  1. looks like the NFL is shutting down all the sites showing the game
  2. ya, looks like the NFL got to them.......host pulled the page
  3. nice field position from roscoe........time to pound the ball a bit and eat some clock......need points on this drive
  4. would like to see a bit more a commitment to the running game with these elements
  5. not so good right now - picture is good, but constantly stalling
  6. i really don't think any of these names are surprising - 53 man roster means 8 guys have to sit.......they have to come from somewhere it's a damn shame that crowell wasn't one of those inactives today
  7. bills only had 6 LB's before the crowell injury - poz, mitchell, ellison, digiorgio, corto regardless, i think the better decision would have been to waive copeland byran (as the bills are carrying 5 DE's - only 4 of which will dress on gameday) and allow crowell to have surgery.....if things didn't look favorable post-surgery, that would have been the time to decide to move on
  8. if this is true (which i'm not 100% on) that would be ideal..........it would make the most sense for him performance wise (i.e. better for crowell's next contract) to return to the bills were he could easily step into the lineup and know the system........i'm sure there is some bad blood here, but crowell needs to play and play well to get a nice contract, and with his friendships on the team that might be enough to win him back
  9. the bills had an easy roster spot they should have kept crowell in - they are carrying 5 DE's and will only dress 4 on gameday...........copeland should have went and probably will before the season is out........very poor decision by the bills FO
  10. peters gained nothing in the holdout and cost himself by being behind in the new offense, losing face with the fans/teammates/management by showing that he only cares about himself, and dollars that will come out of his pocket to pay fines.........and, if he isn't in shape, he will cost himself further through injury and/or poor performance just because he held out this year doesn't put him any further ahead for a new contract............the bills will work with his agent to try to work out a deal this season, as they would have anyway.........the bills will continue to work with his agent next off-season if they still haven't reached a deal, like they would have anyway.........and if peters decides to hold out again next year, the bills will take the exact same stance again - show up and we'll continue talks/sit home and nothing will happen and you'll owe us somemore money.......bills have shown they won't be bullied into a new deal, whether it be this training camp or next........peters will have to abide by his contract until the bills are good and ready to give him a new one, which is exactly how the NFL should work
  11. who do you think these reporters get their info from? all that schefter is reporting is what parker is telling him, which reeks of spin put out there to save his own ass after giving some horrible advice to his client.......and that is why schefter hasn't cited any sources in his report........i wouldn't be shocked to see jason hire his 4th agent in the very near future, cause eugene dropped the ball badly on this one!
  12. which is the reason why the bills will make him pay every dime of the fines this year - so that if they don't reach a deal between now and next training camp, he'll know he's going to have to pay every dime of fines again if he chooses to pointlessly miss training camp for the second year running
  13. plax's deal has to be taken with a grain of salt - he had 3 years left on his contract so his leverage was significantly lower then evans' (ya hear that peters??) at the end of the day, we all know that if plax plays well he will just end up squawking about this contract in a couple seasons and will demand more upfront money......it's the way he (and his agent) operate........of course, if he ends up suffering a career ending injury or his performance significantly declines i don't expect him to give back a dime of his signing bonus - certainly seems that this is a system that clearly favors the players........no wonder the owners want out of the CBA
  14. if you want to drag someone over the coles regarding evans (which in my opinion is a bit premature anyway), then make it Overdorf - he's the one in charge of contracts
  15. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=6506 The Bills today announced that the team has added offensive lineman Brandon Rodd to the practice squad. NFL clubs may establish a Practice Squad of eight players by signing free agents who do not have an accrued season of free-agency credit or who were on the 45-Player Active List for less than nine regular season games during their only Accrued Season(s). A player cannot participate on the Practice Squad for more than three seasons. The Bills now have eight players signed to their practice squad.
  16. if he would take that deal i'm sure the bills would have it done in a flash.........he'll easily top that, whether he reups with the bills or signs elsewhere when his F-Tag number gets too high
  17. School: Virginia Ht., Wt.: 6-3, 250 40 Time: 4.95 BIOGRAPHY: Part-time starter who was used in a rotational system the past three seasons. Posted career-high numbers of 40/359/2 as a senior after 15/112 the previous year. POSITIVES: Hard-working tight end who shows ability as a pass-catcher and a blocker. Finds the open spot on the field to make himself an available target, exposes himself to the big hit, and shows the ability to make the tough catch. Adjusts to the errant throw, extends his hands, and looks the pass in. Strong at the point and does a solid job sealing defenders from the action. NEGATIVES: Blocks with a narrow base and struggles to get movement from run-blocks. Rumbles about the field and lacks speed. ANALYSIS: Stupar does the little things well and has potential for a team that keeps three tight ends on their roster. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/...ayers/5215.html
  18. http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/NFL/N...brook083108.htm Falcons sign DT Jefferson By PFW staff Aug. 31, 2008 The Falcons claimed DT Jason Jefferson off waivers on Sunday and released DT Tim Anderson. Both Jefferson and Anderson are former Bills. Jefferson played 20 games the past three seasons for Buffalo after being signed as a free agent in 2005. Anderson, who was drafted by Buffalo in 2004 and played with the Bills for three-plus seasons, played in nine games with Atlanta last season after signing with the team on Nov. 1.
  19. he never tested positive - he was caught with a few spliffs in his possession at a concert
  20. for those who like to play the hindsight game (i'm one of them) kevin boss would have been a nice addition to the lineup and he was picked after wright
  21. evans will obviously get loads of looks, but i think the other 3 will all see plenty of action, with hardy's role increasing as the season goes on......with the bills going with only 1 TE and probably only using the FB about half the time (maybe less) there will be lots of opportunities for the WR's i haven't checked to be honest, but i suspect that peters has been listed as #1 LT since camp started all 5 corners should dress and youboty/corner should see significant time, with mcgee and mckelvin busy with return duty......i think youboty has earned more time then corner as this point ellis will likely be dressed on gameday with copeland sitting (although it's possible both could sit) corto is defiantly a LB i think we are going to see plenty of dual returner looks from the bills, both on punts (parrish/mckelvin) and on returns (mcgee/mckelvin)
  22. i don't necessarily agree......i think people get so caught up in the "53 man" roster that they forget that you only get to dress 45 guys on gameday........so, for example, even if a depth WR is useless on ST that doesn't necessarily matter because he probably won't dress on gameday unless there is an injury.......and if there is an injury, he'll likely be not asked to play special teams but to assume that role of a quality WR because that better suits his skill set everyone just needs to keep in mind that players like bell, johnson, corto, and copeland probably aren't going to dress on gameday.......and that of course applies to injured players like fine, schouman, and murphy as well, making it less significant that they are still on the roster as well, as noted by other posters, corto is a LB now so the bills are keeping 6 there (as they usually do).......i'd expect 5 to dress on gameday
  23. you're not the only one: http://www.draftcountdown.com/sub/Mock-Draft-B.php in reality, it's a very good fit (if the bills can retain crowell or find an adequate replacement for him) in that the bills have been desperate for a gamebreaking TE for quite some time a starting C will also be a need, as fowler is a free agent and an upgrade should be sought........the possibilities in FA don't appear great (matt birk and seth mckinney only names that stick out to me) so an early pick there would not be surprising........of course with the C position a 2nd or 3rd can often step right in and do the job beyond that, the only real "holes" in the lineup are more depth positions - OL, DE, CB (if greer leaves), and WR the bills should be in a very good position come next draft and the goal of the next off-season should be to retain their own and extend (although with the new NFL, it's debatable how valuable extending contracts is!)
