  1. Here's my annual list of college players eligible for the draft, and when they will be playing. The number before each players is that player's rank on our current Big Board, which changes practically daily. Here's to a great week of bowl games! Cheers, Astro http://www.deankindig.com/AstroBowls.htm
  2. Are you telling me that San Francisco, who beat us, and has the identical 7-9 record, gets to pick 10th before we do? That record plus being beaten by a team does not trump strength of schedule???? This has to be addressed.
  3. I was thinking the same thing, Promo, but Peters wasn't a shoo-in by dint of fan voting; he was voted in by the players. He commands respect from them. I still want to keep Chambers and Demetrius Bell for their potential, but we may take a look at film before trading Peters. If it isn't Dockery and Walker who are stinking up the line, I'll be surprised.
  4. He will end up going right around the late 4th Round. With TE, you need the blocker who receives, and the receiver who blocks well downfield. To me, Schoumann-Fine are the latter. McCall is the former. And Royal is neither.
  5. I remember, Jokeman. I liked him too. He was a good signing for the Bills. He's the 5th OT, with Chambers on the cusp (FA).

  7. 1. Because nobody has mentioned ILB in 3 months of doing this. 2. Because I thought you might not have a second question.
  8. The Tally for December is DE, OC, OLB, TE. In October, the top 3 were (in order of votes) OLB, TE, OC. In November, the top 3 were DE, TE, OLB. Looks like we're thinking that DE (not on the radar two months ago) --especially quarterback pressures-- would make our defense better, and that a better Center can prevent pressure on our young QB. We're still concerned about our 3rd linebacker (Crowell-Bowen-Ellison not changing our opinion since last month). I'll adjust our positional needs at DraftTek, have them boost a few names up the Big Board, and we'll see what the results are. Astro
  9. This is a dead heat right now between OC and DE. I don't know if this helps others vote, but the DE at 12 right now is not Orakpo, who we project as going at #6. It's Greg Hardy from Mississippi. I watched games this year where Orakpo was next to invisible, but Hardy was relentless. http://drafttek.com/round12009.asp A lot can change in 4 months, but OC Alex Mack is projected right now to be our RD#2 pick. http://drafttek.com/round22009.asp And TE Gresham would be there in RD#3 the way it stands now, and Chase Coffman would not. http://drafttek.com/round32009.asp Astro
  10. A voice of reason. We'll do fine in the upcoming draft if we go for character as well as stellar athletes. Character players who should be there in Round 1 include OLB Aaron Curry, DE Michael Johnson, OT Michael Oher (if you don't know his story read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Oher ), and FS Taylor Mays. I don't think we'd take LB Brian Cushing (Suspicion of steroid use) or DE Greg Hardy (takes plays off).
  11. It's time for Positional Needs poll for www.DraftTek.com . In October, the top 3 were (in order of votes) OLB, TE, OC. In November, the top 3 were DE, TE, OLB. I will adjust our positional preferences at DraftTek based on our votes. Astrobot TSW's Draft Droid Bills Correspondent, DraftTek Bills Current Draft on DraftTek: 12 Buffalo Brian Cushing OLB43 USC 44 Buffalo Alex Mack OC California 76 Buffalo Matt Shaughnessy DE43 Wisconsin 108 Buffalo Travis Beckum TE Wisconsin 140 Buffalo Vance Walker DT43 Georgia Tech
  12. If Modell beats Wilson (or the guy who thought up the Packers' Community Franchise) into the HOF, I'll eat my hat.
  13. Fast Food folks! It was actually a very insightful post.
  14. Agree. Don't know if Bowen/Crowell/Ellison gives us anything at LB for 2009, or whether Chris Ellis gives us anything at DE. Given the sorry state of affairs, our draft and FA acquisitions will mainly be offensive-minded, but I'd still love to see a DE in Round 1.
  15. Draft King isn't even trying. Longest load time, 3 cookies put on my computer...and If I see any draft sites this year that put up "Round 1----CB" for our beloved Bills, I'll put a Plaxico in their pocket. Astrobot www.DraftTek.com
  16. Tim Tebow is the #1 player on our board. http://www.drafttek.com/2008players.html We would have to trade up to get him, even if we lost the rest of our games. Chiefs or Lions draft and misuse him.
  17. You got that right. Turner Gill was 16-of-20 on fourth down conversions this season, or 80% success. The Bills are 4-of-10 on fourth down conversions this season, or 40% success.
  18. Also have to disagree. The Lions have done extremely poorly in the draft. Round 1's 2006--Ernie Sims---severely average LB. 2 sacks, 1 INT for 5 yds in 3 years, 0 forced fumbles. 2005--Mike Williams---2 TD's in 4 yrs, and on his 3rd team. 2004--Roy Williams---no longer with team 2003---Charles Rogers---has played 15 games in his career 2002---Joey Harrington----now with his 4th team It's just as bad with the 2nd and 3rd rounders.
  19. I think Alvin Bowen could be the extra linebacker, and Ellis can be a backup.
  20. Agree here. Seeing as though we are 1-5 against teams employing a 3-4 defense (the exception was the Chargers game), we need to focus on helping ourselves. That said, Pittsburgh will win today.
  21. The Bills #11 was traded by the Bills for the Vikes' #17, and a 3rd Rounder (#73). Trade down with Washington #21 for their #84. 1 #21----DeSean Jackson WR- 53 rec. for 775 yd for the Eagles 2 #42----Martellus Bennett TE – 16.1 avg, 4 TD for the Cowboys 3 #72---- Charles Godfrey FS ----39 Tackles for the Panthers 3 #73----Jordy Nelson WR----24 rec. 268 yards for the Packers 3 #84----Red Bryant DT---8 tkl for the Seahawks 4 #111---Philip Wheeler ILB –---10 tkl for the Colts 4 #132---Owen Schmitt FB- 5 rushes for 21 yards, 1 first down 5 #138---Ezra Butler OLB- waived by 49ers after being arrested 6 #170---Orlando Skandrick CB – Nickel corner with Cowboys 7 #202---Rudolph Hardie DE – Waived by Lions Aug 30
  22. Royal is having his best season, I admit. Is his best enough that we don't shop for a TE this year? I think FA (one of 3 brought in) and/or Round 1-3.
