  1. Great thinking ahead. Let's hope that Buddy and Gailey, Modey and company are doing the same! As soon as I have about 30 votes, I'll plug our choice into the DraftTek Simulator and we'll see the resulting choices up to Round 2, and whether Cody is there.
  2. No. The RB's that will end up around #84 are Joe McKnight USC and Anthony Dixon Mississippi State.
  3. 1 1 St Louis Ndamukong Suh DT43 Nebraska 1 2 Detroit Gerald McCoy DT43 Oklahoma 1 3 T Bay Eric Berry FS Tennessee 1 4 Wash Russell Okung OT Oklahoma State 1 5 KCity Rolando McClain ILB Alabama 1 6 Seattle Joe Haden CB Florida 1 7 Cleveland Jimmy Clausen QB Notre Dame 1 8 Oakland Bryan Bulaga OT Iowa What do the Bills do at 9 here? The rationale for Houston wanting to move up is that they have set their sights on running back CJ Spiller. Moving up lets them get him instead of Jonathan Dwyer from Georgia Tech. The rationale for Jacksonville moving up is that they want Sam Bradford. You're On the Clock.
  4. He's falling to the Vikes at #30 if you believe Bucky Brooks.

  6. Other anomalies include Rolando McClain falling to 15, Taylor Mays to #27, Kyle Wilson to #29, and NT Dan Williams falling to #30. If McClain or Williams fell that far, the Bills would be on the telephone.
  7. OT, WR, TE and RB have depth. Weak OG/OC and QB year. That's not a reason to forget about LT in the first round, or take a QB in the first round. It may be a reason to take the cream of the crop at LT this year, and pick your QBOTF next year.
  8. Could I see yours? I've shown you mine...
  9. Agree. Most teams have their QB on the roster. Those that probably don't (Cleveland, Washington, Oakland, T-Bay, Arizona, St.Louis, Buffalo, possibly Minnesota) are in the mix basically for 2 quarterbacks. There won't be a QB left for the Bills in my opinion. Take out those who draft behind us (Minnesota, Arizona). St.Louis-TBay will take Suh and one QB. That leaves Oakland and Cleveland. Al Davis will be attracted by QB-WR even though they should take a lineman, and Cleveland. Cleveland's DraftTek analyst has QB as the prime P1 need in this draft, so they'll take the other QB if Oakland hasn't. The good news is that leaves talent in our lap. If Oakland takes Bradford then Bulaga falls to us. If Oakland finally takes a OL guy (Bulaga-Davis-Iupati) which is their prime need, the Bills still have 2 very good OL choices (Bulaga-Davis-Iupati) , possibly Bradford (I doubt it right now), a 6-3, 327 Nose Tackle (Dan Williams), the best WR (Dez Bryant), the best RB (CJ Spiller), and a Gergia Tech DE (Derrick Morgan, who we feel is more of a 4-3 edge rusher). This week's Mock
  10. I still don't understand how he hides his unicorn horn, though.
  11. +1 I always am thankful for your optimistic outlook. I couldn't agree more. Here is our latest scenario, where the choice is between the most NFL ready QB, the best Guard, and a solid DT. http://drafttek.com/Round12010.asp
  12. I agree with you about Davis. The combines are going to push his pick spot past Williams. Davis has a chance to be a LT, as might Iupati, whose stock will climb. If someone wants a decent RT, Williams would be a good choice, but not a good first choice for the Bills. Capers...meh. He locks onto his man (occasionally too high for NFL), but sometimes is unaware of what the QB is doing. He also doesn't have much push in the run game compared to guys going later on this list, like Veldheer and Calloway. I like Saffold (see last game he played in) better than Ciron Black. Black could be a good guard, but you won't see him in RD2 or RD3 as some mocks say because he won't be playing tackle a year from now IMHO. Navorro Bowman totally disrupted Black in the Senior Bowl, and Black held way too often.
  13. You're young. Someday, you will have good old days to reminisce about.
  14. I would also watch the Saints to pick up a few, too. Greggo.
  15. Wholly agree. I've been happy with recent early picks; It's the later rounds that we will improve on. Hopefully Ralph stays out of it.
  16. Suh or flip-flop with the Bucs is what I'm hearing.
  17. Everything is an educated guess at this point, but our board is a synthesis of 3 draft sites and two guys who do this for a living. Here's what we have so far. Top-15 Offensive Tackles Round 1 4 Russell Okung 10 Bryan Bulaga 14 Trent Williams 18 Anthony Davis 27 Bruce Campbell 31 Charles Brown Round 2 Nobody Round 3 83 Jason Fox 94 Rodger Saffold Round 4 and Later 97 Selvish Capers 106 Jared Veldheer 123 Kyle Calloway 126 Ciron Black 152 Sam Young 157 Zane Beadles 160 Ed Wang
  18. I'm using DraftTek's Simulator to show you the results of drafting need (which our computer picks) vs value (BestPlayerAvailable) at our pick, based on our Big Board, regardless of need). Round 1: Need Pick: Sam Bradford QB Value Pick: C.J. Spiller RB, then Derrick Morgan DE43 Comment: Let's take Morgan here, even though we see him more as a 4-3. Round 2: Need Pick: Brandon Spikes ILB Value Pick: Sergio Kindle OLB34 Comment: Two defense picks start us out. Maybe should have gone Offense in RD1... Round 3: Need Pick: Dan LeFevour QB Value Pick: Dexter McCluster WR Comment: Need pick works for me, but a speedy waterbug receiver not named Parrish is intriguing... Round 4: Need Pick: Kyle Calloway OT Value Pick: Carlton Mitchell WRF South Florida Comment: Calloway is a huge reach, but the computer picks him here because we don't have a OT yet. High Value on WR's late this year. Round 5: Need Pick: Torrell Troup DT34 Central Florida Value Pick: D'Anthony Smith DT43 Louisiana Tech Comment: System has to account for something. We get the value and the need pick. Round 6: Need Pick: Lindsey Witten OLB34 Connecticut Value Pick:Rashawn Jackson FB Virginia or C.J. Wilson DE43 East Carolina Comment: I like McIntyre as our FB, and Witten would be good value as well as the need pick. Round 7: Need Pick: Chris McGaha WRF Arizona State Value Pick: Antonio Coleman OLB34 Auburn Comment: I like picking a WR this late, and we'd have already picked Witten the round before.
  19. I dunno. I think he's wide right. Jerry Hughes will go #44 in RD#2.
  20. Nope. 01/25/10 - Florida receiver Riley Cooper is setting his sights on the NFL, not the major leagues. Cooper, a 25th-round draft pick of baseball’s Texas Rangers, said Monday that he has decided to focus on a pro football career. He was set to receive half of his signing bonus at a scheduled physical on Jan. 17, which had to be put on hold while he was playing football. "Football’s definitely the route I want to take,” Cooper said. “Toward the last couple of weeks of the football season, I knew that’s what I wanted to do. That’s my makeup, my mentality. I’m just a football player not a baseball player.” --Source
  21. Schobel and Lynch to Houston for their RD2#50--I'm sure of it. Houston wants a RB and DE out of this offseason. Source Get Hampton for DT and you have the best Nose Tackle for 3 years. Now I want the best 3-4DE in the draft (Odrick) and the best complement to Fred Jackson (Tate). Trade Down to #17 with San Fran. They want OT and they like Anthony Davis. We get their #17, their RD3#79 this year and next. RD1#17 Jared Odrick DE 34 RD2#41 Brandon Spikes ILB RD2#50 Jon Asamoah OT RD3#72 Dan LeFevour QB RD3#79 Greg Hardy OLB Mississippi RD4#104 Ben Tate RBF Auburn RD5#136 Z Robinson QB Okla St RD6#168 Riley Cooper WR Florida RD7#182 Blair White WR Michigan State RD7Comp Nathan Overbay OT Eastern Washington
  22. 32-year-old Schobel wants to spend more time in Texas, huh? How about Schobel and Lynch to Houston for their RD2#50? Houston wants a RB and DE out of this offseason. Source Get Hampton for DT and you have the best Nose Tackle for 3 years. Now I want the best 3-4DE in the draft (Odrick) and the best complement to Fred Jackson (Tate). Trade Down to #17 with San Fran. They want OT and they like Anthony Davis. We get their #17, their RD3#79 this year and next. RD1#17 Jared Odrick DE 34 RD2#41 Brandon Spikes ILB RD2#50 Jon Asamoah OT RD3#72 Dan LeFevour QB RD3#79 Greg Hardy OLB Mississippi RD4#104 Ben Tate RBF Auburn RD5#136 Z Robinson QB Okla St RD6#168 Riley Cooper WR Florida RD7#182 Blair White WR Michigan State RD7Comp Nathan Overbay OT Eastern Washington Yes, I'm taking 2 QB's and letting them 4 of them compete for 3 positions and a practice squad. Yes, I know I'm trading Davis for Asamoah. Both will rise after the combine and I like Asamoah. Yes, I'm taking 2 WR's but I'm thinking that TO and Parrish may be done. Evans-Hardy-Johnson-Jenkins-Reed-White-Cooper. Yes, I think our LB's will have attitude!
  23. I enjoyed this. It made me look past the first round, that all is not lost if we don't get player X at #9. For every Bulaga we don't draft, there will be a Saffold or Veldheer who will solidify our O-Line. And for every Rolando we don't take, there will be a Brandon Spikes, Eric Norwood, or Schofield that have tremendous upside. I plan on seeing the whole draft class before I make judgments. Astro
