  1. Let's look at the DE's available at our pick in each round: RD1- Brian Orakpo---Could go to Cleveland at #5. We'll know a lot more about our chances for a DE after their pick. Everette Brown---Could go to Oakland or Green Bay at #7 or #9. Tyson Jackson---Could go to Green Bay or Buffalo. Aaron Maybin----Probably a 3-4 linebacker. Sorry. RD2- Michael Johnson----St. Louis would take him before us. Robert Ayers----Best bet to be there when we pick, and he could fill the role better than Kelsay. Evander Hood---More of a 3-4 Connor Barwin---A good 2nd choice in RD2; not yet as good as Kelsay but better than Ellis. Jarron Gilbert---More of a 3-4 We'll have to pull the trigger on Jackson in RD1, move up, or hope for Ayers.
  2. NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth has been indicted on two misdemeanor traffic charges in Tennessee after an accident that seriously injured another driver. District Attorney Kim Helper says Haynesworth faces charges of reckless driving and having expired registration. Haynesworth, a former Tennessee Titan who signed with the Redskins last month, was released after surrendering Wednesday. Maximum punishment is six months in jail and a $500 fine on the reckless driving charge and 30 days and a $50 fine for the other charge. The charges come from a Dec. 13 incident in which police say Haynesworth was trying to pass another driver, who crashed into a concrete median. Haynesworth's agent didn't immediately respond to an e-mail seeking comment.
  3. I've run DraftTek's simulator on the possible Peters trade, taking Philly's 21, 28, and RD4 pick. We sign Orlando Pace to a one year contract. Here's that draft: 11 Buffalo Brian Cushing OLB43 USC 21 Buffalo Peria Jerry DT43 Mississippi 28 Buffalo Michael Johnson DE43 Georgia Tech 42 Buffalo Jared Cook TE South Carolina 75 Buffalo Andy Levitre OG Oregon State 106 Buffalo Jason Phillips ILB TCU 117 Buffalo A.Q. Shipley OC Penn State 139 Buffalo Glen Coffee RB Alabama 170 Buffalo Keith Fitzhugh SS Mississippi St 202 Buffalo Marcus McClinton FS Kentucky We move Pace to LT with Chambers backing up, with Levitre and Shipley backing up Walker and Hangartener. Jared Cook is the TE competing with Schouman. We have Stroud-Jerry in the middle with Schobel and Michael Johnson outside. LB's are Mitchell-Poz-Cushing, with new backup Jason Phillips.
  4. Fixed. Thanks, Jesus. 11-Brian Cushing OLB 21-Alex Mack OC or Max Unger OG 28-Eben Britton OT 42-Robert Ayers DE 75-James Casey TE 85-Fenuki Tupou OG 106-Kraig Urbik OG 139-Vance Walker DT 170-Ian Campbell DE 202-Gartrell Johnson RB
  5. The Eagles own two first round selections in the 2009 Draft, including four (1st-21, 1st-28, 2nd-53, 3rd-85,) of the first eighty-five picks in the draft. What would it take for you to trade Peters? I would need two firsts and a 3rd, and here's my draft: 11-Brian Cushing OLB 21-Alex Mack OC or Max Unger OG 28-Eben Britton OT 42-Robert Ayers DE 75-James Casey TE 85-Fenuki Tupou OG 106-Kraig Urbik OG 139-Vance Walker DT 170-Ian Campbell DE 202-Gartrell Johnson RB
  6. How bad would a draft of Pettigrew-Smith-Robinson be after trading down?
  7. Thanks, Gang! I'll Lock him out and we'll see who we get tomorrow. Astro
  8. To me, that would be an ideal draft, 'Gox.
  9. Tomorrow's DraftTek computer mock draft would have andre Smith coming to the Bills with their #11 pick. Should I Lock him out, so it has to pick OG later on? How would you feel if he was our pick at #11? Astro
  10. I like where Springs says, "I can't cover those little waterbug receivers." We have one of them, and we'll be lining him up right next to TO.
  11. My day would begin with the tradedown that will result when the Eagles realize they can CHOOSE their RB, TE, or WR in Round 1 with a trade up to #11. The Bills give their 4th Rounder in the deal, getting the #21 and #28 picks. 1-Brandon Pettigrew TE----the blocking receiver that Royal wasn't. 1-Peria Jerry DT-----Watch how Stroud-Jerry in the middle makes Schobel and Ayers look good. 2-Robert Ayers DE---Anyone see him at Tennessee? 3-Kraig Urbik OG----The best run blocker in the draft 5-Courtney Greene SS----Rutgers. Free Safety will be Donte. 6-Gartrell Johnson RB-----Big Back with a heavy hammer. 7-Graham Harrell QB------Nice competition at #3.
  12. Yes. At DraftTek, we are calling Clay Mathews a OLB34, the lighter LB types which includes Brian Orakpo and Clay Matthews (and possibly Clint Sintim) in RD1. OLB43's in Round 1 are Aaron Curry and Everette Brown (both to be gone by our pick), Brian Cushing, Aaron Maybin, and Larry English. In Round 2, the only OLB43 is Marcus Freeman. This makes me think we take OLB in Free Agency so that we can take a DE or BPA in RD1.
  13. Agree. I'd have Evans-Owens 2nd to FitzBoldin.
  14. We have Ayers going to the Bills in Round 2. http://www.drafttek.com/round22009.asp Astro
  15. LOVE IT. Your best pick is one we haven't talked much about--Kraig Urbik, probably the best run blocking Guard in this draft!!
  16. Here's one who'll be this year's D1-AA success:Ramses Barden. He's 6'6" 227 pounds (think Plaxico Burress size). 67 receptions, 1,257 yds, 18 TD's. He'd be value in RD#3. From ESPN.com: "Ramses Barden rising quickly||Barden is shooting up draft boards thanks to his size (6-foot-6, 220 pounds) and athleticism. While he doesn't have elite top-end speed Ramses does have impressive body control and soft hands. He dominated FCS competition this season, catching a touchdown once in every four receptions, and he showed against Wisconsin (6 rec., 83 yds., 1 TD) that he can hold his own against top competition. Ramses figures to come off the board early on Day 2 but could go as early as the late second round."
  17. I think you've hit the nail on the head. If we take Cushing-Matthews-Sintim in Round 1-2, why tie up $ with Keiaho or June?
  18. Nicks was the guy who won the ESPN receivers competition a couple of weeks back--the one where you stand in the middle of a circle and JUGS machines fire balls at you. Nicks didn't miss a one. He then had to go through the ladder of chains on the ground (was very impressed with the video that shows Steve Johnson doing this), move some tackling dummies, and race to the finish.
  19. It looks like we want a TE here in Round 2. How great would it be if the Bills signed a FA tight end so that we could consider the BPA here?
  20. Ralph has said he wants playmakers. I tried to get the best value in each round. Let me know who you would take. 1- Trade our RD3 for Philly's #21 and #28. 1-Brandon Pettigrew, TE-----Keeps defenses off-guard because he can block and receive. 1-Hakeem Nicks, WR-----Red Zone Weapon gives us Evans-Hardy-Nicks-Parrish inside the 20. 2-Shonn Greene RB------1850 yards this year with 20 TD's (4 against Wisconsin), 6th most in NCAA history. 4-Brandon Tate, WR/KR------19.2 yards per catch last year and 23.5 this year. 5-Stephen McGee, QB-----Texas A&M quarterback is "slash" type, extremely athletic, good arm. 6-Johnny Knox WR--------Small WR from Abilene Christian ran a 4.34 at the combine. Here's a great analysis. 7-Gartrell Johnson RB--------Big back who has been .
  21. I'm beginning to think that the TE we need is either Pettigrew or nothing. That's because I want my tight end able to block, and blocking is a major flaw in each tight end except Pettigrew. We may reach for him, or we may trade down for him, but I think if you don't see Scheffler/Gonzales sign with us, that's who we get.
  22. It's a 3-way race right now. We'll give it another hour. Some of us would want 3 DE's in the first 2 rounds!
