  1. That was the first thing I thought of. "They'll be wanting something--we might be able to provide a choice between the two for a good price."
  2. At first, I was going to jump on this too, as I'm thinking 'TE would cause more matchup problems' but then I thought, "No, Thomas and Hardy would do that just as well, and we can get Craig Stevens like in the 4th or 5th. So, yeah!
  3. Jets did the best in this draft, with Miami a close 2nd. We probably did better than the ****s.
  4. I would also like to see Hardy be a pick, not at #11, but some time between #18 and #41. I think he provides the most problems for a defense when lining up with Evans. Add Fred Davis or Martellus Bennett, and Marshawn, and your defense has a lot to think about.
  5. Totally agree on Hardy. I also prefer McKelvin and Cason to DR-C and Flowers. And I'd be disappointed if we take a OT.
  6. http://www.deankindig.com/Bills/DRAFTBINGO.doc I'm sure some of you will figure out how to make money or drink beer with this. Astro

  8. Pat Kirwan's Mock Draft 4.0 has us taking Cromartie in the 1st and Malcolm Kelly in the 2nd.
  9. This is why I like DraftTek's intention of reworking its simulation after every pick, because it's based a lot on team needs. It just might keep me home on Draft Day. Think of the $$$ I'll save on beer.
  10. And he's saying Sedrick Ellis this year. 1. Miami Dolphins — QB Matt Ryan, Boston College 2. St. Louis Rams — OLT Jake Long, Michigan 3. Atlanta Falcons — DT Glenn Dorsey, LSU 4. Oakland Raiders — DE Vernon Gholston, Ohio State (Jr.) 5. Kansas City Chiefs — OLT Jeff Otah, Pittsburgh 6. New York Jets — OLB Chris Long, Virginia 7. New England Patriots (from San Francisco) — RB Darren McFadden, Arkansas (Jr.) 8. Baltimore Ravens — CB-RS Leodis McKelvin, Troy 9. Cincinnati Bengals — OLT Ryan Clady, Boise State (Jr.) 10. New Orleans Saints — CB-KR Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie 11. Buffalo Bills — DT Sedrick Ellis, USC
  11. If I could have extra picks, 5th Round would be one of the Top 3 Rounds to have them (Round 2 and 3 are the top 2). Maybe we get a 5th Rounder along the way as we move around. I would sure love to see Butler and Johnston in a Bills uni!
  12. Silva is more likely to be a Safety, so I say Butler, unless he's been picked (by Cincy or Pats* would be my guess). Then I'd go Rucker.
  13. Good Post. We should send this to Bob Matthews. How he still has a radio show in ROC is beyond me. It's beyond him, too.
  14. Round 5, Pick #138 This is a Summary of Each Round in the Draft, in reverse order, taking us right up to Saturday's NFL Draft. 16. Pollack and Velasco are the two OC's I'm sold on. If I had to pick a 3rd, it'd be Jamie Richard from Buffalo. Velasco and Richard are probably 7th Rounders, and Pollack would be third on my short list at Round 2: Round 2 #42 1-----Martellus Bennett TE - Tx A&M 259 above avg blk 12ypc 2-----Trevor Laws DT - Notre Dame 3-----Mike Pollak OC -Arizona State (G and C) 4-----Reggie Smith CB- Okla 4.4, safety exper, KR,PR 5-----Justin King CB-Penn St 4.3 avg tkl, shoulder
  17. I'd love to take Hardy at #19, especially since we'd get an extra pick.
  18. I think it's both. 6 wins can be had if your strategy negates the strengths of your division, and preys upon the weaknesses of your division. We have good DT pressure and tall good receivers in our division, so we better have a good O-Line and ways to defend the pass. The *Pats LB's are aging, so quick WR's, TE's, and RB's can beat them. HOWEVER, divisional teams' strengths change with time (For example, the Pats might take Keith Rivers or Dan Connor in this draft). Your strategy has to be proactive, not just reactive.
  19. Up until now, this was the most intelligent thread of the last month!!! It was a great topic, and Great reading!
  20. Right Answer. I would add that Davis's film showed that he was a "tell", meaning you could tell by his early movement whether he was a potential receiver. He would "trot" if he wasn't going to be receiving on that play. Scouts didn't like that. Also, Davis isn't seen as the blocker that Bennett and even Keller and Carlson. HOWEVER, Davis was a playmaker when he was utilized enough.
  21. DeSean Jackson - Too similar to Parrish Mike Jenkins - character issues Aqib Talib - a yapper
  22. He's the player ranked #50 on our Big Board, and we have him going to Philly at #49, which means he's a candidate for our RD#2, #42. FYI, Fred Davis is #49 on the Big Board, and Martellus Bennett is #43.
  23. NFL Draft Blitz Premium Edition had this to say: - "We ran into some interesting cornerback rankings we thought we'd pass along. One AFC East team ranks the top five this way: 1) Mike Jenkins, 2) Antoine Cason, 3) Leodis McKelvin, 4) Brandon Flowers, 5) Tracy Porter. That team had Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie ranked 7th at the position." Anybody else think this is good news? Whoever takes Mike Jenkins can have him. I think he'll be a character issue. He can play man or zone, so that would be a plus with us. His support of the run is better than most of these guys. I like Cason a lot; his 46 straight games without injury and articulate interviews speak volumes to Bills staffers. Has the most INT's of these 7. I also like his sidekick CB Wilrey Fontenot as a UDFA pickup. McKelvin has the physical skill and the game-breaking ability that teams playing lots of man coverage will require. I'd be surprised if he's there at #11, but I'm intrigued that some AFC East team (and all 3 pick before we do) has him 3rd on the list. Flowers might have the anticipation skills some others lack, but he's the smallest of the Top 13 CB's. We have enough tall WR's in our division that it's a factor. Some have mentioned Porter is an attractive selection later on as a safety/corner hybrid. He has the same number of INT's as Jenkins. DR-C looks like an athletic freak, he's big, and the fastest of the Top 10 CB's, and the most INT's of the Top 7. His Division 1-AA competition makes his stats and game tapes suspect, but he still looks better than being number 7 on anyone's list. Talib must have been 6th on this team's list. Again, if you've seen his game tapes, you'd be scratching your head at the #6 ranking. High football IQ, most INT's except for Jenkins and Porter.
