I just cant believe people think "intentional injury" was actually a strategy on GW's part. It has got to be the fastest way to lose a game. You are never going to just be able to injure someone out of the game on the first play. These guys don't carry weapons. Football isn't the Sopranos. By the time you finally break a specific guys ankle or get a good enough lick on a QB to give him a concussion you would have racked up so many penalties the game would be over. Then you are subject to ejection, suspension, fines, etc. What bounty is worth that? If the intent was to injure why wouldn't Greg Williams tell his defense to throw cheap shots after the play. Hell, there is only a few million people watching its not like you can disguise it anyway. So why even try to hide it. The whole idea is stupid to me. If you claim that him talking like an animal was anything more than an an attempt at motivation that is rediculous. Especially since he knew it was being recorded. Not to mention the biggest fact of all.....Crabtree still has an intact ACL, Vernon Davis' ankles aren't broke, and Alex Smith never got hit in the chin. The Saints D must have taken GW really serious.

How many ACL's were snapped that day? How many times was Alex smith hit in the chin? If those players were supposed to take his words seriously then they failed miserably. Never once said the Saints were not better off w/ Alex smith out of the game.

The idea that he would want his players to injure others, take stupid penalties, and possibly get kicked out of games is disingenuious. Motivation is the only thing out of that speech that could be genuine.

What is unbelievable to me is the publics reaction to this whole situation. Greg Williams is motivating his team! The idea is to go out and win the game! In order to do that you have to physically out perform your opponent. Did anyone on the Saints defense actually hit Alex Smith on the chin? Did someone on the Saints defense purposely snap Crabtrees's ACL? Do you think Greg Williams REALLY wants his players commiting huge penalties in a playoff game. Come On! The idea of this game is to stop your opponent from scoring and score yourself. You do this within the rules because if you don't you make it harder on yourself. Greg Williams is trying to get something extra of his players here. He is saying things in this fashion that will get a response out of a 24 yr old muscle head. He wants to motivate but to think he wants them to break the rules of the game is retarded. Not to mention this tape was grossly cut up and pasted into fashion that makes it seem 10 times worse than I'm sure it actually was. Reiff is not the guy. Buddy & Co. are going to pick the best player on the board unless its Richardson. Reiff has a lot of questions as a starting left tackle. Its not a Buddy pick.

I agree with the OP. The Bills did a lot of shuffling last year at LT and always managed to get the job done. Hairston is a good young talent who got a good amount of reps last year. He's only going to improve in year two. I think if there is any area of potential need that we don't address, LT should be it. This is a good spot to roll the dice and go after other needs. We can always get a back up LT in rounds 3-7.

Why do people care so much if we get prime time games or not? I swear someone starts a new thread regarding this once a week.

Buddy does not like to give up draft picks. He has said that over and over. That being said if he ever did give up picks to move up it would be for a QB. Its possible the Bills believe that this will be the last time in a while they will be picking this high. Maybe they see this as an opportunity to get a QB. That and the lack of a quality back up.

If you really think clearly at this situation the best thing to do is to part ways with him and save the million. Two serious knee injuries is hard to overcome. Its near impossible for him to gain back the elite pass rushing abilities he had 5 years ago. We are better off trusting our young guys and letting them grow. I really liked the way he played at the beginning of last year. Again thats 5 games he has played in two years.

The key to our D-line this year is going to be Kyle Williams' explosiveness. If that achilles heals up and he can get some good work in this summer this could be fun to watch. Even if he loses half a step of quickness Kyle has always had a non stop motor and work ethic that makes him a load inside. I thought Merriman got really good push before he got hurt last year. People forget that he had some sort of Shoulder injury that wasn't disclosed in Week 1 against KC. We your talking about a second knee injury though. The Bills may decide very shortly that he's not worth it. I saw somewhere he's due a $1mil dollar roster bonus soon.

NFL Network (while discussing titans/manning) last night claimed that Bud Adams had canceled a flight to Raleigh yesterday afternoon where he was expected to meet Peyton Manning. I think he was headed to meet Mario. Nfl network claimed that manning was working out at Duke Univ.

Prior to today I didn't think the Bills have a chance at Mario Williams. I don't know what it is but I think he has to be the guy. Thats truly the guy I think they are targeting based on their honest answers on WGR this morning. I know there is a connection between Nix and Vincent Jackson but that is not Buddy's style. Pass rusher is the second most important position on the field and if the Bills are going to spend it somewhere i think its going to be there.
