  1. Exactly! As a football fan I never would have noticed if Aaron Hernandez or other 2% players weren't ever in the league. If you have a criminal record your out. Plain & Simple
  2. Wait, The gov't should be in charge of regulating debt?? Smart http://www.usdebtclock.org Flying J's debt doesn't mean much without seeing the full financial picture. Downgrading their credit rating is a red flag though.
  3. All hail to hockey. The draft was this weekend. Buffalo is a hockey first town. Football is second.
  4. I really don't like Sullivan. Glad I haven't read him in years. I wish I could say I felt bad for the NFL but I don't. This isn't just one bad egg. The NFL continually over looks suspect personalities and gives them opportunities of great power and influence. As much as I love the NFL I hope it pays the price one day. Football will live on.
  5. What the deal w/ Blackhawks? Should they change that one too? It sounds like it could be racist. I don't know anything about that term.
  6. This is the kind of stuff I would love to see in the Buffalo News. Bring some new information to the table about how the Bills match up with each of the years opponents. Report on the team from all sorts of different angles and inform the local reader. I gave up on Buffalo News but it seems that every Bills article was pretty much they suck, they are moving to Toronto/LA, they are capitalist pigs.
  7. I heard Beliechik showed Hernandez the best way to destroy video evidence.
  8. What is with Buffalo journalists and the Bills? It seems to me that you guys as a group have no respect for Chris Brown. I enjoy reading his pieces more than all of the local sports journalists! Yes, he works for the Bills. However, the Bills seem to let Brown free lance his stories with no special treatments. I highly doubt the Bills as an organization wanted Brown to write this piece. From a business perspective it makes terrible sense to come off as full of excuses before the season even starts. Tim Graham was all fired up about it on Twitter and your all fired up about here. Covering the Bills the past 13 years hasn't been all that great. I get that. For once, I would love to read something locally about the Bills that doesn't make me feel like krap.
  9. I agree. Russ Brandon has had a big hand in developing this franchise from a business perspective over the past decade. Its likely that he doesn't have the money but maybe he can develop plans for an ownership group. Russ Brandon would be favored above anyone else in regards to league approval of the sale. The Bills' growth in the southern ontario market is something that can't be ignored. At this point moving the franchise to Toronto would alienate part of Ontario let alone all of Upstate NY.
  10. Slime Ball doesn't do Marshall justice.
  11. The "N" word is not in the same category as "Redskin". There is NO doubt the "N" word is intended to humiliate individuals based on circumstances they cant control. Redskins could be considered by some as disrespectful but to others be honorable. Which is why I included the anonymous quotes. IF those people are indeed American Indians their comments speak volumes about the word. Thats two vastly different positions. We can agree that Daniel Snyder is a slime ball.
  12. If George Marshall named his team with the intent to humiliate American Indians then Snyder should absolutely change the name. Given his history (according to the daily beast) he may have coined the team Redskins to poke fun at Indians. That article is a little flimsy however. Im still not convinced the term "Redskin" is a racial slur. I was poking around the net and found out that in 2003 a U.S. District Court struck down an original ruling of Trademark Trial led by a very liberal U.S Department of Commerce. They used several grounds including this "that there was an absence of evidence that the term redskin is disparaging in the particular context of the name of the sports team" The poll that started this thread should say a lot. The feelings of American Indians should also say a lot. The below are just two examples of a majority of feeling from American Indians I saw on Facebook regarding the term Redskin. Anonymous Facebook Post #1 Very true. It was a term that came from the Native Americans describing themselves/ourselves. To us, when used with respect, it is not an insult. Native American's are a brave, hardworking and loyal group of people. For example, just take the time to read of the accomplishments of the Navajo code talkers. Just amazing... So proud to be a Navajo Indian. Anonymous Facebook Post #2 I am American Indian and love the honor of the Indian on the helmet of the redskins with great pride and passion of the Indian heritage history and legacy of the brave men and women before me and shows respect that we as people don't often get from others most people don't even know a real Indian and how we feel and think and we are disapearing on the real issues that American Indians face each day in America and most people don't care that we exist we are something out the history books but we are still here with our beliefs and customs and we love this land cause its our home and we will always be the first Americans.
  13. How am I supposed to conceal my Tampon?
  14. There is no question that a Washington franchise would see an initial spike in merchandise sales. A huge investment and gamble from a business perspective comes first. I still disagree that the overall value would increase. Im not saying their value would decrease to the level of a Jacksonville Jaguars but I would say more like the Houston Texans.
  15. Sure. Tell that to a perspective buyer. Im sure he/she would pay 1.56bil for the Washington "Pelicans" or whatever other pathetic idea they come up with. The buyer gets a different name, different colors, different fan base, a stadium with red & gold seats, and a long history dating back to 2013.
  16. The value of a franchise/business absolutely changes with a name change. Who would you rather own? NY Yankees or NY Mets? Same Market Same League/Product Different Brand Recognition (Yankees have years of tradition & marketing back bone behind them)
  17. It will be interesting to see how long it takes before Tim Graham slips and uses the "R-Word". Yes, Snyder bought the Washington Redskins. He didn't buy the Washington Pelicans. Forbes Redskins Value: 1.56 Bil Forbes Pelicans Value: ???? not even close
  18. ugggh man! I was so happy this guy was a done story. Now I get to listen to Brady, Tebow, Pats what ifs all freakin summer.
  19. He prolly threw up all over it.
  20. I've been anti Geno since the Pinstripe Bowl but I will say that evaluating him after OTA's is a joke. Give him a chance PFT. Look for a real story.
  21. He reminds me of no one. Which i think is good. He's Doug Marrone.
  22. March 2013 Congress Approval Rating Gallup: 13% Rasmussen: 8% Favorable Its pretty safe to say that what they recommend doesn't mean much.
