  1. much the same as last off-season due to fact needs were not addressed properly: 1) LT 2) DT 3) LG 4) CB (new one due to clements departure -- i have no faith that TD can get a deal done)
  2. tough to accomplish that goal when NO ONE respects the pass and constantly stacks 8 men in the box.......if our QB can't complete a toss over 15 yards why would they defend it?
  3. babineaux is contributing.......he is lightening fast off the ball and given the amount of snaps adams takes off would have been an excellent back-up in his mold....... don't forgot about marcus johnson and khalif barnes.......both we're taken within the 10 picks before us and we could have traded up to grab them...... and by the way, not EVERYONE had given up on reed........i said during the off-season he was going to surprise a lot of folks.......he has been unnecessarily critized on this board but he's a player........too bad he's going to leave after this season and blossum elsewhere........
  4. says who?? http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...ndpost&p=275678 here is my thoughts on how we should have handled the pick....... http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...ndpost&p=315915
  5. don't forget "i will give TD the benefit of the doubt on this one" and "who are you question a man who is paid to evaluate talent for a living".......if i had a dollar for everytime i heard that this spring, damn!.........when they ignored pat williams, when they failed to replace him, when they failed to address LT, when they signed bennie anderson, when we drafted a 2nd round WR, blah blah blah........ the "i trust in TD" mantra has certainly died down.....and the people who were behind every move back then are firmly calling TD out now for those exact same moves........how ironic.......
  6. Tom Heckert for G.M. and Brad Childress for head coach (this isn't tough -- i could offer 10 names for each position which are available and upgrades over what we have).....
  7. he made those comments AFTER he was rejected by TD.........sour grapes me thinks
  8. nope.........control........TD didn''t want a coach that would threaten his power like cowher did..........
  9. that's because we can't get consistant pressure rushing 4..........period
  10. careful, you don't want to be branded a "TD hater" by the masses either for stating an opinion........forget the fact the dude might not be building the team in the correct manner........at least you figured it out -- some people on this board never will it seems........
  11. you obviously didn't see the vikes game today.....pat williams was in the backfield constantly....... yes, we miss pat's play on the field...... even bigger, we miss his leadership.......that aspect of what pat brought to this team has been sorely missed on this board, both at the time of the loss and now.........
  12. i never stated TD doesn't offer players contracts before their out year.......it has been well documented in the past that he has done just that with numerous impending free agents.......however, i have called him cheap and this articile pounds that point home.......he tried to lowball first so mcgee and his agent told him to get bent.......now that he has a REAL offer they are listening and actually trying to work out a deal........see how that works?......players and their agents don't like to be insulted..... lowball strategy works occasionaly, but not very often......he could have had mcgee locked up at 3.5M per year last season, but he didn't have the balls to do it......now we're looking at 4-4.5M per year likely, if we can even get him to sign at all.......and you think this is a good strategy? a GM is supposed to be a talent evaluator, not a talent reactor......anyone can sign guys to extensions once they burst.......the trick is to get them locked up before their values soar through the roof.......
  13. how much time does it take to get up to speed as a punt returner? not much if you ask me.......it's mostly instinct.......if you can do it at the college level (as roscoe did) you can likely do it at the pro level.......
  14. roscoe practiced with the team last week as well, but didn't take any hits.....
  15. if parrish dressed another WR would likely sit down.......i.e. reed/aiken/smith
  16. i think your discounting roscoe's potential impact returning punts.......
  17. if fonoti is healthy he is a BIG upgrade over bennie (who isn't?) downside with fonoti isn't just his health though -- he's a free agent after this season.........
  18. i sure hope so.......draft is loaded with good LT prospects, with as many as 6 or 7 possible first rounders.......however, i don't have quite the same faith that you do in that the bills will actually fill this obvious need....... of the LT prospects likely around when the bills pick, who do you like?
  19. perhaps they want feely to back-up rivers next year?
  20. i'm with you -- i'd rather have a top tier DL then a top tier DB......BUT i just don't see anyone of the caliber of nate clements becoming available in free agency at the DL position........why? because other teams lock up that kind of talent and don't let them taste free agency.......you get the odd player who fits that description who slips into free agency (i.e. jevon kearse) but that is a rarity and when it does happen you can expect to over-pay IF that player even wants to play for your team over the 10 others that are offering him deals..........and if you miss out on him, your back to square one......continuity still counts for something in this league, and i'd rather retain TOP young players that know our system and want to be here over someone coming in fresh.....you deal with the cards your dealt, and we've been dealt some very good young CB's.......i'd love to see them stick around....... i view QB position much like DL -- good young QB's just don't hit free agency often.....if you want one, you better draft one, develop him, and extend him.....hopefully JP is that guy for us.......
  21. older players should be moved out and young players should be retained......that should be the priority, especially for a team that hasn't tasted the playoffs in years.......i want players who are going to improve, not decline.......a cap eater at the end of his contract is much more detrimental then a young player just entering his prime and the early years of a big contract...... as for shelling out pure dollars, wilson should be ready and able to pay (and donahoe has said in the past that he is and that is not an issue).......other teams find ways to retain good young players, and it's perfectly reasonable to expect the bills to do the same for their BEST good young players.......for instance, another small market in JAX recently made stroud one of the highest paid DT's in the league and locked up mathis (a CB very comparable to mcgee) to a long-term deal......if they can afford to pay their good young talent, why can't buffalo with mcgee, clements, and mcgahee? why are there players eager to sign extensions but these three players want to leave?.......
  22. so what do you spend your cap dollars on if not keeping your own good young players? LT? DT? DE? is there anyone worth spending on in that regard?
  23. if the bills want to, they can keep both........tiered bonuses are becoming more and more common due to the labor deal not being extended as of yet......most of the recent extensions have been tiered with the backend bonus much larger then the front-end........ the cap has plenty of room to accomodate extensions for young players if the bills choose to pay.......
  24. Rookie wide receiver Roscoe Parrish may finally make his regular-season debut on Sunday in Oakland. Mularkey thought about activating Parrish for the Jets game, but decided it was best to wait another week. Parrish has been out since breaking his wrist in training camp. "I think we had higher hopes earlier in the week," Mularkey said of Parrish's availability agaisnt the Jets. "But then I really started thinking that this is the first time he's caught passes and punts in really eight weeks. We haven't tested him being hit, we haven't tested him if he falls on the ground. I just felt let's wait a week and see if next week is a better week and maybe test some of those other things out." http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20051...?tbd1054105.asp i'm more excited to see him on punt returns then anything else..... question -- does reed, aiken, or smith take a seat?
  25. i disagree.......anyone (NFL player or not) is going to lose everytime when they chase two guys down the street who just beat their a** into the ground.......especially when their punching hand is already broken.....
