  1. it always cracks me up when i hear how over-paid milloy is and how TD gave him a bad deal....... we need more milloys on this team, not less.......
  2. i think a lot of people are picking the jags because the jets look horrid........pennington's arm is still giving him major problems and martin is very banged up.......jags are looking solid on defense and probably stinging from blowing that lead late last week.......
  3. and on a related note, at least he's expected to play, unlike our highly paid OT.......
  4. i disagree.......willis seems very agitated......his "everyone has an opinion" comment is uncalled for and shows little respect for his head coach, who's opinion matters a hell of a lot more then "everyone".......
  5. joe horn gets no respect..........very under-rated.....
  6. Buffalo offense: 1) keep 8 out of the box -- this will not happen until losman hits some targets, over the middle and down the sidelines......a deep shot early on the first drive would go a long way to backing off the safeties....their secondary is hurting and needs to be challenged......just stay away from hall.... 2) establish the outside run -- falcons defense is not known for its speed and with a banged up brooking and struggling hartwell willis needs to get to the edges and turn plays up field....bills can't seem to open up holes inside so the playcalling must adapt..... 3) be creative -- screens and playaction need to be reintroduced to the playbook....as well, seemed the bills were known for tossing in 1-3 trick plays per game last year, but have gone away from that early.....dallas showed on monday night how a well executed flea flicker can deflate a defense.... Buffalo defense (assuming vick starts): 1) make the pass beat you -- vick has been horrible with his accruacy this year and will be missing his #1 wideout this week (dez white).....crumpler will see lots of looks as always so the performance of vincent, milloy, and/or posey will be key in keeping him under wraps and making vick look for his WR's.... 2) don't overplay vick's ability to run -- standard scheme against vick is to use the ends as "contain", but bills must be creative to keep enough bodies inside to guard against dive and trap plays.....after watching tapes of TB shredding the inside last week you can count on the falcons testing the soft spots of the line early and often.... 3) encourage vick to scramble -- make him test out the hammy early by taking away his receiving options and collapasing the pocket....much like in the seattle game, despite the fact he's not 100% he still has the intial instinct to scramble when the play breaks down which leads to indecisivness........find out what he has early and adjust the gameplan from there.......
  7. if the bills don't sign nate long-term and slap the tag on him there will be little money for free agency........they won't be active, just like this past off-season when there were obvious holes on the team and viable options in free agency were dismissed........
  8. translation -- we miss pat williams i know FFS has a hard time accepting this after his "spoke to soon" comments following the texans game.......
  9. yea, it certainly looks that way........after one freakin game against a rough looking offense!! give it some time.......nothing has been proven as of yet.......no need to pat TD on the back for this non-move with nothing to back it up other then 4 quarters of football and your own biased view.......
  10. there are a lot of hypocrites floating around here who rip the guy when he plays bad and don't make a peep when he plays well.........give the guy his due.........he played a good game and his team won.........
  11. jerman can play guard (well, at least he can line up there).......he would only go in if preston went down anyway.........
  12. there is no "overall conspiracy by TD against the future of the bills".......i never asserted that......he has a model of how he wants his team to look and how he wants to build it........doesn't mean we all have to agree that is the best way to build a team......plenty of GM's use different methods.......and many are more successful...... and his record of letting young talent walk in free agency isn't just regarding the bills -- it dates back to his days in PIT..........
  13. really thought he'd impressed and was shocked when left off our practice squad.........anyone know if he found a home elsewhere?
  14. will losman, mcgahee, and evans not command "beaucoup buck" if they live up to expectations? at some point, you have to start spending to stay/become competitive......letting good young talent walk will not accomplish that goal........
  15. winfield......when he wasn't resigned many on this board offered the premise "we can't pay two CB's that kind of money and nate needs to be paid soon".........well, here we are and now people are ready to let nate walk based on the premise "we can't pay him that money because we need to sign the big 3 soon"........the stances of some have changed as nate looks less and less likely to be signed long-term.......i just want to see good young players rewarded and kept around......they are the core of the team.........
  16. i love how the argument has changed from "we can't resign X player because we need the dollars for nate" or "we can't sign X player because we need the dollars for nate" to "we can't resign nate because we need the dollars for mcgahee, evans, and losman"........ i expect they're will be more excuses to not resign good, young players when mcgahee, evans, and losman see their contracts come up.......there is no reason we can't keep nate AND resign those guys if they prove themselves worthy of top dollar (as nate has).........
  17. so now you want to go back to work for the same guys you couldn't wait to get away from because you hated your job.......great plan, superb thinking there.......some people never learn........the word "interesting" doesn't come to mind when describing your life.......
  18. what?? seymour weighs 310 pounds.......that makes him one of the biggest DE's in the league.........generally 3-4 DE's are bigger then 4-3 DE's, and seymour is no exception........
  19. http://snap.stats.com/stats/nflinfo/player...p?yr=O&id=06761 according to stats inc., your numbers do not jive.........they have him giving up 3 sacks last year.........
  20. i never have mentioned gallery and henry in the same sentence..........please find a post that states what you claim.......... the browns being happy with shelton has nothing to do with your claim that the cards would get a 1st rounder for him in trade.........in reality, they got nothing.........your assessment of his trade value could not have been more wrong...........
  21. this from the guy who thought lj shelton would net the cardinals a first round pick........ given your horrible record in that regard i wouldn't be critisizing other posters trade value assessments......
  22. mcgee is an RFA after this year and denney is a bit player.........only one i'm worried about is nate........it's a shame to watch other teams locking up their best young talent and still see nate playing out the last year of his deal.......
  23. if that is the case why have over a dozen players entering the last year of their contracts recently resigned and decided to forgo free agency? the list includes big names such as: marcus stroud santana moss jamal williams todd heap duece mcallister anquan boldin domanick davis dan morgan rashaen mathis casey hampton hines ward
  24. i'll start it off....... wesley britt cut by the chargers........6'8" OT, 5th round pick back in april, was injured at the senior bowl which hurt his draft stock badly, hard run blocker who lacks great quickness.......i remember watching him with 'bama years ago and being very impressed.........could be a worthwhile project over the current garbage we have as backups i.e. jerman........ any idea if he's hurt again or is SD just trying to sneak him on the practice squad? feel free to add your own potential roster additions to the thread.......
