  1. Other than that, how did you enjoy the play, Mr. Lincoln?
  2. I would add Antoine Caldwell from Alabama to the list of OC's.
  3. Thanks for doing this. I want to see if Pettigrew and Selvie are for real. I've watched each have a very average game, so I'll tune in! Astro
  4. I'm curmudgeonly cross that the article doesn't mention his stint with the Bills. "Wyche coached in the NFL with Cincinnati and Tampa Bay and made it to the Super Bowl with the Bengals after the 1988 season. He ran as a Republican and commandingly won a seat on the Pickens County Council in South Carolina, an area that includes Clemson University. Wyche, once a quarterback at nearby Furman, promised better roads and schools and more jobs."
  5. I guess I feel the way you do. I'm 60. I was over at my brother's, helping him rehab a house, and we worked on painting rooms up until kickoff. When it became clear that the rally fever wasn't shared by our D-Line, I silently picked up a putty knife and started patching the living room. My bro did the same thing. At the end of the day, we were in first place, but more importantly, I'm helping my brother who really needs the help. And helping someone is a decent salve for defeat.
  6. I elevated OLB to top priority on Drafttek's Online Simulator. I changed the other priorities as per my post. Results: 1-Weatherspoon OLB Missouri 2-Pettigrew TE Okla St 3-Egboh DE Stanford I elevated DE to top priority and it still waited until RD2: 1-Chase Coffman TE 2-Maurice Evans DE Penn St 3-Antoine Caldwell OC I elevated OC to top priority: 1-Chase Coffman TE 2-Jonathan Luigs OC Ark 3-Egboh DE Stanford Astro
  7. That's my recommendation. The reason I have him 3rd on my recommendations is that where we'll end up drafting is more rich in linebackers, so I expect an OLB to be picked up first. After I get consensus here, I'm going to change the numbers in the online draft simulator, run a custom draft simulation and report the results to you.
  8. Agree with you. It's Hardy's time to shine. I'd give McKelvin more learning curve time than Hardy. Maybe it's Youboty's time to step up.
  9. Each month I'll do a positional assessment of what you think are the Bills' Weakest Positions, and change our position priorities for DraftTek's Correspondents' Mock Draft. Refer To: http://www.drafttek.com/teamneeds2009.html Right now at www.drafttek.com, the Bills take: RD1, #27---Sean Witherspoon OLB Mizzou RD2, #59---Brandon Pettigrew, TE Oklahoma State RD3, #91--- Antoine Caldwell, OC Alabama Questions: I could see the Bills saying that Fowler isn't the answer at Center, but that Preston is stepping up and Chambers is ready to step in at Tackle, and Butler's almost ready to return. Are you happy with our current positional needs at OG--4 OT--4, OC--2 (where 1 is top priority and 4 is grab for value after round 3)? The Bills may have one of the top 3 LB corps in football. Poz looks the part in the middle. Kawicka Mitchell, who just turned 29 on October 10, is a game-changer. DiGiorgio and Ellison have logged valuable playing time as starters. Angelo Crowell and Alvin Bowen are on IR. Crowell will probably not be a Bill next year, and Bowen could be the heir apparent if he recovers fully. Costanzo and Corto look like nice backups and ST guys. There's room for a sure fire OLB if Crowell is done, more likely a free agent than a drafted player because that's what Fewell and Jauron like. Besides, we have Bowen. OLB will be 4th Round in the 2009 draft. But we currently have OLB as Priority 1 at DraftTek. RECOMMENDATIONS: Round 1: TE---Elevate TE to Priority 1 Round 2: OC---Elevate OC to Priority 2 Round 3: DE---Elevate DE from 3 to Priority 1 Round 4: OLB---Lower OLB to Priority 3 Round 5: WR---Elevate WR from 6 to Priority 4 Round 6: SS---Elevate SS from 9 to 6 (there is no difference between priority 6, 7, or 8) Round 7: FB---Elevate FB from 9 to 6 Let me know what you're thinking. Astro Bills Correspondent, DraftTek.com
  10. First, the look at TE's already playing. Here are the TE's who will be Free Agents in 2009 if they don't get re-signed by their respective teams, with age and yrs in NFL... Desmond Clark TE CHI 31 9 Will Heller--------TE SEA 27 5 Jeff King--------- TE CAR 25 2 Jim Kleinsasser- TE MIN 31 8 Ben Patrick------ TE ARI 24 1 Leonard Pope----TE ARI 25 2 L.J. Smith--------TE PHI 28 5 Daniel Wilcox----TE BAL 31 4 If we take one of these guys, it won't be a 31-year-old. That limits it to Heller, King, Patrick, Pope and Smith. Will Heller is worse than we have. King, 260-lb. 5th RD, 2nd yr. is the receiving type. In his 1 16-game season his 46 catches netted 406 yds. Patrick, 260 lb. 7th RD, 1st yr. played 6 games last year. 7 catches, 73 yd. They'll keep Pope, release King. Pope, 260 lb. 3rd RD, had his best year a year ago, 23 catches 238 yd. LJ Smith, 260 lb. 2nd RD, had his best year 2 years ago. 50 catches 611 yd, and has played fewer and fewer games since. Wilcox, 250 lb UDFA, has never played a full season. His best was 14 games 2 years ago, 20 catches 166 yd. If we can't get Jeff King, watch for the Bills to draft TE early (RD 2 or 3).
  11. I think he meant players who play positions. Not a bad list. We may actually see Jackson on there soon.
  12. I think the Bills are going to DIAL-UP a win tomorrow. Trent will take advantage of your missing MLB and DIAL-UP Evans and especially Parrish over the middle. After the game, Parrish will take his soap -- DIAL --UP to you guys because he won't even break a sweat. No seriously...make a deal with your mother about your grades and get something other than DIAL-UP.
  13. Actually, Farve is the banged-up unit. 2 INT's this week by the Bills.
  14. Cheers! Happy Birthday. A new granddaughter was born yesterday on your b-day: Reese Cristina Astrobot, 20", 7 lbs. 3 oz. We have much to be thankful for!
  15. Let me shake my ball: "Outlook hazy. Try again."
  16. WOW! Congratulations! My son and his wife have a daughter due tomorrow. I'll fix your son up. At 9 lbs 7, Buffalo may have more than a fan--perhaps a TE!
  17. Thanks. Next year--less elaborate. I'll glue a keyhole to my eye and go as a peeping Tom.
  18. Love Halloween. Always have. I still make a costume every year. Here are a few: First 2 pics are this year's Happy Halloween, Everybody! Astro
  19. I agree. The strikes down the field (as the Dolphins did on their first play from scrimmage), a little K-Gun, pick up a tight end...
  20. Mays will go #14 to the Ravens. William Moore will go off #15 to the Chargers. And the Bills, down at #27, will be looking at Witherspoon at LB or Selvie at DE.
  21. What a great thread topic! What does everybody do to stop the schneide? I have already washed the jersey that lost last weekend, made plans to watch at a different place (where we are undefeated, BTW), and have gotten out the all-important October bratwurst.
