  2. Agree, Lori. This has to be a draft like the Jets' 2006 draft. They took D-Brick, then Mangold, and then and only then did they look at QB. Some other quotes of/about Gailey I like: --"Chan is an excellent teacher. Wherever he's coached, he has designed dynamic offenses to take full advantage of his players' skills." --Herm Edwards --"committed a league-low 15 turnovers" --"In 14 seasons in the NFL, he has been on the staff of 11 playoff teams and coached in the Super Bowl four times"
  3. In that article, Brohm reminded me that "He [Wood] was my center for every year I started at U of L so we definitely have some game experience together." If Brohm is in this mix for QB, we may be looking for another OG in this draft/FA and moving Wood to Center. I'm not totally sold on Hangman; maybe some of you can sway me. Astro
  4. The most interesting part was that Butler and Wood were only together out there for 2 games. If they bring out a Wood jersey, I'd get Wood!
  5. Our latest mock (which isn't posted yet) has Bradford off the board 4th, Clausen off the board 7th. We have to take an OT, move up, or move down. Astrobot DraftTek
  6. What Made This Possible was a Jets Offensive Line they built through the draft (Duh-Bricka shaw Ferguson, Mangold), and through intelligent FA signings (Faneca from Pittsburgh, Woody from Detroit). This is the FIRST thing Gailey must do. We have bookend guards that'll do just fine next year. Now we need bookend tackles, with at least one (and likely 2) being signed before the beginning of training camp.
  7. http://www.theredzone.org/NFLDraft/NFLDraf...yEntryList.aspx This seems to be the most accurate of those juniors (and at least one sophomore) who have declared for the draft. If you know of other names, let me know in this thread. Astrobot
  8. Two nuggets from your article: "Gailey is one of the best offensive minds in the game. On top of that, there are not many better people in the game of football. He’s the personification of class...." "[Gailey] didn’t like to call plays where the pass went over the middle and that he was conservative in his passing game approach." The most mobile QB in the Top 10 is probably LeFevour. I think Zac Robinson isn't accurate enough, but he's mobile. The best passers to the flat in the draft class is Bradford (before injury) and McCoy (before injury in championship).
  9. Classy. Sort of like graffiti. Best of luck on the Golden Globes tonight. For your future productions: "you're" is the contraction for you are, as in you're looking for a washed up has-been "I've heard that name" coach. "your" is the second person of "our", as in your future coach is still in the playoffs and you're not.
  10. That's almost an ideal draft IMHO. LB's (whether it's Spikes or McClain or the past 2 rookie MVP's) fare well right away, so get one right away. Capers is a great run-blocker. I wonder if Brohm is the real deal, but at least he was a Round 2 guy...
  11. I chatted with Chuck Cypert, who IMO is one of the top draft authorities year in and year out. Here's what he had to say about the DT's:
  12. Okay, I've traded our #9 to San Fran for their #13 and #17. I got 1 13 Buffalo *Anthony Davis OT Rutgers 1 17 Buffalo Colt McCoy QB Texas 2 41 Buffalo Tyson Alualu DT43 California 3 72 Buffalo *Chad Jones OLB43 LSU Better?
  13. San Fran takes him at 13, and he's a reach at that. Davis is a jelly roll short of being Mike Williams 2.
  14. DraftTek Simulator The Bills then choose 9 Buffalo Jared Odrick DT43 Penn State 41 Buffalo Selvish Capers OT West Virginia 72 Buffalo *Michael Morgan OLB43 USC 104 Buffalo *Jevan Snead QB Mississippi Then Go DE, OG, TE in the late rounds. Please comment.
  15. Cardinals +7 @ N.O. 1/16 4:30---------------New Orleans. Ravens +6.5 @ Indy 1/16 8:15.-----------------Indy . Cowgirls +3 @ Minny 1/17 1:00.----------------Minnesota. Jets + 7 @ S.D. 1/17 4:40.----------------------San Diego.

  17. I was just spying on The Jets Blog (http://www.thejetsblog.com/), and I noticed that on their main page they had a Hall of Fame. I'd like to see us have our own TSW Hall of Fame. If we had a HOF, I would nominate Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, and Bruce Smith. They all are from the same era, but it was our Super Bowl era.

  19. Since the last two drafts have had a linebacker be rookie of the year, at least defensively, if you want a player to step up right away, it should be a linebacker. Problem is, where we're drafting, it's too early for Sean Witherspoon at OLB, and just right for ILB. Brandon Spikes and Rolondo McClain could be there at our pick, and I'll bet my hat that one of them is. If you're comfortable having Poz move outside, then I'd go for Spikes/McClain at #9. If not, then take the BPA. Right now, before the senior bowls and combine I'd say that the BPA will be on this list--some will be gone from this list, but here's who I think could be in the neighborhood: Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame Russell Okung OT Oklahoma State Jared Odrick DT Penn State Brandon Spikes ILB Florida Tim Tebow QB Florida Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma State Anthony Davis OT Rutgers Taylor Mays FS USC Brandon Graham DE Michigan First off, Clausen is not going to be there at #9; if nobody takes him in the first 3, someone will jump up and grab him. Ralph won't be that guy. Okung would be a "Grab", and I think Odrick has something special, and a couple of the HC's we are considering want middle D-Line pressure all day. Tebow will fall but New England* will grab him. Dez Bryant could be the Larry Fitzgerald of this class, and the others, with the exception of Mays, are overrated for a #9 pick. Brandon Graham and the others you could convince me is worth a #9, but I'd rather trade my pick for a #17 and #49 if someone wants him this early (Graham at DE vs. Sean Weatherspoon OLB AND Marshawn Gilyard? No Contest).
  20. How R U liking this one now?!?!? This is one of the best games I've ever seen.
