  1. Pat Thomas is not heir apparent as OLB. I think this is a smokescreen and that we draft Cushing / Pettigrew in RD#1, Barwin / Ayers in RD#2.
  2. I'd prefer Robinson OG in the 2nd to Caldwell OC in the 3rd. Caldwell was pretty well handled in the bowl game (as was his team, which looked slow). Plus we have a FA Center and don't seem to be signing a Guard. Have you looked at our depth chart, front office?
  3. Fully Agree, 'Gox. The fact that there are three Tampa-2 OLB's makes it even better/cheaper to get one of them--you know you can have one, and you don't have to worry about whether OLB Cushing is there in round 1!!!
  4. Also, keep in mind the Bills are still working behind the curtain, rather than publicly "playing" the media, giving Peters an ultimatum, or parading OT's through Buffalo. This may last until Draft Day, and that's 40 days and 40 nights.
  5. Good work, WVU. It shows considerable work and insight because it isn't a rehash of every website out there. You made some tough choices. Props for your courage inm sharing them here.
  6. We can make your scenario work, I think. Trade to #20-Pick up 2nd Rounder #20-Robert Ayers DE #33-Alex Mack OC #43-Vance Walker, DE/DT #52-Duke Robinson OG #75-Travis Beckum TE #106-Kraig Urbik, OG Wisconsin ---like this guy: We now have 2 best runblockers in the draft. #139-Scott McKillop ILB Pittsburgh #170-Sammie Lee Hill DT Stillman
  7. You could be right! A Munch of 10 draft sites that updated in the last 24 hours: (We draft RD2#42) AT WHAT PICK IS AYERS TAKEN? Football Expert: #49 East Coast Sports: #37 DraftTek: #46 Sunday Kickoff: #28 War Room Report: 24th Walter Football:#21 Mock Draft Gurus:#31 900 Football: #30 Huddle Report:#30 NewSportDraft:#75 to the Bills
  8. Jauron says he'd like to have 15 guys in camp via FA, draft, and College FA. We have 2 Centers: Hangartener and Philip. We have 6 Tackles including Peters, Walker, Chambers, Bell, Jon Scott, and Chris Denman. We have 2 Guards-- Butler and Rodd (?). I bet he's looking for 3 OG's, 1 OT, and one OC.
  9. I think I like Southerland in the 7th for us better than the LSU FB in Round 6 in my sig!!! I will look further into it. Here's my favorite Southerland block: He's (of course) the upback who wastes 2 guys on the Thomas Brown touchdown. My favorite Quinn Johnson video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLMppXE97kE The commentators call him a Larry Csonka.
  10. For our "Scheme" most say that Peria Jerry is the best match; that he would be the better UT and that Raji would be the better NT. Time will tell. Pretty sure we won't see Raji there at our pick, and we won't settle for Jerry at #11.
  11. I like your draft, BGiM, even the 7th Rounder. Isn't Southerland the guy who blocked so well for Thomas Brown?
  12. I think Dorsey-Raji in the middle is the dictionary definition of "critical mass". If Raji doesn't go to the Chiefs, someone else will take him right about here--say Indy, Tampa, Tennessee.
  13. It WAS fun! The whole FA period and draft is fun. I wouldn't be on TSW and DraftTek if it wasn't. It's a 7 week diversion that brings hope into every NFL city. Read some other team boards and blogs, and you see the same names mentioned. But it will be fun to see how this all shakes out.
  14. I bet KC will take Raji earlier now, at the 3rd pick, with Seattle more definitely going LT with their pick. So if I had to guess now: 1 Detroit Aaron Curry OLB 2 St Louis Michael Crabtree WR 3 KC BJ Raji DT 4 Seattle Jason Smith OT 5 Cleveland Brian Orakpo DE 6 Cincinnati Eugene Monroe OT 7 Oakland Everette Brown DE 8 Jville Matthew Stafford QB 9 G Bay Tyson Jackson DE 10 San Fran Michael Oher OT Leaving these guys on the board at our pick: Andre Smith OT Rey Maualuga ILB James Laurinaitis ILB Malcolm Jenkins CB Brian Cushing OLB Knowshon Moreno RB Mark Sanchez QB Jeremy Maclin WR Peria Jerry DT Brandon Pettigrew TE Clay Matthews OLB
  15. Hey, Gox. I think you mean Beatty at the #21 spot. Here's that simulation draft from www.DraftTek.com. The Eagles take Andre Smith (now the 4th ranked LT) at #11, and Chris Wells (RB) at #28. They get what they want. Detroit at #20 takes Brandon Pettigrew, and our plan is foiled temporarily. The Bills take LT William Beatty at #21, DE Robert Ayers at #42, Jared Cook TE at the Eagles RD2 pick, Andy Levitre OG at their RD3, and Alex Magee DT from Purdue with their RD4. We get the Eagles RD4 at #117 and take Jason Phillips ILB out of TCU. At the Philly pick in RD5#133 we take A.Q. Shipley OC Penn State, and at #139 we nab Courtney Greene SS Rutgers. At our 170 we take Chris Clemons FS Clemson, and the computer takes the BPA in Round 7, Arian Foster RB Tennessee. Note that Robinson and Sidbury weren't available at the the second round picks.
  16. I lost my cousin in a DWI accident. I've forgiven the drunk who drove into the telephone pole, saving his life but killing his date. But it seems like such a waste of humanity--The wrong one lived.
  17. Philly has an insane number of picks: RD1 - 21 RD1- 28 RD2- 53 RD3- 85 RD4- 117 RD5- 133, 145, 149 RD6- 181 RD7- 213 I'd trade Peters to Philly for their RD1-21, RD2-53, RD4-117 and RD5-133. We'll bring in two good players in each of our need positions DE, TE, OG, FS--plus one at ILB and DT: 11-Trade Up To Pick 5 for Jason Smith OT Baylor 21-Trade Up To Pick 5 for Jason Smith OT Baylor 42-Connor Barwin DE Cincinnati 53-Duke Robinson OG Oklahoma 75-James Casey TE Rice or Coffman (I think 1 will be there; GBay takes the other one) 106- Derek Pegues FS Mississippi St 117-Cornelius Ingram TE Florida 133-Jason Phillips ILB TCU 139-Vance Walker DT43 Georgia Tech 145-Matt Shaughnessy DE43 Wisconsin 170-Chris Clemons FS Clemson 202-Andy Kemp OG Wisconsin
  18. Intriguing. I ran the DraftTek Simulator and it takes Pettigrew in Round 1 (TE done), forced picking LT Beatty in Round 2 (LT done, although I notice Drew Robinson LG would have been a better choice at that pick), Round 3 would be Rashad Johnson (FS Alabama), and Round 4 would be Nic Harris (OLB Oklahoma). Not a bad way to go. We end up with Peppers Pace Pettigrew Robinson or Beatty Rashad Johnson Nic Harris
  19. If they use the Pick Value Chart, they would realize they could even get the #9 pick instead of our #11. It is possible that he's already checked with GBay and SanFran and they don't want to do it. Astrobot, Bills Correspondent www.DraftTek.com
  20. We'll have a linebacker by Tuesday at the latest. I don't want this to end talk of Cushing. Do you?
  21. We have Everette Brown going to Oakland with the 7th pick. We also see him as a 4-3 guy, and a (dare I say it because Jauron said it) "situational" pass rusher.
  22. I must underscore that I didn't go to Detroit, Detroit came to us, stated what they wanted (the best LB and a Top 5 LT, if Andre Smith qualifies any more), and I agreed. He said to talk to Brandon and convince him to pull this trade LOL. Astro
  23. A Detroit fan emailed me today and asked, "Would the Bills trade their #11 to us for our #20 and our RD2 pick (#33)? I'd do that in a heartbeat. I used DraftTek's Online Draft Simulator to make the trade and Grab Pettigrew. Detroit likes it because they were after Curry and an O-Line guy in RD1. 24. I still like Cushing, and (after the draft smoke clears) I will see how we couldn't have passed on this guy. But it doesn't address DE rush, and it doesn't address TE hole. The next wake of FA's (Keiaho or June) might signal that the press for OLB in RD1 is over.
  25. I don't expect any of Jason Smith, Eugene Monroe or Michael Oher to be there at 11, but we'll see.
