  1. The Buffalo Bills hold nine picks, too many to pay all those salaries. They will attempt (and fail) to trade up for one of the Top 3 OT's. Then they will try to move up from 28 in RD1 for Pettigrew. 11th---Everette Brown DE 28th--Brandon Pettigrew TE (may sacrifice a pick to get him earlier) 42nd--Mack OC/OG or Eric Wood OG/OC 75th---Andy Levitre OG 110th---(used to move up for Pettigrew) 121st---Jonathan Casillas OLB 147th--Scott McKillop ILB 183rd--Otis Wiley SS 220th--Brannan Southerland FB or Drew Willey QB
  2. We'll throw a OLB in there at some point, but that's probably about right, short of a FA acquisition this week.
  3. DraftTek's regular mock has us taking: Cushing OLB Wood OG/OC Sidbury DE Beckum TE Which I also wouldn't mind, although I still like the idea of trading down from #11 to about #16 for their 3rd Rounder. San Diego might want to get ahead of Houston to select Maclin. That trade might look like: 16 Buffalo Brandon Pettigrew TE Oklahoma St 28 Buffalo Robert Ayers DE43 Tennessee 42 Buffalo Ron Brace DT34 Boston College 75 Buffalo Andy Levitre OG Oregon State 78 Buffalo Tyrone McKenzie OLB43 South Florida
  4. I like John's sunny outlook in this gray climate. The glass is half full.
  5. I don't see it. Offensive Tackle Wonderlics - Eben Britton 31, Eugene Monroe 24, Jason Smith 23, Michael Oher 19, Andre Smith 17
  6. What I fear the most is a delay in determining this year's O-Line starter lineup. I hope the coaches know by minicamp. BTW, don't discount Britton at #28: Offensive Tackle Wonderlics - Eben Britton 31, Eugene Monroe 24, Jason Smith 23, Michael Oher 19, Andre Smith 17
  7. Good post John. I am thinking the same way. We don't have to take a rookie LT or even RT with pick 1. The coaches are as happy about Bell as they were about Peters. His feet are as good, and his brain is better.
  8. Hey BGIM, what do you know about Daryl Richard, DT? I see him in your sig line and he's not even on my radar.
  9. We have Ayers on our Big Board http://www.drafttek.com/2009players.asp at #32. The player taken has to match team need and BPA. That's what DraftTek's computer simulation does. Here's our board as of today: 1 Aaron Curry Wake Forest OLB43 ILB 2 Jason Smith Baylor OT 3 Michael Crabtree Texas Tech WRF 4 Eugene Monroe Virginia OT 5 Matthew Stafford Georgia QB 6 Brian Orakpo Texas DE43 OLB34 7 Mark Sanchez USC QB 8 Malcolm Jenkins Ohio State CB 9 BJ Raji Boston College DT34 DT43 10 Jeremy Maclin Missouri WRF WRS 11 Everette Brown Florida State DE43 OLB34 12 Andre Smith Alabama OT OG 13 Knowshon Moreno Georgia RBF 14 Michael Oher Mississippi OT 15 Tyson Jackson LSU DE43 DE34 16 Chris Wells Ohio State RBF 17 Brian Cushing USC OLB43 18 Rey Maualuga USC ILB 19 Darrius Heyward-Bey Maryland WRF 20 Vontae Davis Illinois CB 21 Clay Matthews USC OLB34 OLB43 22 Peria Jerry Mississippi DT43 23 Brandon Pettigrew Oklahoma St TE 24 James Laurinaitis Ohio State ILB 25 Darius Butler Connecticut CB 26 Aaron Maybin Penn State OLB34 OLB43 27 Josh Freeman Kansas St QB 28 Donald Brown Connecticut RBF 29 Percy Harvin Florida WRS WRF 30 Evander Hood Missouri DT43 DE34 31 Alphonso Smith Wake Forest CB 32 Robert Ayers Tennessee DE43 33 Hakeem Nicks North Carolina WRF WRP 34 Eben Britton Arizona OT
  10. I hate to brag, but it's been there for a month.
  11. Jean-Francois was the "other" DT next to Dorsey. Now he'd be next to Stroud; same difference. I still think Casillas is a better option than Ellison, but not better than a healthy Bowen. We'll see.
  12. 11 Buffalo Michael Oher OT Mississippi 28 Buffalo Robert Ayers DE43 Tennessee 42 Buffalo Eric Wood OG Louisville 75 Buffalo Chase Coffman TE Missouri 110 Buffalo Ricky Jean-Francois DT43 LSU 121 Buffalo Jonathan Casillas OLB43 Wisconsin 147 Buffalo Courtney Greene SS Rutgers 183 Buffalo Jerraud Powers CB Auburn 220 Buffalo Ryan Purvis TE Boston College I would have preferred Brannan Southerland FB in Round 7, but a very comfortable draft I could live with. This report was produced using Draft Tek's Draft Simulator: http://WWW.Drafttek.com
  13. Your opinion fits mine the best, so you are brilliant. Throw in the fact that we'll get 3 picks for an UDFA tight end... We did all right. Let's move on.
  14. This is a good test that the Giants, Jets (and other teams) are using: "The Giants and Jets coaches asked him and Maryland teammate Edwin Williams, a center, to sit in a meeting room before a giant dry-erase board as they wrote chunks of their team's offenses on the board, erased them and asked the players to rewrite as much as they could remember." "Working Memory" is the size of your desktop, the amount you can hold in memory and still operate on. That plus level of photographic memory for spatial material (such as plays) are HUGE in determining one's capacity for learning the playbook--much better than the Wonderlic.
  15. Oh. I thought this thread was about me. Never Mind. I didn't even KNOW about the Irish Retriever until it was too late.
  16. Agree about Urbik. Outstanding blocker, perhaps the best run blocker among the OG's. Something Modrak said makes me think that OG won't be the pick though. He said some (prospects) will sift into OC and OG from OT. HE also said they were looking for the best pass protectors, and that this year's OG class was not as good. Is it a smokscreen? Could be, but I think not.
  17. Wonderful breakdown of those plays. What do y'all think of putting a Grab on him if he's there at #11 on DraftTek's Mock? Astro
  18. We at DraftTek have him going to Frisco at #74. We draft #75 in the Third. Astro
  19. I think you're right on. Modrak said that he would be happy with 7 picks, and I anticipate one or two will be "Wow" picks that will pump this crowd up. I just hope that they "take what they're given" in each round, but aren't afraid to take at least one risk-reward pick.
  20. I'm a droid. I have no knees. Of course I'm stand-up.
  21. No I am not a clairvoyant, nor did I have inside information. I was merely removing the Grab feature on Michael Oher on the DraftTek site. The Grab feature tells the computer to select that player if available at #11. I told Warren, my boss at DraftTek, that (according to TSW posts and Brandon's presser the Bills appeared to be getting close in numbers, and determined to sign Peters. My boss then added the bit about becoming the highest paid LT. I have asked Warren to change the info, and he has. http://www.drafttek.com/round12009.asp Looks like the computer has picked Cushing OLB, with Tyson Jackson and Oher off the board next. Pettigrew, by the way, is now picked #28. I humbly apologize for my error. Astro
  22. Since the filming will take place in Atlanta, expect the Falcons to pick him up with the 24th pick.
  23. And Like Vrabel, if you put Barwin in for a 3rd and goal now and then, he wouldn't DISlike it.
  24. I'd give up my job to be there. Which I would, so I can't. [sad face] Astro
  25. We at DraftTek have him as the 4-3/3-4 combo plate, so not every analyst agrees with you.
