  1. Good News. If the Pat* want him, they'll have to take him in the first or trade one of their picks to move up around the Bills' RD2#42, because that's about where he's going.
  2. DraftTek has the Bills with the enviable choice between Conner Barwin and Jarron Gilbert at their pick in RD2. Both are versatile, Barwin a DE/OLB and Gilbert a DE/DT. I like both; we take Barwin: http://www.drafttek.com/round22009.asp But I would be just as happy with Gilbert, and would play him as a pocket-crushing DE.
  3. I, for one, am glad nuklz posted his demographics. I also grew up in Pittsford. Astro
  4. Corvey Irvin (there's a V in his first name) has a specialty in run defense, so that's a plus for playing on Sundays for the Bills.
  5. Agree. In a league full of musical chair receivers, we've watched Reed grow up into a possession receiver with tenacity-after-catch skills, an impressive thrown-to/caught percentage, and some running-back prowess.
  6. He actually does. He says Blocking TE's are a dime a dozen in the later rounds. Other than Pettigrew, there are NO potential starters at TE who will block at all. IMHO, if we don't take Pettigrew, it's 50-50 if we even draft a TE.
  7. Gotta side with the Gox on this one. Give up Shan...
  8. Whoa. It's like your read my mind. Which at times is very light reading!
  9. I think we see a draft day acquisition, and draft day is a great time to do it so nobody guesses your intentions. For example, if we sign Keiaho at LB on draft day, other teams who've penciled in our first rounder as Cushing will scramble. When we sign Peppers at DE, all the Maybin Mavens will have to switch their bets.
  10. Agree. Kugler went to his Pro Day, though, I know that. Maybe we take TE and DE first, and look at Levitre and Urbik in RD3.
  11. Interesting question about DT's. Because of the major demand this year for DT's there will be major "reaches" for them. Buffalo may be among those who reach for a DT in the middle rounds. At DraftTek, we have Fili Moala (a 4-3 DT) going at RD2#59 to Carolina, but he could last to RD3#65 Detroit, #66 St. Louis, or even RD3#72 Jacksonville. We draft at RD3#75. Between Moala and Irvin is Ricky Jean-Francois, who we have going to either BUF at RD4#110 or HOU at RD4#112. Cincy could reach for him at RD4#106 and rain on our parade. Corvey Irvin (also a 4-3 DT) could go as early as RD4#135 to Tennessee, or RD5#138 or #143 to Atlanta (they have 2 picks in the 4th). Chicago wants a DT and they draft at RD5#140, and CIN wants a DT and they're at RD5#142. We draft at RD4#110 and RD5#147. Let's say that Moala goes to CAR, Francois goes to BUF, and Irvin goes to ATL. That leaves many teams without a DT they had intended to draft; in this scenario I still don't have a DT for CHI, CIN, HOU, MIN, NO, STL and TEN. This will be one of the stories on Saturday and Sunday as DT's are reached for. My advice: Get 'em while they're hot.
  12. He's a Free Agent, he didn't retire. If he felt he was done, he'd have retired by now. He'll want to go to a team close to Philly, though, so that rules out teams like Jacksonville, KC, and Oakland. The Eagles are going to move up to get an O-Line player (see: Runyan, Tra Thomas, Shawn Andrews injury) or RB. They might as well throw Runyan into the deal for our #11 or Peters. For Peters, we want Runyan, their #21 and #28, and we'll give them a swap of 4ths.
  13. More likely, the Bills take someone is Group B: Group A: Off-field or character concerns: Andre Smith ---Without the off field issues that plague him he would CLEARLY be the best player in the draft. BJ Raji---I doubt others have him as low as we do, but for all the talent there are some issues.” Michael Oher OT ---only issue is the depth of his desire to play and get better Brian Cushing LB ---Some concern off-field Rey Maualuga LB --- Off-field concerns for us however. Group B: Character Mentioned: Jason Smith OT Baylor --void of any off-field issues Aaron Curry LB Wake Forest --character and a love for the game Brian Orakpo DE Texas---very teachable and hungry Brandon Pettigrew---star who loves the game and practice Aaron Maybin DE PSU---loves the game of football and all aspects including working out and practice Robert Ayers DE Tennessee ---took responsibility for some off-field and maturity issues Everett Brown DE Florida State---Super character, super athlete Peria Jerry DT ---married with kids and has his head on straight. I'd certainly be happy with any pick in Group B, and this is certainly why the War Room gets paid big bucks, especially if they take a risk in Group A with, say Smith or Raji.
  14. We could continue to suck at pass rush and call it the Cover 0... Anyway, switching to the 3-4 doesn't make sense with our current personnel. Our 4 best defensive linemen (much less 3)can't generate the holes that 4 linemen can attack through. Plus we have 2 NFL-caliber LB's, not 4. That will change in the draft so that we have 3, but unless there is a miracle healing and Bowen comes back better than his college days, we won't have 4.
  15. Take QB in 6th, RB in 7th: Bills trade down to #20 with Detroit, and get the 1st 3rd Round pick #65.. 20 Brandon Pettigrew TE 42 Eric Wood OG 65 Sen'Derrick Marks DT 75 Lawrence Sidbury Jr. DE 110 Jason Williams OLB 147 Matt Shaughnessy DE 183 Hunter Cantwell QB 220 Jeremiah Johnson RB
  16. innocuous----adj. unlikely to harm or disturb anyone
  17. I think TE and DE, one way or the other, are the first 2 rounds. You still have OLB and Peters/Replacement as the wild cards. I think it was interesting that the Bills brought in Vontae Davis--who would be there at Pick 28. I think a trade (possibly Draft Day) is in the works.
  18. Interesting that the Bills are researching players who will be there at ~#28 (the Eagles' 2nd pick).
  19. Here's a simulation from DraftTek on the trade (Peters to Philly) plus a tradedown (Detroit): 15 Buffalo Brian Cushing OLB43 USC 20 Buffalo Brandon Pettigrew TE Oklahoma St 21 Buffalo Robert Ayers DE43 Tennessee 28 Buffalo Max Unger OG Oregon 42 Buffalo Ron Brace DT43 Boston College 46 Buffalo Sean Smith FS Utah 82 Buffalo Antoine Caldwell OC Alabama 85 Buffalo Gerald McRath ILB Southern Miss 110 Buffalo Michael Hamlin SS Clemson 147 Buffalo Tyronne Green OG Auburn 183 Buffalo Kenny McKinley WRF South Carolina 220 Buffalo Hunter Cantwell QB Louisville
  20. I think it is a signal that the Bills won't be taking OG in Round 2. That's OK by me; I think McKinnie is better than Unger and certainly more versatile. The knock on Unger was that he is a one-trick pony and couldn't anchor at Center. McKinnie (like Hangartener) is a OG/OC type.
  21. The 2 voting for Maclin have not updated their mock lately, so I'm guessing pre-T.O. If we land Everette Brown, I'm happy. I consider him the best DE and one of the Top 5 on Defense in the draft. If he's not there, I'd still take Pettigrew, or it's likely O-Line guys (Andre Smith/Michael Oher) have fallen to us. That will happen if two QB's are taken in the Top 10 (Detroit, J-Ville, or a team trading up--NYJ?).
  22. I ran a trade for Philly's 1st RD1 pick and their RD3 pick. I also traded down with Houston to get their RD2. I don't think this gets us pass rush. 15 Buffalo Brian Cushing OLB 21 Buffalo Brandon Pettigrew TE 42 Buffalo Duke Robinson OG 46 Buffalo Ron Brace DT 110 Buffalo Kyle Moore DE 147 Buffalo Cecil Newton OC 183 Buffalo Otis Wiley SS 220 Buffalo Marcus McClinton FS
  23. Does a trade with the Jets for their #17 and #76 improve our team more than it helps their team? 17 Buffalo Brian Cushing OLB43 USC 42 Buffalo Jared Cook TE South Carolina 75 Buffalo Mitch King DE43 Iowa 76 Buffalo Herman Johnson OG LSU 110 Buffalo Ricky Jean-Francois DT43 LSU 11 NY Jets Matthew Stafford QB Georgia 52 NY Jets Jamon Meredith OT South Carolina 115 NY Jets Jarett Dillard WRF Rice
  24. More Everette Brown than ever before, with Maybin second and Pettigrew 3rd. Fewer say Orakpo. Some more picks of Ayers and Tyson Jackson, and two websites are already picking Michael Oher LT. http://footballhappyhour.com/2009/02/football-happy-hours-2009-nfl-mock-draft/ Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn St http://www.insidetheeagles.com/2009mockdraft.htm Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn St http://www.squidoo.com/Draft-Mock-NFL Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn St http://footballjabber.com/nfl-draft/nfl-mo...ck-draft-11-20/ Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://forums.sportsjabber.net/sjforums/sh...read.php?t=1513 Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://nfldraftpreview.webs.com/ Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn St http://www.draftcountdown.com/sub/Mock-Draft-A.php Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn St http://www.draftseason.com/nfl-mock-draft Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn St http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/2009/20...r=13&page=2 Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://patsdraft.com/Draft_09.html Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn St http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/28778620/ Robert Ayers, DE, Tennessee http://www.squidoo.com/2009-NFL-Mock-Draft Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://cdsdraft.com/mocks/round-1.html Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn St http://www.sportsagentblog.com/2009/02/08/...nfl-mock-draft/ Andre Smith OT/OG, Alabama http://www.draftking.com/nfl/2009/mockdraft.shtml Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://www.nfldraftdog.com/Mock_Drafts/200..._mock_draft.htm Brandon Pettigrew, TE http://nfldraftspot.com/mock-drafts.html Brandon Pettigrew, TE http://www.ninersnation.com/2009/1/23/7346...-nation-mock-dr Brandon Pettigrew, TE http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFLDr...09/mock2329.htm Brandon Pettigrew, TE http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/2009/20...r=22&page=2 Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://www.drafttek.com/round12009.asp Michael Oher, OT, Mississippi http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/mock Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://thefootballexpert.com/mockdraft.html Robert Ayers, DE, Tennessee http://www.fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/2009/20...r=33&page=2 Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn St http://www.nfldraftblitz.com/mockdrafts.htm Brandon Pettigrew, TE http://broncotalk.net/2009/02/mr-easts-its...ble-mock-draft/ Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://www.fantasyfootballxtreme.com/nfl-d...nfl-mock-draft/ Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU http://www.thehuddlereport.com/Free/mockdrafts.shtml Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://nflhouse.com/draft/static/2009-mock-draft.html Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas http://heardsfootballreport.com/mockdraft.html Michael Johnson, DE, GaTech http://nfldraftpreview.webs.com/zachsmockdraft.htm Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://warroomreport.com/index.php?option=...63&Itemid=1 Brandon Pettigrew, TE http://www.draftseason.com/lupagus-nfl-mock-draft Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://nfldraft101.com/mocks/current.jsp Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn St http://walterfootball.com/draft2009.php Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://www.draftgreenroom.com/gallery/5592276_ozS8j/2 Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://www.mynfldraft.com/NFL-Mock-Draft Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn St http://www.theobr.com/public/mdm/posTrendD...=127&pos=11 Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://blogg.visir.is/nfldraft/?page_id=241 Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn St http://texasfirecrackers.com/hotspicysportssnacks/ Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://thepewterplank.com/2009/01/23/pewte...aft-version-11/ Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://www.draftnotebook.com/draft%20projection.htm Brandon Pettigrew, TE http://www.draftseason.com/outhouse-nfl-mock-draft Everette Brown, DE, Fla.State http://www.900footballlinks.net/2009mockdrafts.htm Robert Ayers, DE, Tennessee http://profootball.scout.com/2/839583.html Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri* http://prosportsdraft.webs.com/mockdraft.htm Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri* http://www.sportprojections.com/group/nfldraft "Larry English, DE, N.
