  1. I'll take one first rounder plus their injured rookie Chris Williams.
  2. Bell is looking very good against the 3rd stringers. Gaddis also had a nice game, I thought.
  3. Great story. DiGiorgio is a savvy player, no doubt. Hope Poz, Kavicka, and Crow can take breaks now and then and rest easy.
  4. I'm not worried. (1) Hardy looks like a bona fide end zone threat. (2) Our starting CB (McGee) and LB (Crowell) weren't in there on defense. (3) McKelvin is the real deal on kick returns, and he'll eventually be a starting lockdown corner. (4) Speaking of corners, Reggie Corner shows amazing ability to read the play. He'll also give us 4 decent CB's (McGee, Greer, McKelvin, Corner). (5) Poz looks like he's everywhere. He's regaining confidence as our middle linebacker. (6) Our new defensive linemen looked pretty good. Stroud constantly took 2 men to block him. (7) We need Peters in there at Left Tackle. Every offensive lineman was penalized for false start or lining up wrong. Possible 1st game jitters. Only 1 non-lineman penalty the whole game. (8) I liked what I saw from Chris Ellis at DE. He was nonstop high motor, and very disruptive, (9) Fine looked like a good receiver on a slant over the middle. He'll be playing Schouman's spot at TE. (10) The Bills played VERY vanilla offense tonight. On many punts, Moorman could have RUN the ball to his left and made the first down. The Bills showed very little from their bag of tricks, except for plays where Fred Jackson lined up as a receiver. (11) Losman looked better than Edwards tonight, but not to worry. At the very least, we have 2 good QB's. (12) Special Teams will again be special, Lindell's 40+ yard field goal miss notwithstanding. Concerns: All about our $75 million O-line. (1) Peters not there. (2) Batted down balls at the LOS--we're not clearing out the passing lanes for throws. (3) The 6 false start penalties.
  5. He's looked green but promising in 4 practices I've looked at. I have been very impressed with Butler-Chambers. Matt Murphy (the smallest OL guy) looks pretty good. Langston Walker looks in great shape.
  6. Worst (in order of awfulness) Titans - flaming thumbtack has to go, and the color is 2nd worst to Dolphags Seahawks - Color change iced second place, and the logo is nightmare Miami - 3rd worst logo, and the worst team colors. Panthers - Cool helmet Patriots - second worst logo in the NFL Browns - Where's the Brown? Falcons - should be a caged dog 49'ers - Worst logo? J-E-T-S - Green, White. Whoah. Bengals - If you're the Bengals, you have to have a striped helmet. Fair: Colts - a horseshoe? Bills - out with the new, in with the old Ravens- Eagles- Saints- Lions- Cardinals - Bears - Unimaginative. But black. Best (best first): Texans - Great logo, great colors, and zippy uni Green Bay - Bias from my youth. Only bad part is that green and school bus is not scary Rams - The ramhorn is excellent Jaguars - anything on black looks better, and a jaguar is sharp. Dallas - A star is sort of cowboyish Steelers - Why is the logo only on one side of the helmet? Denver -like the stripe on the side of the pants Buccaneers - beats the face with the knife in his mouth Raiders - Silver and black is cool.

  8. Excellent reference, lost on this audience, but us history majors got it...
  9. This is huge. Old dog, new tricks, new terminology, and new WR's to throw to. The other way it makes the Jets less potent over the long term is that it delays the seasoning of Kellen Clemens (unless they've totally given up on him). We're in Year 2 of seasoning TE, and they're not even in Year 1.
  10. Things not having to do with Bills Football should be on the Off The Wall board. Like Brett Favre. I consider A-11 germane to Bills Football. All we need is two more tight ends, right?
  11. Here's a new proposed Mock Draft by one of the other correspondents. In this one, we're 17th pick, taking the best TE in the draft, Brandon Pettigrew. Eugene Monroe goes 3rd in this one--more likely, IMHO. Astro 2009 NFL Mock Draft 1. Miami - Michael Johnson, DE, Georgia Tech 2. Atlanta - Michael Oher, OT, Ole MIss 3. 12. I know it won't turn out this way, but the Bills would take Mack at #41 (RD2). Mack should end up in the first round before all is said and done. Agree about Crabtree, by the way. He'll shine this year.
  13. The order is based on Vegas's projected odds of each team reaching the Superbowl. It's showing the Fins and Jets picking 2nd and 5th, respectively, and the Bills picking 9th, taking Eugene Monroe OT (to replace Peters?). Monroe is 3rd on the DraftTek Big Board. This is obviously very preliminary, and I didn't have a thing to do with it. Don't shoot the messenger (LOL)!---Astro 2009 NFL Mock Draft 1. Atlanta Falcons – Michael Johnson DE Georgia Tech 2. 14. Get the Poz. I ran a poll here. They told me to get a Poz. I pick it up today (earned with $ from my work with Draftek and the Comeback Game Bills ad) Astro
  15. My country 'tis of thee Sweet land of liberty of the ICE, see?
  16. It was easy to find Rockpile. He was wearing a jersey with "Rockpile" on it. I wore my "Astrobot Stadium Wall" shirt. If all of you at camp were so identified, it'd be a heckuva lot easier to meet y'all. It was a real treat to chat with you, Tom and Jack!
  17. Thanks, everybody for voting. Nearly 60% chose Poz. So... I will be buying a Posluszny jersey!!!
  18. I will be there wearing my "ASTROBOT Stadium Wall" T-Shirt. And buying the Poz jersey 56% of you wallers voted for!
  19. I was thinking Lynch until Chippewaquiddick, now I'm not so sure.
  20. I feel your pain. I have a Winfield and Bledsoe. The Bledsoe is in bad shape, so it can't be a Parrish jersey. My best advice: Don't get in a Silly String War if you're wearing an NFL jersey. BTW, I'm going to be age 60 on the 23rd.
  21. 1. Chambers went to Stanford, a Public Policy and German Studies major. He's smart. 2. He is an Eagle Scout, and still actively involved with Boy Scouts in Ohio. He's classy. 3. He is a Mormon who speaks fluent German. He knows all the swear words, but won't use them. 4. He was a member of the Reduced Shakespeare Company, an 80's troupe that would perform Shakespeare plays in 20 minutes. He's to the point. 5. For three years Chambers started both on offense and defense for his high school, netting 9 sacks and 5 forced fumbles as a DT. He's versatile. 6. He was drafted by Cleveland in the sixth round. He's expendable if Peters returns. 7. Chambers' line didn't allow a sack against Philadelphia (12/30), and got 105 yards for Marshawn. He's a good short-term solution. 8. He played four years of varsity basketball and was a member of the AAU All-Star basketball team. He's tall (6'7") 9. He has 3 daughters, age 5, 4, and 1 1/2. He has three great reasons to be in camp. 10. 53% of a local fan site predicts that Chambers is the logical backup, with Matt Murphy next at 16%. He's the favorite.
  22. I have been betwixt and between deciding which jersey to get at camp (I'll be there Monday, wearing my "Astrobot - The Stadium Wall" T-Shirt). I'm letting the collective Wisdom of the Wall select it. I have narrowed it down for you to Poz, Hardy, Lynch, and Evans. I am a private school teacher and sometimes take students to training camp, so character is important, and since I don't earn scads of extra $$$ it'd be nice if he were with the team for a while. Offense or Defense doesn't matter to me, and I'd be getting the home blue. I've allowed folks to select more than one choice. This should be interesting... Astro
  23. Standing Ovation! The Video Link top right is the #1 biggest improvement. It's a cleaner look, and I like the Stadium Wall Latest Discussions section. Astro
