I don't agree one bit. In a salary cap league it makes no sense to spend a boat load of money on an elite talent that is on the decline. I would much rather buy low and sell high than buy high and sell for nothing. Draft players that can come in, learn fast, and start within 2 years. They are younger, stronger, faster and will progress as opposed to decline. A team that gets in the habit of this will be a good team for a long time. Tying up all your money into a player that is regressing and taking opportunities away from the youth makes no sense.

Revis is a really good corner but refs make him great!
eme123 replied to EldaBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No question this guy get help from the officials. That INT he had last night for a TD was pathetic. Revis stood in the middle of Marshalls route. He put both his arms around Marshall and swung him out of the way to get into position for the interception. That was a digusting display of NFL football. -
WGR is covering the Bills right now. I thought for sure they would be still in post game Sabres mode

Is there any doubt we need a FRANCHISE QB ?
eme123 replied to Reed'scatch83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ralph is cheap. We should have traded the house for Rodgers, Brady, or Brees. They were all available I'm sure. Wait maybe we could have signed a FA qb. You know what we could have drafted Dalton. But we stuck w/ Fitz. We are doomed. I wish we weren't so cheap. -
I've gotten used to horrible officiating this season. I see a huge difference in the quality of officiating between this year and last year.

Seems to now be the Harbaugh / Schwartz thread
eme123 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why is Harbaugh running around like he won the F'n super bowl? Win like you've been there before. Shake the competitors hand and get out of there. -

My favorite Byrd play of the day was his blitz in which he threw his body into the Philly left tackle and got good enough push to get Vick out of the pocket. Then Byrd spun around and got his arms around Vicks feet and i think Vick turned it into a big play. It was an amazing effort by Byrd though.

He had a pretty big catch down the sideline on the final drive in the Raiders game.

Still Frames of Stevie's Catch
eme123 replied to Cotton Fitzsimmons's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The problem with the replay is that you can't see the ball because it was in Stevie's arm. Therefore there is insufficient evidence that it was a catch. Incomplete pass, 4th down -
***The OFFICIAL I've sinned against my fanhood thread ***

I'm here to say that I was correct all along. I've seen gradual improvements from this team since the start of last season. To me it made no sense to predict that the improvement wouldn't continue into this season. I saw NOTHING in free agency that would improve the Bills. I didn't see them beating the Patriots this year but I predicted them at 8-8 this season. This is not the correct thread but I'm not going to pass up a golden opportunity to say I told you so. It's as simple as watching the progress on the field and being patient. This team is getting better everyday and it started over a year ago. -
If There Is One Addition Needed To Bring This Team

The Bills are too cheap. Remember? All they care about is money. They don't know anything about evaluating football players. It's aweful. Everyone should be fired. -
Dual Topic: Media Attention & Marv Levy

Yes. Marv deserves some props for Freddie J -
Who th f is Littman. I'm so sick of people throwing names around on this site like we even know what they do or what they are responsible for. Brandon is in charge of the whole organization football & business. I certainly hope he has something to do with financial decisions.

Hello from Corey McIntyre's agent...
eme123 replied to Brett Tessler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Corey Mac is extremely under talked about and a great asset to this team. Thanks for starting this thread. -
I would always take the ball in the second half. The big reason is the chance to finish the first half w/ the ball and start the second half w/ the ball. That scenario would have the same effect as a turnover. On the road its a great opportunity to take the ball at the beginning of the second half because half the crowd is still at the concessions/bathrooms.

He doesn't know much then. All he saw during training camp and pre season was the bills suck/Ralph is cheap. Maybe if Sully took the time to watch the progress on the field and make educated assumptions he would be considered a premier sports columnist. Instead i think its pretty safe to say he's an over emotional fan who knows very little about the game.

On the field it looked as though they were applying Jaurons "bend but don't break" scheme. They were giving the Patriots the underneath routes in an attempt to stop the 20yd plus plays. Meanwhile when the Pats got deep in our end it looked as though they had a little bit more trouble getting it in. Welker scored on two underneath routes where he caught the ball well short of the end zone. Both of those should have been stopped in my opinion. Mckelvin took a chance and cut Chad Ochos route to intercept one. George Wilson baited Brady into his interception which took alot of intelligence. Florences INT was a great play by Dareus to get into Bradys passing lane. Scott was in the right place at the right time. Whenever a QB throws 40 times a game he is going to be vulnerable to INT's at some point. The Bills knew before the game started that Brady was likely gonna light them up. Great plan to take some perfectly timed chances and put our offense on the field more.

Aside from the score i didn't think the Bills were that far off in the first half. They dropped some balls and missed some opportunities early in drives. The combination of that and a dog fight with the Raiders incredible running attack kept our offense off the field. I really wasn't that worried going into the second half. I just felt that the Bills offense needed to get on the field.

Expect the Bills to draft 2 DB's next year
eme123 replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't want to make any excuses for the secondary but the Bills had 8 in the box on every early down snap. The Raiders used screens & play fakes alot. Its hard to play one on one as a corner and play the screen play which the Raiders used effectively. As a safety you have to keep on eye on Mcfadden until you actually see the ball leaving Campbell's hands. I think thats why G.Wilson was a split second late on the last Raiders TD. All in all the Defense was in a no win situation. The Raiders are going to be a really good team this season because they can control the whole game with their run game. This was a tough one for the defense so i'm going to give them a pass. Mcfadden and his o-line are so dangerous that they force you to stack against the run and play the screen plays all at once. This puts corners one on one, makes you vulnerable to play fakes, and kills any effective pass rush. With all those things going against the D we were still able to find a way to win. Thats amazing to me. -
Kids day at Buffalo Bills Stadium
eme123 replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's pretty smart on the Bills behalf to not allow the balloons. It could obstruct the people seated behind you. It's not so smart to give the kids balloons outside the stadium and not allow them to bring them inside the stadium. I don't think it's a reflection that they are poorly run. -
Source: McGee's injury "may be bad"

4 Cornerbacks on the roster is not good. Justin Rodgers is NOT ready to play in the NFL. I watched him in pre season and he was out of position quite a bit. I thought the intention for Aaron Williams was to play mostly slot corner and help in run support. Can he play the outside one on one effectively?
