  1. Agree. At the very lowest I've seen him lasting until #45. Still a second round pick.
  2. Miami guy made a slip of the tongue yesterday (or the day before) that their pick would be a mainstay on the defensive front for a long time. Hopefully this will clear up in a couple days!
  3. Pollack is the only guy better than Fowler, and he won't be there past RD2, #42. With the DT's in our division, we need a big, smart Center with the ability to keep the middle solid. Justice and Sullivan don't fit that mold, and Legursky-Lichtensteiger-Jamey Richard will be 5th-6th Round picks. Fernando Velasco, the big OC from Georgia, might be a good pick in RD7.
  4. In our DraftTek Correspondents' Draft, the best Center, Mike Pollack, was just picked by PGH in Round 1 at #23. That would be a "Reach" for them; I thought he'd last until #42-44. But if the Steelers' Correspondent thought that was the best player at the pick, then so be it.
  5. We (and other teams) have to decide: Is Losman a season from now going to be worth to the Bills what Andre Woodson or Josh Johnson will be? Those are the 3rd Round QB's this year. From the other side of the coin, is Losman going to be worth to the Ravens (or Packers, or whoever) more than what Andre Woodson or Josh Johnson will be?
  6. Very interesting. Maybe the Bills trade-down is already in place!?
  7. You're basically trading Lito for Reggie Smith, Justin King, or Charles Godfrey.
  8. One of the rules in Chemical Dependency Counseling (also known as The Stadium Wall) is to send chemicals (Merlot is fine, but I prefer a Cab-Merlot blend) to those with more than 4,000 posts.
  9. I respectfully disagree about the top receivers still being there at #42. I think these WR's go in Round 1: Pick 11-Devin Thomas to BUF or NO (10th) or CHI (14th) Pick 19-Limas Sweed to PHI or T-BAY (20th) Pick 24-James Hardy to TEN or T-BAY (20th) Pick 28-Malcolm Kelly to DAL In Round 2, these WR's go before our second pick: Pick 38-DeSean Jackson to BAL (if they pick QB in Round 1) Pick 40-Mario Manningham to NO At this point, the WR's left on the board include: Andre Caldwell - Fast but only 6'0" and dumber than rocks (lowest WR Wonderlic). DeSean Jackson - Fast, but short, light (169 lbs.), and too similar to Parrish in skillset. Mario Manningham - Six foot, character issues, and drops the ball frequently. Early Doucet - 6'0 - May not even be there because Rams are engineering something to take him. Late Round possibilities, which may involve trading down include: Jordy Nelson - The only tall guy in the bunch. 6'3", decent speed. #2 nationally in average receiving per game. Earl Bennett- Again, 6'0. He's fast enough, and set the SEC recep's record. Denver might take him at #43 if we don't. Third Round Leftovers: Pick 65 - Jerome Simpson, CCU 6'2 - possibility if no WR drafted by now. Pick 79 - Eddie Royal - Va Tech Short, but a KR. Similar to Parrish. Pick 83 - Donnie Avery - Houston Short and fast. Similar to Parrish. Our best bet if we go D in Round 1 is to get TE in Round 2 and take Simpson in Round 3. I'd rather go WR in Round 1, TE in Round 2, and take Defense in Round 3 (Red Bryant DT, Dre Moore DE/DT, Bruce Davis OLB, Philip Wheeler ILB).
  10. Reverend Horton Heat - "Sue Jack Daniels" I tried sue-ing. They just laugh and mention something about freedom and responsibility.
  11. Old turf has high quantities of lead. Make sure your children don't lick it. Lead causes learning disabilities and makes you...uh...magnetic and stuff.
  12. I'm undecided. I've usually stayed home, and the fact that DraftTek is updating their simulation with every pick will make it more informative, but it's more fun to celebrate a pick (or jeer) if you're at a bar. Is there a place that most Rochester Bills fans go to? I'm in Penfield, but am willing to travel.
  13. Maybe the Bills brought Devin Thomas in to scare Philly. Philly wants WR's to fall to them; the Bills want to trade down. Philly overpays for a trade-up to #11 and the Bills get their spot and Philly's 3rd and 5th Rounder. Bills Draft then looks like: 1. James Hardy WR 2. Mike Pollack OC 3. Fred Davis TE 3. Chevis Jackson CB 4. Andre Fluellen DT 4. Owen Schmitt FB 5. Chris Harrington DE 5. Ezra Butler OLB 6. Dennis Dixon QB 7. Corey Lynch FS 7. Steven Johnson WR 7. Mark Bradford WR
  14. Sounds like they're panicking. They want WR and OT in the worst way. Clady-Otah-Williams will be gone. Devin Thomas will be gone, and quite possibly Sweed will be gone. What's their plan?
  15. I was wondering if this is what the Bills were thinking, because there are good CB's and TE's available in the second. To me it looks like the CB's (Smith, Godfrey, and maybe King) will get a close look in Round 2, and TE's Bennett/Davis. Smith is the likely CB because he's had Safety experience and is well suited for Cover-2, and can do KR as well. Bennett is the better blocking/receiving guy. I think Bennett goes at pick #42 (where we already are) and Smith falls to #48-49-50 (ATL-PHI-ARI all need CB's). To do this, we would need to talk to teams in the RD2 #44-47 range. At 44, Chicago wants a QB; we offer Losman and our 4th. At 46, Cincy wants a OLB; we offer Crowell for their 2nd and 5th, or Ellison and our 4th. Cro had 11 tackles in the Cincy game last year, one less than their entire LB corps.
  16. I don't think Devin Thomas would be a reach. Malcolm Kelly would be a reach. What would be interesting (and more likely to get the discussion going) is whether taking James Hardy would be a reach at #11, if he was top WR on our board.
  17. Joel Collins - Washington State, FB, RD7, #210, our second to last pick. Bank it. I think Schmitt will be overvalued and this guy will surprise.
  18. Agree. And The 600 yard Evans would have asked for a lot less than the 1700 yard Evans will.
  19. ...or BOTH Longs accept the contract they've been offered!
  20. The front office's advantage is sewing Evans up before TE gets additional WR to divert coverage, a pass-catching TE, a pass-catching smashmouth FB, better field position from the improved D, a risk-taking OC, a QB who can audible, etc. Evans' advantage is to wait.
  21. Modrak made a comment 2 days ago that makes some folks wonder about the selection of a cornerback in RD#1 next Saturday: "There is consideration what you can pick up next time around and not be isolated, and ask, 'What's better for us now and what's better for us in a little while?' " Modrak was talking about both WR and CB. Look at who's available "the next time around" in Round 2: -----Early Doucet WR- LSU 6'0 hvyest - Rams? -----Malcolm Kelly WR- OK biggest 224, 4.55 -----Mario Manningham WR- Mich 6'0 char issues, drops -----Andre Caldwell WR- Florida 6'0 4.37 #2nd fastest WR, low Wonderlic -----Justin King CB-Penn St 4.3 avg tkl, shoulder issues -----Reggie Smith CB- Okla 4.4, safety exper, KR,PR -----Charles Godfrey CB- Chris Brown's favorite CB -----Brandon Flowers CB- Va Tech 5'9" short, good anticipation, char issues -----Charles Godfrey CB - Iowa Chris Brown Rxed; rising quickly From the list, the Bills seem to be zeroed in on two CB's, Reggie Smith (who's been to 1 Bills drive for a visit) and Charles Godfrey, who Bills blogger Chris Brown is quite high on. Cason won't be there at #42 either. Doucet and Kelly are likely gone by the Bills' pick if they stay at #42. Manningham and Flowers are not likely due to character issues. Caldwell scored one of the lower Wonderlic scores and his skillset resembles Parrish too much. To me it looks like the CB's (Smiith, Godfrey, and maybe King) will get a close look in Round 2.
  22. Interesting idea. Given the choice between Rattay, Losman, and the older QB leftovers, I'd take Losman. Now, let's see where that leaves us (and what the Bills said yesterday about keeping Losman). We now have Baltimore's problem (young QB, no experienced backup), and they have ours (Losman).
  23. DR-C would have to be a trade down pick for me. If Leodis McKelvin isn't there at #11, we aren't taking a CB.
