Completely agree. I never sense any kind of agenda and I have learned a lot of good stuff listening to him. Very knowledgeable and objective. Edit: As to Higgins, I don't feel strongly about him either way. I agree he's at or near the top of the "second" group of WRs and is great at some things and not so great at others. Hard for me to say though if those things he is great at are what the Bills are looking for specifically. So, I respect Joe's opinion and how he arrived to it, but if Higgins does end up a Bill, then I trust Beane's decision making process.

Am I crazy for thinking Ta'amu wouldn't be a bad option to come in and compete with Barkley for backup QB? I like Barkley, but he is certainly upgradeable. I believe there are a handful of (somewhat talented) guys in the XFL now that were suspended from the college program but still not NFL eligible.

Actually, I personally think NP would do all right in the XFL. The defenses aren't nearly as talented so his weak arm isn't going to be his undoing. He is obviously a decent X's and O's guy and a good teammate.

The more I read your posts on the topic the more I am coming around to the idea. Get that elite talent to allow the offense to take that next step. Free agency is going to say a lot about whether or not Beane is following your line of thinking. If DE and CB2 is addressed then I can definitely see Beane taking that big swing. We have the later rounds picks to package and move back up into say round 3 to mitigate the loss of picks in a trade up scenario. There's no way 6 Day 3 picks make the roster.
