  1. well i think he's been their QB coach the past few years.........someone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.........
  2. funny enough, i've heard rumours belichek may take over the OC job, not the DC.........either way, i think it's a dumb move on his part to put either job on his plate........
  3. obie hit the nail on the head -- just because a team is over the cap now does not mean they won't have room come march 2nd....... CAR, WAS, NYG, ATL, and MIA could all make offers to jennings........
  4. 10M cap hit vs. 5M cap hit........easy decision....... just give the guy his long-term deal and avoid the headaches.........closer he gets to free agency, the higher his asking price gets.........
  5. i think jones will be franchised, not alexander........ and even if he does hit the market, i think he's out of TD's price range.......
  6. report today that the seahawks have requested permission to talk to scott pioli and permission has been granted.........
  7. ronnie brown @ 17? cadillac @ 23? i think you got your RB's slipping to far........this draft is weak -- they go early........
  8. at least we're off the "testicle story of day" kick.......
  9. nope, not suggesting that at all.......we could have signed milloy AND extended winfield........ brown could have been cut, freeing up plenty of room to resign him........ bledsoe could have been given an extension then, dropping his 5.5M cap number......... signing milloy and extending winfield are not mutually exclusive at all.......there were many ways to create enough cap room to resign winfield AFTER signing milloy........TD decided not to......... teams that MAY be interested, in no particular order: 1) SEA -- depends what happens with jones and their other free agents 2) SF -- plenty of room under cap now and defanite need 3) PHI -- if thomas walks they will need a starter 4) CLE -- have had major needs on the OL for years 5) WAS -- if samuels goes they could make a play 6) NYG -- they want to sign a new LT and shift petitgout to RT 7) NYJ -- might look to sign jenings and move him to RT 8) MIA -- saban can blow up the team and free up alot of cap space 9) JAX -- a lot of cap room 10) ATL -- falcons have room (despite the rumours), just look at vick's 05 cap number those are the only two guys i mentioned and that is all i was talking about.........AW shouldn't have left, and JJ shouldn't have to either.......you shouldn't lose any good, young talented players when your cap situation is as healthy as the bills is........ and like i said, doesn't matter what team i'm a fan of, if we let a good young player get away WHEN we have a healthy cap, i'm calling out the GM.......there is no excuse for it.......
  10. you're out of your element.....
  11. if TD didn't choose to not resign AW, who did? you can point to not having enough room in the '03 cap to make a simple extension, but why wasn't there enough room? TD is the one who assembled that cap and if he put more importance on resigning AW he would have MADE SURE there was enough room to do it......... cutting brown would have created more then enough space to give AW an extension, and TD choose not to do that....... restructuring bledsoe before/during that season would have created more then enough space to give AW an extension, and TD choose not to do that....... i could go on, but the point is there are a dozen different ways more cap room could have been created, but TD choose not to do that........ i disagree, as i do see plenty of demand for JJ from around the league....... i want him back, just like i want most good, young players back, and the way to do that is to get the signing bonuses out there early and avoid the lure of free agency before the player gets to close....... TD has chosen to NOT resign him, to let him get to the market, and i feel this is an error........the point is it was a choice by TD to let him get to this point......... so a good young player in winfield didn't leave? a good young player in jennings is not another possible departure? seems like a fact to me.........those are the players i was talking about, not others........ doesn't matter what team i cheer for -- if my team has a healthy salary cap and STILL allows good young players to hit free agency and walk away, i'm going to call out the GM.........i don't want to hear excuses, i just want to see good young talent stick around........
  12. http://www.gbnreport.com/scoutsnotebook.htm excellent article on great blue north draft report........ "Long-time readers of the GBN will know that we are proponents of the notion of strategic drafting. By strategic drafting we mean taking a look down the road at the following year's draft so as not to reach for a player at a position of need one year when that position is potentially loaded the next. And in what looks like a rather weak draft year at a number of positions in 2005, the concept may have greater import this coming April. Teams which are looking to upgrade at OT, for example, may want to consider passing on a player at the position this year when it looks to be a real down year for OTs - unless, of course, that one special player is available - and instead waiting until next year's draft when OT will be one of the strengths. Revenge of the big uglies.... As noted in yesterday's overview of the 2005 draft (see below), at one time, this year's draft was supposed to be the 'year of the offensive linemen'. That assessment, though, was based in large part on the assumption that most of this year's top juniors at the position would opt to enter the draft. Instead, a ton - both literally and figuratively - of junior OTs including Eric Winston of Miami, Winston Justice of Southern Cal, Marcus McNeill of Auburn, Andrew Whitworth of LSU, D'Brickshaw Ferguson of Virginia, Daryn Colledge of Boise State, Max Jean-Gilles of Georgia, Jon Scott of Texas, and Zach Strief of Northwestern ALL opted to return to school for their senior seasons this coming fall. Next spring, though, they'll all be draft eligible in what should be a rich year for OTs. The 2006 draft could also be the place teams add a quality C as there will be a number of top pivots available including Mike DeGory of Florida, super-quick Greg Eslinger of Minnesota and 340-pound Ryan Cook of New Mexico. The best of the bunch at C, though, could be 320-pound Kyle Young of Fresno State. On the other hand, the theme at this year's draft could be 'get your guards while they're hot!' as the 2005 OG class is the strength of a weak offensive line picture this year, whereas the position could be a weak link next April." this plays into our hand if you ask me, as we have a bigger need at guard then tackle (as long as jenning or a similar talented LT is signed)......we could most defantiely use more help at guard though........ rest of the articile breaks down other positions as well.......
  13. does that count for other "cheaters" as well?
  14. i think they'll be plenty of teams with interest in jennings and that he will command a 5M average....... why not drop MW's cap hit from 6M? it can be easily accomplished and would not be a reckless move on the salary cap because he will be here for many years to come.........there is no reason he should enter the '05 season with a cap number that high when the dollars can be allocated to improving the roster........
  15. everybody signs the f-tag, in time........he would have nothing to gain by sitting out the season........
  16. he confessed -- under oath, in testimony that was supposed to be confidential and never released........ if baseball tried to use that against him in any form, they would be sued....... how come no one wants to touch my questions about niekro and perry? should they be thrown out of the HOF and have their stats taken away? they both cheated.........

  18. i'm i the only one who caught "AVAILABLE" in big block letters? gross - nope ogden - nope
  19. first off, i read the transcript and kiper's spelling is a joke -- can't he get someone to type for him? but safety -- why do we need a safety over CB, DE, RB, and LB depth? i'd take all of those positions over another safety.......
  20. so i assume you want gaylord perry and phil niekro tossed out of the HOF as well, seeing they were two of the biggest cheaters in baseball during their time........ cheating has been a part of baseball for as long as it's been around.......vasoline, files, sandpaper, corked bats.......need i go on? "steriods" is just another way of cheating the game and no worse then the actions of many HOF'ers who found other ways to defame baseball.....
  21. exactly.........how do you prove any of these guys were using before testing even began? based on a book by a fraud like canseco? leaked grand jury testimony that should have never seen the light of day? you can't prove it, and as a result, they won't get touched.......
  22. or maybe he will end up the starting QB for the bills in '05??
  23. up until march 2nd, he was always jets property.......why do it now?
  24. 1) pace 2) jennings 3) jones jennings has 4 years on jones and will be a better LT over the length of the deal........i think jones' play will begin to decline very quickly, whereas jennings has not peaked as of yet.......
  25. vinny is a UFA
