  1. I think we are sitting in a great spot at #11, but I don't think the players we want will be there. Some will be gone (Aaron Curry or Everette Brown), and some would be available a bit later (Pettigrew, Peria Jerry). I did some reasearch on who might trade up and why. (Drafts using Draftek's Online Draft Simulator, www.drafttek.com) SCENARIO #1: Philadelphia looks less and less likely to be that trade partner despite their #21 and #28 picks. They think Moreno will fall to them at #21, and Hakeem Nicks at #28. Why trade up? Well, if they want to assure themselves of a LT, they may do it. MODERATELY LIKELY ----------------21 Buffalo Brandon Pettigrew TE Oklahoma St ----------------28 Buffalo Robert Ayers DE43 Tennessee ----------------42 Buffalo Evander Hood DT43 Missouri ----------------75 Buffalo Andy Levitre OG Oregon State ----------------110 Buffalo Jonathan Casillas OLB43 Wisconsin ----------------147 Buffalo Cecil Newton OC Tennessee State SCENARIO #2: The NY Jets want a QB, and trade their 1st and 2nd rounder (see other thread). LEAST LIKELY ----------------17 Buffalo Brandon Pettigrew TE Oklahoma St ----------------42 Buffalo Evander Hood DT43 Missouri ----------------52 Buffalo Paul Kruger DE43 Utah ----------------75 Buffalo Andy Levitre OG Oregon State ----------------110 Buffalo Jonathan Casillas OLB43 Wisconsin SCENARIO #3: Houston at #15 sees they won't get Everette Brown, so they trade up with Buffalo to get Cushing. They give us RD3#77. MOST LIKELY ----------------15 Buffalo Brian Cushing OLB43 USC ----------------75 Buffalo Lawrence Sidbury Jr. DE43 Richmond ----------------77 Buffalo Shawn Nelson TE Southern Miss ----------------110 Buffalo Xavier Fulton OG Illinois SCENARIO #4: Chicago wants one of the Top 4 Left Tackles and needs to leapfrog Washington. They give us their #18, #84, and #154. MODERATELY LIKELY ----------------18 Buffalo Brandon Pettigrew TE Oklahoma St ----------------42 Buffalo Evander Hood DT43 Missouri ----------------75 Buffalo Lawrence Sidbury Jr. DE43 Richmond ----------------84 Buffalo Andy Levitre OG Oregon State ----------------110 Buffalo Jonathan Casillas OLB43 Wisconsin SCENARIO #5: Minnesota at #22 wants Malcolm Jenkins, and they know that New Orleans at #14 has expressed an interest. They offer their #22 and their #54 for the chance at Jenkins. MODERATELY LIKELY ----------------22 Buffalo Brandon Pettigrew TE Oklahoma St ----------------42 Buffalo Evander Hood DT43 Missouri ----------------54 Buffalo Paul Kruger DE43 Utah ----------------75 Buffalo Andy Levitre OG Oregon State ----------------110 Buffalo Jason Williams OLB43 Western Illinois SCENARIO #7: As in my sig, Trade Down With Detroit for their #20 and #33. They get Curry at #1 and a LT at #11. VERY LIKELY
  2. Maybin vs. Pettigrew 1.2 I like the Pettigrew choice, because of his unique skillset (the consummate blocker/receiver that can be an ideal outlet on any play, thus removing another defender from the box). I hope we could do this with a tradedown. I think the War Room would write Maybin's name on the card if nobody calls at the Bills' pick.
  3. You can always use a CB, right? Sheesh. The Malcolm Jenkins selection I can see somewhat. There has been talk of moving him to Safety. However, a backfield of Whitner-Jenkins-McGee-McKelvin is still not going to stop the run, or withstand QB wait times of 7 seconds to pass.
  4. I've listed each website with their 2/25 pick first and their pick today second. DE's Maybin and Brown are now a dead heat, with some reduction in the Orakpo pick, and some relatively new picks (4 Ayers, 1 Smith, and a couple Maualuga). 5. Great Post, with evidence, bandit. If that's true, the best we can do is the trade in my sig.
  6. Tennesseeboy, Your best draft with those priorities would be: 1 DE Brown-Maybin 2 OG-OC Duke Robinson (if he falls this far; otherwise otherwise take Eric Wood OC) 3 OG Andy Levitre or Kraig Urbik (I consider Urbik the better run blocker) 4 TE Travis Beckum 5 DT Corvey Irvin or Vance Walker (we predict one of the 2 will be there) 6 TE Bear Pascoe 7 DE Tim Jamison Michigan
  7. I would agree. He'll be great. Hopefully not for the Dolphins.
  8. This is doable. 7th OG depth--Maybe Louis Vasquez (0 sacks allowed over 2 seasons), Andy Kemp, or Ray Feinga 6th FS Otis Wiley--played both safety positions, tall (6'2"), strong, special teamer 5th and Roscoe for Waters OG 4th for Scheffler TE 3rd for DT Ricky J-Francois 2nd for English OLB 1st forBrown, Maybin DE
  9. Meanwhile, the car continues to fill with smoke.
  10. Seen him. Me likey. He's #2 on my list after Duke Robinson, and a very likely pick in RD3 (Herman Johnson is in the mix too; he's the Michelin Man in a football uniform and would actually increase the average weight of our line, which is tops in the NFL). I was thinking that a cold weather Guard might be appealing to a team that recently did poorly with a Texas Tackle.
  11. There is a host of very good WR's in this draft around 4th-5th Round (Turner, Gibson, Wallace, Cosby). Don't pick a WR before then. I hope we aren't considering anything but a tradedown if glamourous shiny names start falling--unless one of them is named Maybin or Brown. Sanchez is a system success. Stafford is the real deal, but won't make it to our pick, so other teams trading up for Stafford won't be happening.
  12. Also the longer they are unsigned, the less the other 31 teams know about whether we're looking at Cushing-Brown-Maybin.
  13. .....But why is there a LIE in beLIEve, huh?!??? Why???? WHY????
  14. This next 7 minutes before the Syracuse game.
  15. This represents a LOT of work. Thank You!
  16. I think Tennessee Titans or Indianapolis Colts. A HYPOTHETICAL trade would be to the Colts for their RD3#92 pick, almost exactly the point where we think Lawrence Sidbury Jr. DE will be drafted.
  17. 11 Buffalo Brian Cushing OLB USC 42 Buffalo Michael Johnson DE Georgia Tech 75 Buffalo Chase Coffman TE Missouri Round 4-7 FYI, Jarron Gilbert DE is drafted with the next pick in the 3rd Round by the J-E-T-S. Our Big Board has Gilbert as #78 in the draft, and the Jets took him at #76.
  18. I'll back you up on that. Thrown To/Caught ratio is Reed's best stat.
  19. If Philadelphia stays where it is, they get none of the Top 5 Left Tackles. I don't expect them to give away both first rounders without an additional player in trade, likely a running back, tackle, safety, or tight end. We are not the likely trade partner for these. In other news, the Orangemen will have early trouble today with the matchup zone of ASU, but come back to win.
  20. It seems to me that our scouts and FO have had the most trouble ascertaining quality linemen. While it's too early to tell if 2006-08 represents a turnaround, our linemen selections in this decade have been underwhelming: 2008 3 3 9 72 Chris Ellis DE Virginia Tech 8 7 12 219 Demetrius Bell T Northwestern State 2007 7 7 29 239 C.J. Ah You DE Oklahoma 2006 2 1 26 26 John McCargo DT North Carolina State 5 5 1 134 Kyle Williams DT Louisiana State 6 5 10 143 Brad Butler T Virginia 8 7 8 216 Terrance Pennington T New Mexico 9 7 40 248 Aaron Merz G California 2005 3 4 21 122 Duke Preston C Illinois 5 6 23 197 Justin Geisinger G Vanderbilt 2004 3 3 11 74 Tim Anderson DT Ohio State 5 7 6 207 Dylan McFarland T Montana 2003 2 2 16 48 Chris Kelsay DE Nebraska 6 5 16 151 Ben Sobieski G Iowa 7 6 14 187 Lauvale Sape DT Utah 2002 1 1 4 4 Mike Williams T Texas 3 2 29 61 Ryan Denney DE Brigham Young 5 5 4 139 Justin Bannan DT Colorado 7 7 4 215 Mike Pucillo G Auburn 2001 7 5 13 144 Marques Sullivan T Illinois 12 7 38 238 Tyrone Robertson DT Hinds J.C. (MI) 2000 1 1 26 26 Erik Flowers DE Arizona State 6 6 28 194 Leif Larsen DE Texas-El Paso
  21. Philly would like a Left Tackle out of this draft, and Buffalo is one of the trade partners that makes sense. Philly gets our #11, and we get their #21 and #28. DraftTek's Online Draft Simulator shows these resulting picks for both teams: 21 Buffalo Clay Matthews OLB43 USC 28 Buffalo Robert Ayers DE43 Tennessee 42 Buffalo Max Unger OG Oregon 75 Buffalo Shawn Nelson TE Southern Miss 106 Buffalo Javon Ringer RB Michigan State 139 Buffalo Scott McKillop ILB Pittsburgh 170 Buffalo Clinton McDonald DT43 Memphis State 202 Buffalo Blake Schlueter OC TCU 11 Philadelphia Andre Smith OT Alabama 53 Philadelphia Patrick Chung SS Oregon 85 Philadelphia Travis Beckum TE Wisconsin 117 Philadelphia Tony Fiammetta FB Syracuse 145 Philadelphia Kaluka Maiava OLB43 USC 149 Philadelphia Curtis Taylor FS LSU 151 Philadelphia Domonique Johnson CB Jackson State 181 Philadelphia Frantz Joseph ILB Florida Atlantic 182 Philadelphia Dallas Reynolds OC BYU The Detroit trade involves taking their #20 pick and the first pick in RD3 in exchange for our #11. That draft would look like this: 20 Buffalo Clay Matthews OLB43 USC 42 Buffalo Michael Johnson DE43 Georgia Tech 65 Buffalo Chase Coffman TE Missouri 75 Buffalo Andy Levitre OG Oregon State 106 Buffalo Rashad Jennings RBF Liberty 139 Buffalo Scott McKillop ILB Pittsburgh 170 Buffalo Vance Walker DT43 Georgia Tech 202 Buffalo Jon Cooper OC Oklahoma 1 Detroit Aaron Curry OLB43 Wake Forest 11 Detroit Peria Jerry DT43 Mississippi 33 Detroit Josh Freeman QB Kansas St 82 Detroit Troy Kropog OT Tulane 161 Detroit Jasper Brinkley ILB South Carolina 179 Detroit Ian Campbell DE43 Kansas St Which one is more likely? I think the Detroit trade, because they came closer to a draft that met their needs. Will it happen? Probably not, because if Peria Jerry is there at #11, I'd expect the Bills to take him; he's a good fit for OUR defense even if Raji is head and shoulders above all the DT's.
  22. I think Roscoe's skillset could be used to great advantage now, with TO and Evans outside, with or without Reed in the slot or Pettigrew lined up as TE!
  23. It's llikely that both Luigs (Arkansas) and Caldwell (Alabama) are there in the 3rd when we pick. To me, this will be a make-or-break pick, because also there could be Casey, Nelson, and Coffman (TE), Levitre (OG), and McBath (FS).
