  1. The only thing I haven't heard talk about is Keiaho coming here. Watch for June to be signed, though. He was always his best at OLB.
  2. This board was high on Bennett when we talked about the draft. If his broken leg has healed, he's one good answer. His healthy year was 2006 when he averaged 16 ypc. We're probably looking at a short contract at $5M per year.
  3. Add me to the trade-down proponents. I'd like to see offensive firepower then addressed with a 1st or 2nd round TE (the greater need, IMHO), and a 4th-6th round WR (Brandon Tate, Austin Collie, Brandon Gibson, Patrick Turner, Quan Cosby, Kenny McKinley).
  4. Buy a Posluszny jersey. I did. My logic: It's the most letters for the same price. And he'll be a good OLB when we draftg Maualuga.
  5. Got it. So FB,CB,OT,RB,QB would be P9--not in play this draft unless someone really falls to us. Thanks.
  6. The Titans will probably say goodbye to FA Justin McCareins. He's going to be the odd man out.
  7. I would not be upset if we drafted a WR on Day2 every year from now on. Steve Johnson has some potential. You don't have to hit every year, but I think it's more of a crapshoot with WR's, so pick one up in the later rounds-- Quan Cosby, Patrick Turner, Aaron Kelly, Kenny McKinley, Darius Passmore.
  8. 'Gox, can you explain the CB and FB being ranked up there on your list?
  9. The Cheat**riots (who now have 2 asterisks) could conceivably move up into the Top 4-5 picks if they wanted to. After the Cassel trade, they currently have picks at #23 (760 points) #34 (560 points) #47 (430 points) #58 (320 points) Total 2070 points This is the equivalent of Pick 4 (1800) or Pick 3 (2200). If Curry falls, this could happen. The Patsies don't have the cap room to sign four RD1-2 players, and everyone knows it. Do I expect Curry to fall to Pick 4? No. Do I expect New England to be a player in our OLB draft maneuverings? Big Time.
  10. I just ran a DraftTek simulation with Seattle out of the running for a WR. It still shows Crabtree going to St. Louis and Seattle taking an OT. Round Pick Team Selection Psn School CRI Delta ReachValue 1 1 Detroit Andre Smith OT Alabama P1 -3 Reach 1 2 St Louis Michael Crabtree WR Texas Tech P1 +1 Value 1 3 Kansas City Aaron Curry OLB Wake Forest P3 +1 Value 1 4 Seattle Eugene Monroe OT Virginia P4R -1 Reach 1 5 Cleveland Malcolm Jenkins CB Ohio State P2 +2 Value 1 6 Cincinnati Michael Oher OT Mississippi P1 -3 Reach 1 7 Oakland Everette Brown DE Florida State P2 -3 Reach 1 8 Jacksonville Jason Smith OT Baylor P3 -3 Reach 1 9 Green Bay BJ Raji DT Boston College P1 +1 Value 1 10 San Francisco Brian Orakpo DE Texas P3 -2 Reach 1 11 Buffalo Brian Cushing OLB USC P3R -5 Reach 1 12 Denver Rey Maualuga ILB USC P2 -3 Reach
  11. I was thinking that Crabtree would fall to Cincinnati, and another OT would fall.
  12. Let me try to summarize what you're saying so far. Offense Change FB to P9. --We're not drafting a Fullback. Change OC to P3 and OG to P2 (for now). --Would be nice to bring a guy like Eric Wood along if we got him in RD3. Change WR to P9. --You're comfortable, especially if we picked up a guy like Coles. Defense DE is still P1 --Rush defender and pass rusher. DT is still P3 --You need the depth possibly to replace McCargo as the #4. OLB is still P2 --You're not thrilled with what we have, and Crowell will probably be signed elsewhere. ILB is P3 --In other words, if Raji and Cushing are gone and Maualuga is BPA, take him. SS=P6 (depth need---BPA at Safety still ON) FS=P4 (depth need---BPA at Safety still ON) Still don't understand the love for CB in this draft. Will keep at P9 unless I hear some more reasoning. The only answer I like so far is that it's a deep draft at CB, but that's a P6 at the very most--late rounder with some injury, perhaps.
  13. We have a report at Buffalo Rumblings that Keary Colbert WR might be coming. Colberts strengths are route running and possession receiving. From buffalorumblings: FA WR Keary Colbert Looking at the Bills by cmc2769 on Mar 2, 2009 4:59 PM EST 3 comments Could be a great get for the bills great route runner with awsome hands. Went to USC played with Carolina, Denver,Seattle and Detroit. I had a chance to chat with him the other day and he stated he was open to coming to the bills to compete for a job. He also said he loves the fans in Buffalo and loves the environment. he is hoping the bills and he come to a contract agreement.
  14. I am The Bills Correspondent to www.drafttek.com, and each month I've asked you what the positional needs are for the Bills. Every team does this, and a computer makes the picks based on our Big Board and Team Needs. Over the last few months we've been vacillating between DE and OLB, with Tight End always right in there. Here is what I have for the Bills' Team Needs right now: QB=P9 (not likely to draft) RB=P4 (depth need) WR=P4 (depth need) OT=P9 (not likely to draft) OG=P6 (late round fill needs) TE=P2 (team is in great need of starting calliber talent and will reach to fill the need. Reach isn't quite as great as P1) OC=P3 (team is in need of starting caliber talent, but will not reach for it) FB=P5 ( team absolutely wants to fill --within reason--but does not want to invest a high draft pick. Converts to P3 in RD4) DE=P1 (can be only one P1; absolutely highest priority team need; will reach 10 spots on our Big Board to fill need) DT=P3 (team is in need of starting caliber talent, but will not reach for it) OLB=P2 (team is in great need of starting calliber talent and will reach to fill the need. Reach isn't quite as great as P1) ILB=P4 (depth need) SS=P4 (depth need---BPA at Safety ON) FS=P4 (depth need---BPA at Safety ON) CB=P9 (not likely to draft) Some of the things I'm thinking: ---------We may not use FB as much this year and McIntyre is re-signed. Change FB to P9??? ---------We have a OC but no OG unless they trade for Waters. Change OC to P4, and Change OG to P3 (even P2)??? ---------Is DT a P3??? ---------Is ILB higher than P4 because you'd like Maualuga in RD1 if it comes down to Tyson Jackson DE, Cushing or 'Luga? ---------I have selected to pick BPA at safety. Do we really want a FS and not a SS or vice versa? I'll take your thoughts and submit changes later on tonight. Thanks for your input. Astro
  15. "On another front, I talked to the Laveranues Coles camp Sunday and the Bills want him badly. They want to team him with the speedy Lee Evans. Coles would be the intermediate receiver while Evans would be the deep threat. Makes sense. Coles isn't in a hurry to make a decision, however, and will see what else develops. Surprisingly, I was told that the Dolphins and Browns are not in the running, as many have speculated. Both teams are pretty much set at receiver. If Coles ends up with the Bills, the number of ex-Jets in the AFC East with something to prove against their former teams will triple. In addition to QB Chad Pennington (Dolphins), the Jets would face Baker (Patriots) and Coles. And all those players are in a position to impact the game." --NJ.com
  16. The deal for Coles is Not going to happen tonight. Ralph is watching "Celebrity Apprentice" and is not to be disturbed.
  17. Here are the trades/signings Friday and Saturday we've already factored into our current draft: 1) Houston gets Minnesota 4th round pick for Sage Rosenfels 2) Minnesota Team Needs adjustment at QB 3) Washington DT team needs change for Haynesworth addition 4) Chicago OT team needs change 5) Tennessee DT team needs change (-Haynesworth) 6) Tampa Bay TE team needs change (Winslow) 7) Cleveland gets Tampa Bay's #50 overall, change TE need 8) Rams OC and SS team needs change 9) Denver RB team needs change (Arrington, Buckhalter) 10) NYJets ILB team need change (Bart Scott) 11) Kansas City (Cassel, Vrabel) 12) Dallas (Henry, Kitna) 13) Giants (Boley, Bernard) 14) Eagles get Jets 5th rounder (Shepard) 15) Jets CB team needs change (Shepard) 16) Dallas ILB team needs change (Brooking)
  18. This is the one I work for. http://www.drafttek.com/round12009.asp Adjustments have already been made for nearly all of the new signings, and the draft simulator allows you to grab players, do trade scenarios, etc.
  19. I disagree. Hardy will start on IR, so it'd be Evans-Coles-Reed-Johnson-Parrish-Jenkins (or a draft pick in the same round as Johnson--Quan Cosby?) until Hardy returns.
  20. I think he might have meant it implied that Larry Fitzgerald and Laveanues Coles were the first two to 1BD.
  21. I hate that kind of journalistic tantalizing. "Kelly Plans Comeback", and you find out it's about Kelly Tires being recalled.
  22. "Linebacker Jamie Winborn (5’11” 230) is an eight-year NFL veteran that is coming off a career season in 2008. Making 14 starts for the Denver Broncos last season after replacing Boss Bailey at strong side linebacker, Winborn led the team in tackles (117) and pass breakups (11). He also had a half sack." I'm excited about Winborn. About Florence: "San Diego’s former second-round pick (2003) had two of his best seasons in 2006 and 2007 recording over 120 tackles, 23 pass breakups and five interceptions. Florence also had a pair of interceptions in the 2007 postseason with one sealing a Wild Card victory over Tennessee for the Chargers and the other coming against New England’s Tom Brady in the AFC Championship game."
  23. CBSSports.com TSX STATS LLC Headlines Brooks to decide on future: The St. Petersburg Times reports that Bucs coach Raheem Morris thinks LB Derrick Brooks, who was released from Tampa Bay on Wednesday, will retire after 14 seasons. Brooks, 35, will take a few days to digest what happened Wednesday before deciding on his future. "I think he retires," said Morris. "But honestly, I don't know." But Bucs LB coach Joe Barry, a guy Brooks has asked for an honest evaluation of his play following each season, disagrees. "I think he can and will play next year," Barry said. (Updated 02/26/2009).
  24. Would agree. TE, OC, LB all very deep positions, and I bet RB and CB will slide down into Round 4 as well. Not to say that we should take a CB.
  25. Last time I munched the draft sites was Feb 9, before the combine. These 66 sites have posted new drafts since February 9, most of them posting after the combine began. There are many more choosing Everette Brown for the Bills, Lots choose Oh-Sack-Po, and a few more Maybins and Maclins. 2 sites say we get Raji, and 4 sites say Michael Johnson. If there are sites you want me to watch that update regularly, I'll add them...AstroBOT http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/2009/20...r=33&page=2 Aaron Curry, LB, Wake Forest http://footballhappyhour.com/2009/02/footb...nfl-mock-draft/ Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn St http://nfldraftpreview.webs.com/zachsmockdraft.htm Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn St http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/2009/20...r=22&page=2 Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn St http://www.insidetheeagles.com/2009mockdraft.htm Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn St http://www.squidoo.com/Draft-Mock-NFL Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn St http://www.draftdaddy.com/MD/index.htm BJ Raji, DT, Boston College http://www.drafttek.com/round12009.asp BJ Raji, DT, Boston College http://sportsfantasyguide.com/2009-nfl-draft-11-20/ Brandon Pettigrew, TE http://warroomreport.com/index.php?option=...63&Itemid=1 Brandon Pettigrew, TE http://www.draftseason.com/lupagus-nfl-mock-draft Brandon Pettigrew, TE http://www.junkyardjake.com/NFLDraft/index.htm Brandon Pettigrew, TE http://www.nfldraftblitz.com/mockdrafts.htm Brandon Pettigrew, TE http://www.nfldraftdog.com/Mock_Drafts/200..._mock_draft.htm Brandon Pettigrew, TE http://www.nflspot.com/index.php/ncaa-nfl-...ock-drafts.html Brandon Pettigrew, TE http://www.ninersnation.com/2009/1/23/7346...-nation-mock-dr Brandon Pettigrew, TE http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFLDr...09/mock2329.htm Brandon Pettigrew, TE http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/mock Brian Cushing, LB, http://broncotalk.net/2009/02/mr-easts-its...ble-mock-draft/ Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://draftboardinsider.com/?cat=3 Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://footballjabber.com/nfl-draft/nfl-mo...ck-draft-11-20/ Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://forums.sportsjabber.net/sjforums/sh...read.php?t=1513 Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://nfldraft101.com/mocks/current.jsp Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://nfldraftpreview.webs.com/ Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://saturdays2sundays.com/?page_id=3 Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://walterfootball.com/draft2009.php Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://www.draftcountdown.com/sub/Mock-Draft-A.php Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://www.draftgreenroom.com/gallery/5592276_ozS8j/2 Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://www.draftseason.com/nfl-mock-draft Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://www.fantasyfootballxtreme.com/nfl-d...nfl-mock-draft/ Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/2009/20...r=13&page=2 Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/2009/20...t.cfm?writer=28 Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://www.mynfldraft.com/NFL-Mock-Draft Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://www.thehuddlereport.com/ Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://www.theobr.com/public/mdm/posTrendD...=127&pos=11 Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://nflhouse.com/draft/static/2009-mock-draft.html DJ Moore, CB, Vanderbilt http://blogg.visir.is/nfldraft/?page_id=241 Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://patsdraft.com/Draft_09.html Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://texasfirecrackers.com/hotspicysportssnacks/ Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://thefootballexpert.com/mockdraft.html Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://thepewterplank.com/2009/01/23/pewte...aft-version-11/ Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://www.draftnotebook.com/draft%20projection.htm Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://www.draftseason.com/outhouse-nfl-mock-draft Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://www.magnificentmorons.com/2009/02/n...ficent-pastime/ Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://www.mockdraftgurus.com/NFL/nflmockdraft.php Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://www.sportsagentblog.com/2009/02/08/...nfl-mock-draft/ Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://broncosfreaks.com/ Jason Smith - OT - Baylor http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/28778620/ Jason Smith - OT - Baylor http://profootball.scout.com/2/839583.html Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri* http://prosportsdraft.webs.com/mockdraft.htm Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri* http://www.900footballlinks.net/2009mockdrafts.htm Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri* http://www.draftace.com/mockdraft.htm Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri* http://www.packerchatters.com/draft/mock_draft/ Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri* http://www.squidoo.com/2009-NFL-Mock-Draft Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri* http://draftacademy.blogspot.com/ Larry English, LB http://cdsdraft.com/mocks/round-1.html Michael Johnson, DE, GaTech http://obsessedwithsports.com/2008/11/12/k...nfl-mock-draft/ Michael Johnson, DE, GaTech http://www.kornheiserscartel.com/2009/02/10137.html Michael Johnson, DE, GaTech http://www.nepatriotsdraft.com/2008/05/200...mock-draft.html Michael Johnson, DE, GaTech http://www.draftking.com/nfl/2009/mockdraft.shtml Michael Oher, OT, Ole Miss http://thehazean.com/mock-drafts/ Peria Jerry, DT, Ole Miss http://www.nflmockdraftaces.com/ Rey Maualuga, ILB, USC http://www.sundaykickoff.com/ROUND1.html Rey Maualuga, LB, USC http://heardsfootballreport.com/mockdraft.html Vontae Davis, CB, Illinois http://www.sportprojections.com/group/nfldraft Vontae Davis, CB, Illinois http://www.nfldraftspecialist.com/nfldraftspecialist.asp William Moore, S, Missouri
