  1. RISING: Trent Williams Oklahoma OT/OG +9 to #5 C.J. Spiller Clemson RBC KR +7 to #8 Brandon Graham Michigan DE43 OLB34 +9 to #14 Ricky Sapp Clemson DE43 OLB34 +8 to #16 Tim Tebow Florida QB +9 to #20 Jared Odrick Penn State DT43 DE34 +16 to #21 FALLING: Carlos Dunlap Florida DE43 DE34 -5 to #10 Colt McCoy Texas QB -6 to #12 Bryan Bulaga Iowa OT OG -8 to #17 Source Odrick is this week's biggest riser. What would teams do with 2 tough, strong DT's in the middle requiring double teams? Bulaga had the biggest fall this week. The Iowa line hasn't measured up to expectations, and Bulaga missed three games with a thyroid condition. Astro
  2. Furthermore, Shanahan had posted the most wins in pro football history in a two-year period (33 from 1997-98). He'll want to wrest the record back from the team that surpassed his record (New England won 34 from 2003-04).
  3. I need to see if there's a majority opinion about when to draft an offensive lineman, quarterback, and defensive lineman in the draft. I think we get an OLB in free agency, so I didn't include linebacker. Because of the uncertainty along the O-line, I didn't say "Left Tackle" or "Right Guard" or "Center" for now. We'll be doing our 6th mock draft to appear Friday on www.DraftTek.com. You'll like the results. Thanks for your opinions! Astro Bills Correspondent DraftTek
  4. Jairus had agony of the feet. This is Garius Byrd the lineman on our team.
  5. We have Tebow right now at #29 on our Big Board, but if you do a simulation, he falls to the Bills in RD#2 if we draft 7th to 10th. He goes right before we pick if we draft 11th or higher.
  6. P2 I will make OG a P2 as well. They are all here: http://www.drafttek.com/teamneeds2010.asp Astro
  7. Eric Wood's devastating injury shakes everything up. I will be submitting our positional needs to DraftTek tomorrow, and I get that sinking feeling it will mean drafting an OT and OG very early. The signing of Brohm and possible availability of another vet QB might allow us to do that. I am open to anything. Do I lower our QB priority (say to P3) and raise OG priority to even with OT, which is set at P2? You can only have one P1 need, and up to now I have opted so far to take the BPA between OT and QB by making them both P2.
  8. Winning in a dome is different than winning in Buffalo in late November/December. The most important change that will be made in the next few months (besides bringing back Rusty or Allaire) will be which GM is selected. He will be the link that will hire coordinators and manage the draft. That will make more of a difference than whether we hire Dungy, Shanahan or Cowher IMHO.
  9. Harris will do anything to get in at LB
  10. I admired Marv as a coach. He wasn't a good GM, and that's ok by me. My Bills loyalty runs deep, and I don't see loyalty as a problem. Today is a new day, but this day isn't for saying yuck foo to one of the Bills' best coaches. It's for beginning a selection process that prevents recent history from repeating itself.
  11. Maybe we have put loyalty to the team above sanity. Or there is more to talk about when a team is mediochre. Think about it--which generates more chat being Colts or Buffalo
  12. I still think we have one--DBell. But Meredith isn't IMHO. We'll be looking at tackle and center early in the draft. The bad news: the draft is still 5months away.
  13. I remember a lot of people saying last August, "We may not make the playoffs, but at least we'll be entertaining." Strike 2.
  14. or punting. Sounds like that's what he's still doing...
  15. For me, "Captain Comeback" will always be Frank Reich. When at Maryland and with the Bills, he owned the two best comebacks. Last I knew, he was coaching high school.
  16. I simulated a draft on www.drafttek.com with the Bills with the 9th pick, putting OT, OG and QB as equal high priority. Here's the result (*=Junior expected to declare) Pick 9 Buffalo *Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma 41 Buffalo *Bruce Campbell OT Maryland 74 Buffalo *Gabe Carimi OT Wisconsin 106 Buffalo *Mike Pouncey OG Florida As you can see, you aren't guaranteeing a poor line by selecting QB first. BTW, Drafttek will be releasing a new mock in about an hour. Let's see if the Bills take a QB or an LT (wink wink) Astro Bills Correspondent DraftTek.com
  17. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/287939-...d-games#page/10 Michael Schottey compares the Buffalo Bills to a board game. Can you guess which one? This is a very entertaining read, and all 32 teams are compared to a different game.
  18. I can agree with the core of Bell-Levitre-Wood, but Meredith and Hangartener are backups at best, and our FA linemen stunk. I'll take one of the two or three best OT's in Trent Williams in RD#1 (Okung's long gone and Bulaga's likely gone) and the draft's best Center in RD#2, Maurkice Pouncey (Selvish Capers at OT could also be there). I'll take QB Jevan Snead or Dan LeFevour in RD#3 (yes, they'll drop to #70-79 right after Tony Pike) and Geno Atkins or Lamarr Houston at DT in RD#4. South Florida's Jason Pierre-Paul at DE is my fifth pick (he may soar up as high as 3rd rd), and as my 6th, I expect TE Aaron Hernandez to declare for the draft (may have to be 4th or 5th rd). I now have a line of Bell-Levitre-Pouncey-Wood-Williams with Hangartener as backup, Mike Vick and Snead/LeFevour as QB's, and most of our existing WR's (Evans-Johnson-Reed-Hardy-Jenkins) and RB's. For D-Line I have Stroud and Atkins/Houston in the middle, and Pierre-Paul-Denney-Maybin-Schobel, outside.
  19. I think Jake Locker would be available, but I hope the Bills draft an O-lineman in RD#1 and see what a good line can do for Edwards.
  20. #11 again. The GBN big board has these players available at that pick: 11. *Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma State 12. Colt McCoy QB Texas 13. Jermaine Gresham TE Oklahoma 14. *Joe Haden CB Florida 15. George Selvie DE South Florida 16. Terrence Cody DT Alabama 17. Sean Witherspoon LB Missouri ------------------- I think many of those will be gone when we pick. DraftTek's Big Board currently has a different (and I think more realistic) list: 11 Brandon Spikes Florida ILB OLB34 OLB43 12 *Dez Bryant Oklahoma State WRF KR 13 Greg Hardy Mississippi DE43 TE 14 Trent Williams Oklahoma OT OG 15 C.J. Spiller Clemson RBC KR 16 Terrence Cody Alabama DT34 DT43 17 Charles Brown USC OT 18 *Rolondo McClain Alabama ILB OLB43 19 Mike Iupati Idaho OG 20 *Jimmy Clausen Notre Dame QB Still some good names on DraftTek. I hope we take players in April that actually are slotted for the position they played in college!!!
