  1. This doesn't fix the O-Line. You're taking a Right Tackle first that you reached for. You take a Guard/RT in the third. You have 3 good Guards and 2 good RT's. Who's your LT? Cody will not be gone in the 2nd BTW.
  2. "The Patriots are set to bring in their first outside-the-organization free agent Monday when they host Bills wide receiver Josh Reed. Reed has played primarily the slot WR position in Buffalo but is flexible enough to line up in multiple positions, similar to what Jabar Gaffney did while he was in New England. Seeing that he has primarily been a slot receiver, he could play in Wes Welker’s spot until he returns to the line-up. The Patriots seem to go after players they are familiar with as opponents, like when they went after Wes Welker. With T.O. aboard, Reed had a down year last season, catching only 27 passes for 291 yards and one touchdown. However, he caught over 50 passes the previous two seasons, playing in an anemic offense. Perhaps playing in the Patriots’ offense will be the cure what ails him. I expect this deal to get done and Josh Reed will be a Patriot before he leaves Gillette Stadium Monday."
  3. With the new information coming in about FA LB's visiting, I think that BuddyChan is rethinking LB's as well...stay tuned...
  4. I just love Deep Within... Ayodele was the Fins' Man of the Year in 2009, was third in tackles, and would in all likelihood be ILB next to Poz. which leaves Mitchell high and dry and Spikes-Norwood less likely at RD2 and RD3.
  5. No, that's the name of the draft website that has us picking at 9, and picking a position for us that we're stocked at.
  6. Picked:_____________________________(Not Picked:____________________________) Anthony Davis OT Rutgers__________ (Bruce Campbell OT Maryland) Daryl Washington ILB TCU___________ (Jason Worilds OLB34 Virginia Tech) Dan LeFevour QB Central Michigan___ (Cam Thomas DT34 North Carolina) Brandon Lang OLB34 Troy ___________(Anthony McCoy TE USC) Mike Neal DE34 Purdue ______________(Shay Hodge WRF Mississippi ) Ed Wang OT Virginia Tech_____________ (Jeff Owens DT34 Georgia) Blair White WRF Michigan State_________ (Linval Joseph DE34 East Carolina) Nate Byham TE Pittsburgh____________ (Derek Hardman OT Eastern Kentucky) Kavell Conner OLB43 Clemson ________(Danny Batten OLB34 South Dakota State) I simulated a draft on our website and am posting the picked name and the most interesting non-picked player I could find. For example, some mocks have Campbell ahead of Davis, some would want a OLB not a ILB in the second round, some say we have a 3rd round QB on our team already and need Cam Thomas NT in RD3, not LeFevour. TE's seem not to be picked this year, and they have increasing value in later rounds. Teams seem to be set at TE after a "run" on them for 3 years. Would you take McCoy or Byham for sheer value? Note you can get what you need following either column, so if you like a particular player all is not lost by taking him.
  7. You forgot the ass-terisk. Where did anybody say anything about a trade with the *Pats?
  8. If they do this trade it means that they aren't in love with the choices at #9 for LT, or they're looking more seriously at another position... ...CB, perhaps?
  9. With a switchover to the 3-4 it'll be important to have Porter here, coaching up Maybin and whatever RD3-4-5 OLB they draft, continuing to ramp up attitude as well. Foote is a MLB, so I'd rather have Porter here.
  10. And if any of our QB's are on the highway, they'll miss you.

  12. John, I agree. We have Dan Williams going at #18 to PGH, Cody going last pick in RD2 to Saints, and Cam Thomas often our pick at RD3#72, but the latest one has him plummeting to KC at RD4#99. No way that happens.
  13. Teams To Contact: Schoebel (4-3DE Near Texas): Saints. Their DE43 Need is their highest at P3. HOU=P5, DAL=P9. Trade for their RD3#95. Whitner---(TwitterSafety): Eagles. Might be part of a Whitner-Parrish or Whitner-Lynch trade. Parrish---(Waterbug PR/WR): Cincy. Actually a better fit than TO for the Bengals. Kelsay---Atlanta is paranoid that J'Ville takes Morgan in the first, even though they signed Kampman McCargo---Colts. It happened once, it can happen again.
  14. If we're willing to give up the dream of drafting everybody we need this year (like a QB in RD3), Ben Tate would look awesome and a thunder and lightning combo with Jackson. We already have a RD3 QB on our roster--let's pull the trigger on Lynch for Tate.
  15. The more I've been thinking about the Bills' positional needs (which I submit on Sundays to DraftTek), the more I think we're looking more for OLB's than ILB's in the draft. Kavicka Mitchell would be moving over to ILB given his injury. We would likely take a stab at Mitchell's understudy after RD4, but not for the 3-4 critical rounds of the Bills' draft, where LT, NT, QB, OLB, RT, or DE will be taken, depending on whom you talk to. Surely Odrick, Sapp, and Serio Kindle will be off the board by RD2. The problem is that there are 2-3 undrafted ILB's at our pick in RD2 (Spikes, Hughes, Daryl Washington even Norwood and some say Sean Lee), even DE that are better than the next OLB (Jason Worilds of VaTech).
  16. Do we have a RD2 or OLine guy or QB? 'Cause that's what they'd want.
  17. Lynch has the most trade value after San Diego picks at RD1#28, but probably for a RD3. Say Miami goes with Dan Williams and Seattle doesn't take Spiller in RD1 (opting for Clausen). San Diego could end up with hoping Jahvid Best (ironically also from Cal) fallls to them at #60, but he's more likely to go earlier (our guess is #40 to Seattle). As soon as Jahvid Best is taken, Lynch becomes trade bait. If San Diego wants a good RB, one of their best options is Lynch, especially since they have a decent OLine and they'll see less "dancing" from Lynch. San Diego has other needs to address first (DE, CB) so it'd be good for them to trade their RD3#91, not their RD2#60. The Bills would be wise to take care of their NT-LB-QB needs with their own picks, and pick up a complement for Jackson at RD5, RD6, or RD7. San Diego might take RD1--Wootton DE RD2---Cook CB RD3 (Lynch) RD4--Hodge WR Buffalo might take RD1--Bryan Bulaga OT RD2--Brandon Spikes ILB RD3--Dan LeFevour QB RD3--Jason Fox OT RD4--Cam Thomas NT RD5--Sheffield OLB or Charles Scott RB RD6-- Schofield OLB or James Starks RB RD6--Linval Joseph DE RD7--Blair White WR RD7--Antonio Brown WR The other possibility is Houston for their RD3#81.
  18. Take $5M of that and offer it to Chambers. Better role model IMO, and this draft is deep enough to get a good WR late. My favorites in each late round: RD5 - Danario Alexander - Possession Receiver --think Josh Reed but 6'5", 215. Also like Freddie Barnes and Mike Williams of Syracuse RD6 - Blair White Michigan St. - Feature Receiver - Amazing 3rd down catches all year. My favorite of all of them. In this round I also like Riley Cooper Florida and Namaan Roosevelt Buffalo (although Roosevelt's legs are storklike and he's recovering from knee injury --4.5 forty at his pro day-- Buffalo is his home and in 2008 was #1 in the MAC for yardage per game with 100 with Drew Willy) RD7 early - Marcus Easley Connecticut - This is Don Beebe. Amazing (sub 4.4) speed, needs a good coach to help with crisp cuts, but you don't need to cut doing the fly pattern like Beebe. RD7 late - Chris McGaha Arizona State - best quality is hands, best game was against Oregon State this year: 15-catch, 165 yards. Over 2200 yards in his career ranks 3rd at ASU (Giants' Derek Hagan is 1st).
  19. The best use of this exercise is to see what is the greatest misfit at that position. For example, Mitchell moving inside makes sense given his injury (less space to cover) and given his good communication ability. What that changes in the draft is the Positional Need for ILB especially compared to NT, OLB and DE, which I see as a major need in your lineup. My recommendation when I submit needs to DraftTek would be to lower the ILB need to P3 from P2, keep NT at P2, and raise DE to P2. Any comment?
  20. Better news than Wilfork being extended. I think they still draft Dan Williams in RD1.
  21. When you take a player from Papua, Barbados, or Opa Lacka, you have some built in risks. This is my "SnowMan Draft" for this year. No Mike Williamses, no Surfer QB's, no guys who ask what snow is, or wind feels like. These guys will want to stay in Buffalo, brave the elements, practice outside. And many live nearby! Check it out, file it away. Some of my SnowMen --particularly Lee Evans of Wisconsin-- worked out pretty well. Trade Lynch and our 4th to San Diego for their Round 3. Trade Parrish and Whitner to Washington for a Round 3 and 7. These have been suggested by more than one draftnik, and it showcases a few more great picks! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Round 1 - Anthony Davis LT School: Rutgers Hometown: Piscataway, NJ - Has played LT since Sophomore year Round 2 - Jared Odrick DE School: Penn St. Hometown: Lebanon, PA - Can play inside and outside Round 3 - Rodger Saffold LT School: Indiana Hometown: Bedford, OH - Impressed at Senior Bowl, footwork is excellent Round 3- Dan LeFevour QB School: Central Michigan Hometown: Downers Grove, IL Round 3 - Ben Tate RB School: Auburn Hometown: Newark, MD Round 4 - Austen Lane DE School: Murray State Hometown: Lola, WI Round 5 - Mike Williams WR School: Syracuse Hometown: Buffalo, NY Round 6 - Lindsey Witten DE/OLB School: Connecticut Hometown: Cleveland, OH Round 6 - Doug Worthington DE School: Ohio State Hometown: Athol Springs, NY Round 7 - James Ruffin DE School: Northern Iowa Hometown: Burnsville, MN Round 7 - Jeff Byars OT School: USC Hometown: Fort Collins, CO Round 7 - Blair White WR School: Michigan State Hometown: Saginaw, MI UDFA: Freddie Barnes School: Bowling Green Position: WR Hometown: Chicago Heights, IL UDFA: Darryl Jackson DT School: Kean State Hometown: Red Bank, NJ UDFA: Zac Robinson QB School: Oklahoma State Hometown: Littleton, CO UDFA: Barry Church SS School: Toledo Hometown: Pittsburgh, PA UDFA: Alex Joseph ILB School: Temple Hometown: Stamford, CT UDFA: Rico McCoy OLB School: Tennessee Hometown: Washington, DC UDFA: Andre Neblett DT School: Temple Hometown: Rahway, NJ UDFA: George Johnson DE School: Rutgers Hometown: Glassboro, NJ UDFA: Bill Stull QB School: Pittsburgh Hometown: Pittsburgh, PA * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Other SnowMen not in my draft but worthy substitutions: (#=Player Rank) 14. 22. Brohm is a bona fide QB who needs a better line in front of him. Gimme some Tackles in this draft! I'd love to see Bulaga/Davis in the first and Kyle Calloway in the 4th. Hell, add Chris Marinelli - Stanford at RD7 #193 and Derek Hardman - Eastern Kentucky at RD7#200.
