  3. I made the numbers up, folks. ALL of these FA's could be signed for a cap hit of <13 mill total, but then we wouldn't have a discussion, would we?
  4. I think Poz's too slow for moving outside, and the Bills didn't draft ILB, so I think they're content with Poz/DiG inside.
  5. Let's say, just picking a number out of the air, you had $13 million dollars in cap money. Would you: PROBLEM A: Outside Linebacker A1. Go after Pisa Tinuisamoa LB and call it quits (Deduct $6 Million) A2. Forget Pisa --just go for Derrick Brooks LB for 2 years, looking at filling OLB through August cuts or draft (Deduct $7M) A3 Sign Morlon Greenwood--Syracuse grad is among youngest starters in FA at age 30 (Deduct $6 Million) A3. Do Nothing PROBLEM B: Veteran Left Tackle B1. Sign Levi Jones (Deduct $10 Million) B2. Sign Mark Tauscher (Deduct $7 Million) B3. Move Walker to the Left side and Use our drafted and existing players PROBLEM C: Defensive Tackle C1. Sign Kevin Carter (Deduct 6 Million) - Has played last 2 years for Bucs, still averages 4 sacks/yr. C2. Sign LaRoi Glover (Deduct 6 Million) - 6 sacks a year ago with Rams, off-year last year C3. Use McCargo and our drafted and existing players, and/or assume we get an August castoff I would Go for A2 and C1---Pisa and Kevin Carter.
  6. McIntyre won't be released because of his special relationship with Dick.
  7. I've already seen 2010 mocks where we take a DT in the first round. Here's an experienced DT who is a known quantity and who'd look good now rather than 3 years from now. Especially with Schobel-Stroud-Maybin.
  8. Also, the longer the FO waits, the longer the coaches have to see what D-Bell, Levitre and Wood will bring to the mix.
  9. Agree. I want to see Butler at RG next to Walker @ RT. Still think we sign a LT or go with what we have at LT (D-Bell), a less attractive option.
  10. Thanks. I really thought we'd trade down as well as trade, but I never saw Byrd in the second. I give all credit to DraftTek. Their Big Board was pretty spot-on: A review of their last mock shows 8 correct Round 1 picks: 2) St Louis - Jason Smith 3) Cincinnati - Andre Smith 4) Green Bay - BJ Raji 14) New Orleans - Malcolm Jenkins 15) Houston - Brian Cushing 27) Indianapolis - Donald Brown 31) Arizona - Chris Wells 32) Pittsburgh - Evander Hood
  11. Mike Florio at profootballtalk.com says that Bryant, a 2002 #12 pick, has mended his ways, and : "He realizes that, due to his behavior, he owes the Cardinals a partial refund of his signing bonus. “I want to pay the Cardinals back the money because I didn’t give them what they deserved and they allowed me to live a great lifestyle,” Bryant said. “A man has to face his mistakes.” Wow. We don’t know whether Bryant has anything left, but we hope that he’ll get a fair chance to fully redeem himself."
  12. Working on my own here (no tradedowns this time): 1-Pettigrew TE 1-Wood OG/OC 2-E.Brown DE 3-K. Urbick OG 4-Chip Vaughn -S 4-Sidbury DE 5-Marcus Freeman -LB/S 6-Brandon Underwood CB 7-Zack Follett LB One thing you'll learn by doing this exercise is how valuable it is to know in hindsight where the "feasts" and "famines" at each position were. There were no DT's selected at all in Round 5, for instance, and lots of LB's, WR's, CB's and RB's were still on the board late.
  13. http://www.drafttek.com/round12009.asp We did this last year and it was fun. Using the draft for 2009 (or 2008!) and make your picks now that you know where all players were taken. You cannot take a player selected earleir in the round. If you make a trade, use the trade chart (http://www.drafttek.com/tradechart.html ) and your points can't exceed the team you trade with.
  14. 1. O.J. 2. Jim Kelly 3. Jack Kemp 4. Scott Norwood 5. T.O. 6. Marv Levy 7. Doug Flutie 8. Chris Berman 9. Kevin Everett 10. Thurman Thomas Tempted to add Ralph Wilson in here, as well as Paul McGuire.
  15. Good Choices: Levy, Smerlas, and Roscoe. Bad choices: Parrish and WideRight.
  16. Wilfork--cheap shot delays our progress. J-E-T-S-Jets Jets Jets. Classless even compared to P*ts. Belicheat.
  17. I would pony up a 3 and a 5 as well for Henderson, and sign him to 3 years. Henderson-Stroud with Williams-Johnson-McCargo depth.
  18. This is an indication to me that Bowen is functionally getting up to speed. While I admired Keiaho's numbers, I'd prefer a healthy Bowen's punishing hits.
  19. Yeah. For them. Twin DT's are goin' down.
