  1. i keep hearing about how saban is leaning towards pees (current LB coach in NE) as his d-coordinator.........but with crennel likely headed to cleveland, isn't pees a candidate to replace him?? why would he go work for miami and not stick with NE? or does belichek have someone else on staff tabbed for the DC job?
  2. it's really a shame we couldn't land jason witten in '03.......i loved this guy heading into the draft (along with many others on this board) and was shocked when he slipped all the way to the 3rd round (he was the top rated TE in most mocks and a 1st round prospect).........cowboys got a steal....... i think we're all pretty happy with kelsey's development, but witten defantiely would have had a bigger impact and contributed more......the guy can block, he can catch, and he can stretch the field........it's too bad we didn't deal up from our 3rd rounder (crowell), cause like i said, stud TE's are hard to find.........i remember alot on this board were hoping for witten with our first rounder.......
  3. i never said we should try to land a "stud TE" like gonzo/shockey/heap/gates because obviously they aern't going anywhere.........i would be happy with franks or becht (or pollard), i just wouldn't go calling them studs because they're not in that class and don't bring all the attirubtes of a "stud TE" to the table.....a "stud TE" is just not easy to find....... i'm all for signing franks/becht/pollard, but i wouldn't have a problem with then drafting a TE on day one if that position is "best player available"........gamechangers at the position are rare and if we have a shot at one, i'm all for landing that guy........
  4. i don't consider them studs.........neither guy can stretch the field and play downfield all that well..........a guy like franks and becht isn't going to change a defense's gameplan...........gonzo, heap, shockey, gates -- those guys are studs....... heath miller may be as well, but i think he'll be long gone before we pick......
  5. as for your draft picks, i like the majority of them......however, i would switch out nugent for a CB (i'm very concerned about clements impending free agency next year) and don't view WR as the need that you do, so i'd look towards more help on the DL in the 3rd.......
  6. who's this stud TE you have in mind? i don't see any available in free agency, just decent ones.......no gamebreakers......
  7. wanna see something funny? april 17, 2000 peter king's draft grade -- B plus (5th best) "Buffalo. Pick 89 overall, Corey Moore, will be one of those classic Bills picks (they always get a very good player after the first round, every year), the kind of player GMs will regret passing on. "
  8. NOTHING will be as bad as the '00 draft.......butler's last hurrah -- he really must have been p*ssed at wilson!
  9. unfortunately i think we're going to be looking back at the '05 draft 3 years from now saying the same thing.......
  10. i think if you did a team-by-team analysis of that draft you'd find alot of sh*tty ones........it just wasn't that deep a draft........
  11. i think the point is he wasn't a lower pick.......i don't know about you, but i really don't want to invest 2nd round picks in backup DE's who are good against the run and can't pass rush.......to me, that is a waste.........do you think that is good value? that being said, i really don't think it was that horrible a pick because it wasn't that deep a draft to begin with......we needed a DE, and the only one i see picked after denney that i would take over him is alex brown from the bears (4th round -- 104 overall).....he hasn't lit the world on fire, but he has progressed each year and i think he's headed for a breakout season........but if i remember correctly, he had some attitude concerns coming out of florida.......anyway, the pick is far from TD's worst and i agree denney doesn't deserve the slagging he gets........
  12. tell that to the guys who want jeff posey replaced........
  13. oh, and what do you sell?.........glow-in-the-dark suspenders?? haha just kidding
  14. i thought that guy was as annoying as hell.........loudmouth, big voice, wouldn't shut up and wanted to steal the spotlight at dinner........i don't think he'll last long with that style......
  15. i have a problem with it......he's only 24 and just needs to get his confidence back to make a legit contribution to this team.........everyone remembers what he did his rookie year and we all thought we had a player on our hands.......he wasn't ready to start in '03, and last year's injury didn't help...... more patience is required.......we don't need him to be moss or TO's -- just a dependable 3rd wideout who can make some clutch grabs on third downs......he will be that guy and his case of the "dropsies" will be all but a memory........
  16. the 4M cap hit is the remainder of his unamoritzed signing bonus....... in other words, bledsoe was paid a 6M signing bonus last year........2M of that signing bonus hit the cap in '04 (it then became amoritzed) and the remainder was scheduled to hit the cap in the next two years of the deal.....when you trade/cut a player, the bonus accelerates and hits the cap right away (before june 1st) or is spread over the next two years (after june 1st)......because bledsoe has a roster bonus coming up, the bills will cut him before june 1st if they are going to get rid of him to avoid paying the bonus, so the hit will all be in '05........ hope this helps.......
  17. "Fortunately, I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug, uh, regimen to keep my mind, you know, uh, limber."
  18. well, we'll have to agree to disagree on this KRC because i thought it was a horrible decision on trump's part....... you get "canned" for performing badly in a task.......can you say he performed the worst in the task? if he didn't perform the worst, then he didn't deserve to go, simple as that.......if he performed badly, i could see your point, but the truth is he performed better then most.........and that is what counts........
  19. all bradford said was "my actions speak for themselves -- i don't need any help"........the truth is he didn't perform badly, and thus, didn't deserve to go........i totally agree he was let go for no good reason..........
  20. you forgot one thing -- they never make mistakes either.......NEVER...... at least others are man enough to own up and say they were wrong about kendall........i'm sure TD and company would as well.......maybe then, and only then, with their blessing, would you see the error of your ways......... the results on the field speak for themselves...........believe whatever you like.........
  21. he would have resolved continuity issues on our line -- how could adding a probowler to our roster not?? he is better then tucker and smith, and he would have made our line better.......your blind if you can't see that.....he had a great year with the jets and he would have had a great year with us........ bart obviously agreed with me -- "I understand that you think TD screwed up by passing on Kendell (I don't think many here would disagree)" the fact you can't admit they were WRONG about this speaks volumes.....it's obvious they were wrong -- kendall had a pro bowl type year and we struggled at LG for half the season........you don't want a pro bowl season over revolving door at the LG position? do you realize how silly you sound?.......it's not rocket science -- they were wrong and he could have helped our line, solving our LG need (which is still a need)....... i've backed up my position with real information.......you say he wouldn't fit our team or scheme, and i made that sound foolish by pointing out he has been successful with three different teams in three different schemes.......but that's right, your position is if he comes to buffalo he would not be successful -- it's laughable.........real information? how about his probowls? do tucker or smith have any of those? is there anything TD has done that you didn't agree with? bah bah bah.......
  22. he went from the hawks to the cards for big money.......that happens all to often....... he was cut by the cards because he clashed with green and he wanted to make an example of him........kendall complained to the NFLPA about the off-season workouts, and green obviously didn't enjoy that and wanted to send a message.......dumb move by the cards (far from their first).......
