  1. "Cram it up your cramhole, LaFleur!"
  2. Correct. And that’s a process that started the day he was hired. We are now only a quarter of the way through his second season. The culture build is still a work in progress. Luckily, he had some solid vets like Kyle and Lorenzo to lean on to start and now he has some younger, talented guys that he feels are becoming the core of the kind of team he wants.
  3. I missed the fact the Bills gave him an offer this past offseason. Can’t blame him for choosing the team with a proven QB. Not actually sure what his deal is, but heard him suggested elsewhere so I assume its a one year deal. And I have always loved Tate’s game. Definitely agree that McDermott would love his competitive edge.
  4. Good ideas. I posted somewhere else that I would like to see them target Enunwa or even John Brown. I have always liked Tate as well and would welcome a Chris Hogan reunion.
  5. Yeah, I don't know why some posters have brought up talent when it's not what he is addressing. The question he was asked and his answer is in regard to coaching, team building, and thus team cohesion/atmosphere. I think he is trying to say that having the right guys with the right mindset will be better for the team overall than specific X's and O's in the long run. Either way, he knows you have to have the talent to execute, just not lazy or selfish talent.
  6. Well I would think nobody is safe if he was willing to trade Mack. Also, who doesn't Gruden gush about?
  7. They believe they have their QB, MLB, LT, CB1 in place as well as a few other talented young players contributing (for example Milano, Johnson, Phillips). A lot of talent is still needed, so yes there will be significant turnover next year. Until then we have to deal with the growing pains of young talent.
  8. Preparation is obviously part of it, but as other posters have pointed out already, getting the right players in place is another large factor. The team needs driven, self-motivated guys, that love the game of football. It is difficult to integrate a talented yet lazy player into a team full of hard working team first players. At some point, things could fall apart if that player becomes a problem in the locker room with coaches or teammates. I think this philosophy is clear in the moves that McBean have made so far. A team with a strong culture becomes greater than the sum of its parts. A talented team with questionable culture can fall short. We are building the cultural foundation with many key pieces seemingly already in place. Next step is to infuse more talent.
  9. I don't believe he is saying strategy isn't important, just that a good culture - a WINNING culture - can overcome strategy flaws or personnel differences within a game. Take a look at the Pats*...plug in player X, Y, Z who may not be the most talented and they still roll along because they have had a sustained system and winning culture. That's where McDermott wants the Bills to be, IMO.
  10. I can get on board with this. Not sure exactly what his issue has been for Oakland...inconsistency? I know Carr likes throwing to him. I agree with the idea that all we could hope for in FA is a guy in that Tyler Boyd category and overpay for him too. Also agree that another WR should be added in 2nd-3rd round ideally.
  11. Hard to disagree after last week. However the plan in Minnesota seemed about right, so hopefully he can game plan and call plays like that moving forward.
  12. I agree regarding the drops. My thought right now is that Zay's problem is more of a "good" targets issue. I just don't know if that is an issue due to his routes, play calling, or Allen's decision making. I think as Allen settles in and starts seeing the field better then that should coincide with better targets to Zay.
  13. I think Coleman will definitely be leaving Atlanta. I don't see how any team can justify paying two backs good money these days and they just drafted another back this year to fill his role when he walks. He and Enunwa are the top guys I would be after, maybe John Brown too.
  14. I think he was referring to D. Johnson not being active this week if Gaines is healthy. T. Johnson will definitely be out there unless his shoulder starts acting up.
  15. Julian Stanford, obviously.
  16. If my memory is correct, then he was projected to go in the 10-12 range. He absolutely was worth it at 16.
  17. I think that's an extremely optimistic maybe.
  18. Well seeing as half the corners on the roster have been struggling with injuries to start the season, it's not an unwise move. Can't keep going in with only 4 active and having 1 get dinged in game. Especially now that Bush can't help out from the safety position.
  19. Bills 17 Titans 14 Allen and the offense actually find a bit of rhythm and do enough to squeeze out the win. Defense continues to play well helped by the fact Mariota and the Titans come back down to Earth a bit after overachieving to start the season.
  20. Hmm I think both teams win again this week but Week 6 Bellyache finds a way to slow down Mahomes and the Chiefs lose. So Rams are last undefeated team standing.
  21. Last week must have been miserable for him.
  22. Absolutely agree on Johnson. Hopefully he is here longer if he continues to play well and develop. I am of the opinion that you should draft at least one CB every year and I think McBean agrees. Probably going to be a mid rounder again, so who knows if the pick will be an immediate upgrade to those guys, but maybe they surprise us this year and end up being solid.
  23. I think Ryan Lewis has shown some flashes and should be the starting #2. I certainly like him more than Phillip Gaines.
  24. I get you. I'm not defending the guy. I just don't like seeing fans turn on each other with this petty crap.
