  1. Using Draft Tek's Simulator here, I have run a simulation of the 2010 draft. The first picks were as follows: 1 1 St Louis Ndamukong Suh DT43 Nebraska 1 2 Detroit *Gerald McCoy DT43 Oklahoma 1 3 TBay *Eric Berry FS Tennessee 1 4 Wash *Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame 1 5 K City Russell Okung OT Oklahoma State 1 6 Seattle *Joe Haden CB Florida 1 7 Cleveland *Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma 1 8 Oakland Brandon Spikes ILB Florida 1 9 Buffalo ? It's now our first pick. Who do you take? I'll put the results back into the simulator, and re-run it after we take the majority choice. You're On The Clock. Your time limit is until 10:00EST. Enjoy. 2. We have Bulaga as #17 on our Big Board, and Campbell #61 (still behind Jason Fox, Selvish Capers, and Trent Williams. One reason for this is that Bulaga, Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year as a junior, is an incredible run blocker. Do you know of a team who might want to run in the later part of the season?
  3. I'm glad too. Now he can come back to Rochester to Lifetime Fitness where he was before.
  4. Agree. ---As the offensive coordinator of Utah State University, Billick improved the second-worst offense in Division I-A into a top-ten offense in only three seasons (1986-1988). ---During his 7 years with the Vikes, they made the playoffs 6 times. ---In 1998 the Vikes set the NFL record for most points scored in a season. ---Billick was brought in to jump start the Ravens' offense. Points went from 265 to 324 the first year. ---Baltimore went on a run of three playoff appearances in Billick's first three years, with three stellar QB's - Trent Dilfer, Elvis Grbac, and Kyle Boller. ---In just his second season, the Ravens rode their top-ranked defense to the Super Bowl championship.
  5. Okay, how many returned to work today and "rested their starters"? Or am I the only one that works?
  6. I'm working on our draft value board as we speak... Anything to be in the War Room
  7. Oregon LB is Kenny Rowe. http://www.goducks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB...;ATCLID=1149819 He's a junior, hasn't declared yet, but the fumble return was mint.
  8. Agree that we'd like a Merriman clone! Yes, we can make a size requirement. Watch Eric Norwood today (1/2) at 2pm on ESPN, Sergio Kindle on Jan 7th, and of course Sean Witherspoon. Even if we pick up an OLB via FA (which is likely) we may take a flier on Ricky Sapp (chancing his full recovery from injury) or Cameron Sheffield from Troy (remember Demarcus Ware came from Troy!).
  9. DraftTek wants our positional needs for January. Nix's hiring makes this a bit more interesting. If he hires Ron Rivera, it could signal a 3-4 defense a la Chargers. Yesterday's games likely make Tony Pike a 2nd to early 3rd rounder and Tebow a mid to late first rounder. OLB's will be few and far between in RD#3, but good ones exist in the first two rounds, RD#4, and in FA. Three possible directions to discuss, among many: OT, QB, OLB, then DT Something like Bulaga OT-Tony Pike or Colt McCoy QB-Dekoda Watson OLB-D'Anthony Smith DT. QB, OT, (OLB via FA), OG, DT --Colt McCoy/Bradford, Jason Fox OT, Matt Tennant OG or Mike Johnson OG (Sliding Wood to OC), and D'Anthony Smith or Jerrel Powe DT. (QB via FA and adopt 3-4) ILB, OT, OLB, QB ---Brandon Spikes ILB, Jason Fox LT, Jermaine Cunningham / Michael Morgan OLB, Jevan Snead / Dan LeFevour QB. Hearing your thoughts will help me submit Bills' positional needs to DraftTek Sunday night 9 EST. Current positional needs for all teams are here: http://www.drafttek.com/teamneeds2010.asp Thanks! Astro
  10. Looking at the draft purely at arm strength--the one thing Nix mentioned--I'm crossing off Tebow, and elevating Mallett (if he comes out), Clausen, Pike, Colt McCoy, and Perriloux. Bradford, Canfield, and LeFevour stay in my questionable pile.
  11. As far as I'm concerned, that game should help determine our RD#2 pick (still would like to see how the OT's do for a RD#1 pick). I don't expect it to be Tebow, but I fear that a good showing by Pike today means he woouldn't be there for our RD#2.
  12. All but a done deal, it sounds like: “If true, I believe a Buddy Nix-Marty Schottenheimer team in Atlanta would be a perfect fit,” Smith told the newspaper. “Buddy got along well with Schottenheimer. They socialized together, went out to dinner, golfed together, sat together on the plane, talked football all the time.”
  13. http://www.drafttekblog.com/2009/12/27/200...aft-junkie-wk2/ This gives you the players we'll be watching today, with jersey numbers and Big Board number. Happy Bowling, Everyone! Astro
  14. I hope we're recycling them. Use a little lime...
  15. Can't argue with these two picks out of the gate. I threw 'em into our simulator and finished the draft for you: 10 Buffalo *Rolondo McClain ILB Alabama 42 Buffalo Tony Pike QB Cincinnati 73 Buffalo *Nate Solder OT Colorado 105 Buffalo Dan LeFevour QB Central Michigan 137 Buffalo Mike Neal DT43 Purdue 169 Buffalo *Thaddeus Gibson OLB43 Ohio State 201 Buffalo Jammie Kirlew DE43 Indiana
  16. He's due. His return average is half that of two years ago (6 yd vs 12)
  17. http://www.drafttekblog.com/2009/12/09/200...unkee/#more-587 Here's the definitive guide for this year. I've added jersey numbers of the draftable seniors/declaring juniors this year, as well as where DraftTek ranks them. Enjoy! Astro
  18. I think we are one dominant DT away, plus getting our injured players back to form. I think one will come from the draft in RD 2 or 3.
  19. The psychic jumpstart by winning 2 or 3 of these games would be worth more than the improved draft position. Also, if we lost our last 3 games, we'd still draft no better than 6th, and I will bet you that's still too late for Suh, Okung, McCoy, or Clausen. If we won our last 3 games, our draft position would be ~10 or 11. Players still likely on the board there: #1 ILB Rolondo McClain, LT Charles Brown, possibly Taylor Mays, the best WR's, the best OG, Brandon Graham OLB, and DT Terrence Cody. Players could fall to us as well. There would also be the opportunity to still trade down.
  20. For the last 2 years, I did this for the Stadium Wall, linking it to my own website. It recieved a lot of interest. This year, I'm posting it on DraftTek: http://www.drafttekblog.com/2009/12/09/200...e-draft-junkee/ The link includes the name of every bowl, the teams, the times, the network, the seniors and juniors to watch, their position and jersey numbers, and their current draft position on DraftTek's updated Big Board. We'll update draft position and declaring juniors as we get them. It's a huge amount of work; hope you take advantage of it! Enjoy the bowl season beginning this Saturday! Astro
  21. Locker going back to school is changing the playing field, lowering the supply. Jacksonville ranks wide receiver and safety higher than QB, so let's say we're at #7 and Taylor Mays and Brandon LaFell are still on the board. Jacksonville offers their #20, #83, and next year's RD3 for the chance to move up. Simulating that scenario, 1 Cleveland *Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame P1Grab -18 Reach 2 St Louis *Eric Berry FS Tennessee P2 -1 Reach 3 T-Bay Ndamukong Suh DT43 Nebraska P2 +2 Value 4 Detroit *Gerald McCoy DT43 Oklahoma P1 -3 Reach 5 KCity Russell Okung OT Oklahoma State P2 +3 Value 6 Wash *Sam Bradford QB Oklahoma P1 +2 Value Jax takes Taylor Mays at #7, then the Bills get: 20 Buffalo Charles Brown OT USC 39 Buffalo Colt McCoy QB Texas 70 Buffalo *Stephen Paea DT43 Oregon State 83 Buffalo Matt Tennant OG Boston College 102 Buffalo *Quan Sturdivant OLB43 North Carolina This report was produced using Draft Tek's Draft Simulator: http://www.Drafttek.com
  22. With Locker returning to school, I'll bet Clausen goes 1st, then Seattle around 13 has to make a big decision on McCoy/Bradford vs. another position of need. That will pull Jacksonville's chain, as they'll end up around #20 looking for a QB that might not be there. It'll be really interesting if Buffalo wants to trade down to Jax's spot, playing Seattle against them.
