That ices it for me...go WR-TE-CB. Sweed-Bennett-Godfrey or Sweed-Bennett-Molden.
  17. Sure would piss off the Cowboys. Maybe enough to trade their #22 and 3rd Rounder for him.
  18. Here's the secret link: http://www.drafttek.com/2008Corr1.html Click on the Target icon if you don't see the picks. Picks already made have a light blue background. I have made a tentative deal to trade down to the Vikes' #17 for their third rounder.
  19. Glad to know my obsession is appreciated. The unabridged version is an 8GB Excel spreadsheet LOL
  20. I wouldn't even complain if the Bills took two WR's that could push him to a better negotiating spot.
  21. Dragosavich is not ranked by most draft gurus, so he'll likely fall to UDFA.
  22. McFadden was a choice for them, but in this scenario, McFadden went off the board at 6 to the Jets. I've made one last offer to the Vikes--our #11 to slide to #17 and get their #73. I wouldn't mind Ellis even though we pass on our top 3 needs.
  23. I agree. If the right guy is there at RD3 #72, you could pick one there (71Andre Woodson, 77Josh Johnson) or wait until RD6 #170 (162Kevin O'Connell, 176Dennis Dixon). With Trent-JP-Hamdan, I'd be comfortable waiting until RD6 and taking even the injured Dixon.
