Can someone fill me in on who this John Wawrow guy is? I noticed he got alot of play from Sully about the Evans trade being a Salary dump. I also noticed that both of them failed to supply a source.

Im a little worried about Merriman's condition. I was thinking it may have been a separated shoulder or something. He looked like he was in a lot of pain when he came off the field. When he went back on the field i could see a big wrap around his arm sticking out from his pads. When he was playing the KC left tackle had his hand high up on Merriman's shoulder pads and Merriman was falling back w/ incredible ease almost like he was falling in pain. I could be wrong. It looked as though the Bills weren't doing much pass blitzing. The front 4 seemed like they were hanging back off the line of scrimmage, giving the runner a start, and moving into the gaps as opposed to a hard rush right at the snap.

How does the Buffalo media whiff so bad on the Bills?
eme123 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The local media struck out on this one. Our local information sources are football retarded in my opinion.(Schopp, bulldog, sullivan, hamilton) They respond to story lines and not their knowledge of the game. There were very few story lines that jumped out and said the Bills were going to be better. So the local media ran w/ that. These guys have alot of access to the Bills practices, training camps, & pre season games that they didn't even use to give a fair evaluation. No one in the Bills locker room is surprised by yesterdays performance. This team may not go 16-0 but they sure as hell are not going to go 4-12. I think its easy to say they are 8-8 on the low side and 10-6 on the high side. Ahhh hell i'm drinkin the kool-aid. Give em 11-5. Go Bills! -
oooops How bout a link My link

Gailey expects to win and expects to make the playoffs
eme123 replied to TheBlackMamba's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This board is filled w/ people who have never won anything in their life and probably never competed in anything besides fantasy football. Its pathetic to listen to. Not to mention that i think WGR is taking Gailey's comments out of context. He was trying to portray that when he goes into a game losing is not an option. He wants to win, he plans to win, and he is going to win. Thats everyones mentality at the level of the NFL. You people act like Chan Gailey sat down, looked at all his opponents on the schedule, and decided that he should go undefeated. Come on people get off the guys back. -
Thats Genius!! How do you figure? A players value is a players value regardless of who else is on the field. Not to mention SJ was going to be our #1 receiver even if Evans was here.

I turned schopp and bulldog off about midway through training camp. I haven't missed a beat. Those two are uninterested in covering the Bills/NFL. I get the feeling that they are spiteful towards the extent to which they have to cover the Bills this time of year. They have an obvious bias towards hockey. -

WHY, WHY, WHY would Nix decide to trade Evans for any reason other than the Bills DONT need him. Nix is a man in his 60's who is here because he wants to WIN. Thats it. Getting rid of Evans gives the Bills a better chance to win. If Nix didn't think the Bills were committed to winning then he wouldn't be wasting his time here. The guy has had 500 yard and 600 yard seasons the past two years. He's useless on third down. He's useless against cover 2. You cant just throw it to him and expect to come down with it. Evans doesn't run crossing routes. He doesn't run posts over the middle and he doesn't block. He is the Hail Mary play in Madden football every freakin play. That doesn't work in Maddden and it doesn't work in the NFL. -
Darius Butler-CB released (Patriots)
eme123 replied to DanInSouthBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That would have been a great pick up for the Bills. We would of had to drop Justin Rodgers for sure. Butler has youth and experience. These are the type of free agents we want the Bills to pick up. As opposed to old sloppy veterans w/ well known names. -

The real reason why the Bills are under the cap
eme123 replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Try 38 catches for 578 yards. Maybe his 44 catches for 610 yards the year before was more impressive for you. We don't need Lee Evans!!!!! Any Tom, Dick, or Harry WR in the NFL can get those numbers ALOT easier than Evans did. The Only thing Lee Evans was capable of doing is waiting the whole game for a safety to cheat off his deep assignment and burn pas the corner. It shows in Lee's yards per catch 15.6. That's a nice number. It's not so nice when it 3rd and long and you need someone who can catch the ball just short of the sticks and make A play. When Donald Jones, Parrish, Easley or whoever cream Evan's stats this year maybe you will stop your whining. I can almost guarantee whoever are other starting WR is will have more yards than Evans just by wiling to do run the routes that Evans wouldnt. -
It's sounds to me like the negative nancys have been reading Mike Schopp/WGR's blog post. Everyone the Bills have dumped have been because of lack of ability. Hangartner has been atrocious against 2nd stringers. Evans was past his prime and totally clashed with what Chan Gailey is trying to do. (I love that the same people who are crying about the lack of O-line depth are the same people that are crying about Evans. Lee Evans one and only move is burning down the field. How was he supposed to get there w/ the so called krappy o-line) If they are salary dumping then why even draft Dareus. Trade the pick. Why pick up Barnett, Morrison. The biggest indicator to me that the Bills aren't dumping salaries is the way management and coaching conducts themselves. Why would guys at the age of Gailey/Nix stick around a situation like that. A situation where they are told who to get rid of and when they can and can't have money. Seriously, at their age they don't need the money, and just want rings. So why would they bother if they didn't feel the Bills organization was willing to do whatever they could to helpmmeet their goals. That doesn't add up.

Available O-linemen a.k.a. guys I've heard of.
eme123 replied to DanInSouthBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why would a guy like Waters at this point in his career even think about signing w/ a team like the Bills for triple the amount he would get in New England. He's made his money and wants to go to a contender. Buffalo is a dump town and he would have to pay a rediculous state income tax only to finish his career w/o a ring. On the flip side, why would Buffalo want him? We would get him for a short period of time for way to much money on the downside of his career. Meanwhile it would impede Urbiks development. This pretty much stands for all the "well known free agents". The whole point here is that the Bills should be looking for unknown young guys w/ alot of potential. Bring them in here for their value and try to develop them. -
Dareus Merriman & Bell hold the keys to 2011
eme123 replied to 8-8 Forever?'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All on Fitz. Our defense has some nice weapons but unless Fitz can keep control of the offense it's all for not. I think the O-line will be less of a factor then people think in pass blocking. The Bills want to get the ball out quick on slants, crossing routes, & screens.(no need for Evans) It's a qb driven league and the Bills will only go as far as Fitzpatrick can take them. -
Andrew Luck will not be the #1 pick. He's got a whole season of football left to go. A lot can happen and a lot will happen.

The Patriots are cheap! This is an obvious cost cutting move. They don't spend any money. Why don't they just throw in the towel for2011. -
Haha Marv Albert! I suppose its ok as long as he doesn't show up to the stadium in women's underwear. I can see the call now. "Brady back to throw.....(Yelling)....OHHHHH and Merriman serves up a FACIAL!!!! A spectacular move by Shawne Merriman"

I went to the game. I'm pretty sure i saw Troup break up a run play in the backfield. There also was a nice QB pressure in the endzone in which the Lions backup got hit and threw the ball downfield over the middle incomplete. I thought Troup was in on that. I could be wrong. On the state sheet they listed him w/ 1 tackle, 1 assist, and 1 Qb hit. I was watching the D-line early on though. The Lions were getting rid of the ball really quick. There wasn't any opportunity for pressure and the Bills weren't blitzing. Except for the one downfield throw.

2 years ago the KC Chiefs went 4-12. Last year they went 10-6 with basically the same team and made the playoffs. They are in a garbage division but if the Bills can split w/ the Pats and Jets who knows.
