  1. Hey, murra. We have him behind Case Keenum and Zac Robinson and ahead of Bill Stull of Pittsburgh, although I like Stull more than Hall. Lots more to see from the QB's in bowls and combine before this gets serious, but right now I'd say late 6th, early 7th Round. Did you see Stull in the Cincinnati game? Great in the first half, then Tony Pike looked like a 3rd Rounder and rallied to win. Did you see Hall in the BYU-TCU?
  2. I enjoy your game takes almost as much as I enjoy your draft takes. Which is a lot. It sounds like you have watched the game a few times by now. What do you think about drafting this year on the basis of how easy it will be for a new coach to get results quickly from that position? For example, get a veteran QB instead of drafting one early b/c QB's take time to get results compared to, say, a DT?
  3. Some of you have commented on the picks that the computer made based on our positional needs. Ironically, those of you who have criticized the picks didn't contribute when I asked for positional needs. A new draft comes out first thing tomorrow at DraftTek (I believe a 4-rounder) here: http://www.drafttek.com Don't like the picks? Let's discuss it. If you want to see the Big Board it's here: http://www.drafttek.com/2010players.asp See a player that's ranked too high or too low? Let me know. The third way to contribute would be to run a simulation and post Bills picks. The simulator is here: http://drafttek.com/new%20simulator/frmLogin.aspx You can simulate trades, lock out Tebow, grab a player if he falls that low, and change the order of picks. Astro
  4. McCoy, Capers, McMahon, Houston. If we do that well, I'll eat one of my Bills hats.
  5. The Pats*' secondary is vulnerable, and Jackson-Lynch just has to get through to exploit it. You'll see more of the misdirection stuff we saw against the Chiefs. Lynch can't dance behind the line as much this week. Hit them holes hard, you Tiger!
  6. We don't have compensatory picks yet. If it's based on the size of Peters' ass, it'll become a high second VERY-round pick.
  7. I simulated your draft with DraftTek's Simulator. Round 1: DT Gerald McCoy was already selected at #4 by Detroit, and so I went with DT Terrence Cody (would have been taken 17th by Miami). Round 2: LT Bruce Campbell of Maryland was grabbed by Washington right before our pick, so I had to reach for LT Selvish Capers of WVU. He would have been drafted by Seattle at #45. Round 3: QB's are thin in this round, but I got QB Tony Pike of Cincinnati, who we think will go around #82. Jevan Snead is right in that same area, and was actually our draft's pick for Buffalo in the 4th Round. Round 4: MLB in this round is not as easy as OLB: OLB Michael Morgan of USC should be the pick. You hate Poz? Round 5: You have your choice of DE's here: DE Ryan Kerrigan of Purdue or DE Dekoda Watson of Florida State. We have Kerrigan slightly ahead of Watson. Round 6: Best OL is junior OC Ryan McMahon at Florida State. I like the DE junior *Jason Pierre-Paul from USF here, too. If you did this, you could get Joe Pawelek ILB in Round 5 and junior OT Jarriel King of South Carolina in Round 4... Round 7: Best DL here is likely to be DT Lamarr Houston of Texas unless he shines in the championship game or combine. Nice draft and some things to think about!
  8. The whole DraftTek simulation: 7 Buffalo *Bryan Bulaga OT Iowa 39 Buffalo Tim Tebow QB Florida 70 Buffalo *Brian Price DT43 UCLA 102 Buffalo Dan LeFevour QB Central Michigan 134 Buffalo *Lawrence Wilson OLB43 Connecticut 166 Buffalo *Jason Pierre-Paul DE43 South Florida 198 Buffalo Eric Olsen OG Notre Dame I suggest that Tebow, with proper (read "new") coaching and enhancements on the o-line, could be used in a multitude of ways.
  9. The Bills lead the league in QB Rating Difference, which is the difference between the opposing QB's average QB Rating and the Rating when they play the Bills. We'll do just fine.
  10. I drink and eat less when they win.
  11. I did it the other way (QB to P2 and OT to P1) and we took Bulaga and Tebow, which I like better... I can put a Grab in for Dan LeFevour for Round 4-5...and have Tebow, Brohm, and LeFevour fight it out at St. John Fisher!
  12. So here's what I'll submit: OT -----Priority 1, then Change Priority to P4 QB-----Priority 2 DT 4-3------Priority 2 OLB 4-3----Priority 2 OG-----Priority 3 DE 4-3------Priority 3 WR-------Priority 4 ILB ----Priority 4 OC-----Priority 4 TE-----Priority 4 All other positions are called Priority 9. Astro Bills Correspondent http://www.DraftTek.com
  13. I agree fully on DT. Watch the game tape and how Stroud and Williams focus on engaging with the blocker rather than trying to get off the block and make the tackle. I'd see it as a high priority in this draft.
  14. A couple of comments: --Gerald McCoy, DT, will go top 7, likely 4th to Detroit. --Colt McCoy, QB, will go as early as 20 (Jacksonville) or slide to 24 (Seattle) or 27 (Arizona). I'd be happy to make OT and QB a P2 and thus letting DraftTek's computer pick the BPA. I can also put in for multiple OT's to be selected, which could be a good solution. I like the idea of putting WR as a priority in this draft, but can't see putting it higher than Priority 3.
  15. My thinking today is as follows: OT -----Priority 2 (Down From P1) QB-----Priority 1 (Up From P2) DT 4-3------Priority 2 OLB 4-3----Priority 2 OG-----Priority 3 (Down From P2) DE 4-3------Priority 3 ILB ----Priority 4 OC-----Priority 4 TE-----Priority 4 These priorities for each team are listed here: http://www.drafttek.com/teamneeds2010.asp Comments: --I can only have one "Priority 1" (P1) position. I can submit multiple Priority 2's. --We gained 200 yards on a bad team. If Clausen-Bradford-Locker is there in RD1, the computer will pick him if we say P1 --I could lower OC as a priority, but we don't yet know how Woods comes through his injury. Same with OG. --The draft is full of DT's and WR's this year, and a comparatively lower need for them. Do I make WR a priority P4? --I still think that more push up the middle is needed, so I'd keep DT as a P2. What do you think? --Should I lower OLB priority based on Scott and Harris's play? --I'm thinking we're still in the 7 spot for the draft this year, putting us out of the running for Clausen-Suh-Okung-McCoy-Bradford but in the running for Bulaga-Williams-Locker-Dunlap-Spikes.
  16. I am willing to serve as Giselle's breast pump operator.
  17. At DraftTek we are now expecting Clausen to be drafted 1st by Cleveland, Bradford going to Washington at #6, Buffalo drafting O-Line at #7, Locker to Seattle at #13, and Colt McCoy going to J'ville at #20 in the first Round. After McCoy, we see a big drop-off. Tebow would be drafted at #43 after the Bills 2nd Round pick at #39, assuming they stick with Brohm and perhaps a FA vet. DraftTek will have a new mock out Tuesday or later on tonight which will show Clausen, Berry, and Suh off the board first. Astro, Bills Correspondent, DraftTek
  18. Stupid is not seeing you would need to fire your offensive coordinator earlier than 6 days before the regular season. Stupid is trying to improve pass rush with a one season wonder who is a lightweight DE tweener. Stupid is Marshawn Lynch. Get a limo driver. Stupid is drafting another California quarterback. Stupid is having a history of not drafting linemen, and drafting Mike Williams when you do. Stupid is not using bump coverage for years. Stupid is drafting players, then switching their positions. Stupid is letting Rusty Jones and Bill Polian get away. Stupid is building a finesse team in a cold-weather climate. Stupid is doing the same thing, and expecting different results.
  19. Same picks here, in that order. No way Garrett comes here, though. I wouldn't mind a father-son combo either in Shanahan.
  20. Round 1 likely available: Okung, Trent Williams, Charles Brown LT's and Jake Locker/Colt McCoy QB's. Round 2 likely available:Jon Asamoah/Selvish Capers LT, Maurkice Pouncey OC and Tim Tebow QB. Round 3 likely available: Tony Pike QB Mike Johnson OG I'll go with Jake Locker QB in Round 1, OC Maurkice Pouncey in Round 2, and OG Mike Johnson in Round 3. Take care of OLB in FA.
  21. I really expected the joint to be in his face. He was lighting it up for a while. And he didn't pass it much. Glad to see Ricky took some really good hits at the Ralph.
  22. Agree with everything. This is a bona fide TE talent, and time, a decent O-line, and coaching will have at a Top 6 level at his position in the NFL.
  23. EXACTLY. Plus Dan Marino, if you are a commentator, I'd like some more unbiased reporting please. That is all.
