  1. Disagree and agree. I think if all scoring plays are reviewed regardless of when it happens in the game, all would be scoring plays should be reviewed as well. The fact that it happened in the last 2 minutes makes it even worse. I agree on the bias. Can you imagine Brady running down the field with his arms straight up and yelling at the ref? There is no question that it would have been reviewed. Maybe Lee Evans and Joe Flacco haven't done that enough to earn the benefit of doubt.
  2. The Cal Johnson thing is completely different because he was going to the ground and you must maintain posession when you go to the ground. The telling thing for me in the rules states that when there is any doubt of possession and 2 feet, it's not a catch (paraphrasing).
  3. Do you have to make a football move in the end zone? I'm pretty sure after two feet, it's a touchdown.
  4. Guess we'll never know. The NFL doesn't review plays that would be scoring plays if reversed. Complete nonsense.
  5. It only works if there's a sepecific guy for a specific team. Like Atlanta going after Julio Jones or the Pats going after Jerrod Mayo. You never know who is high on someone's board, so it all remains to be seen. It could happen, but if Upshaw is there (he won't be) and he is your guy, why trade out?
  6. With a tremendous amout of due respect and without the normal sarcasm you see around here, I am not familiar with drafttek. What do "team reps" do. How do you all develop your opinions of players?
  7. Hyuge from Michigan. Adcock. Here we go again.
  8. Very well put. I never thought how many bad teams have great OTs. I still say pass rush...and then a DE. Our front 7 sucks. Period. Beginning and End of the story.
  9. The NFL changes every year. No one formula consistently works or all teams would look like that which did. They need a whole team. The trenches, the playmakers and the role players. I say you plug the biggest hole in the boat, which is stopping the run and slowing down Gronkowski. With all due respect to the great Nick Barnett, this team needs professional Linebackers. If you think the next Jumbo Elliott or Jerry Rice is available, you take him. But they better have a plan B to stock that D with some 250 lb playmakers.
  10. I 've had that feeling before. Turned out to be indegestion. The Bills will not be. "FA Winner" this year.
  11. He is working with a quality NFL coach for once. I am impressed by Alex Smith.
  12. Just watched 10 minutes of youtube. He was around the ball, but kinda unimpressive. His name is pronounced 'Keekly' FYI.
  13. I've never seen him play, but he sounds like a player. A bigger Zach Thomas? Safe pick. Sure Tackler. If all is true, wouldn't we have to be interested in a guy like this? http://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2012lkuechly.php
  14. He's playing for the NFC Championship. He led the 49ers to gme winning drives twice in the last 4 minutes. He's good. He's better thn our guy.
  15. Whitner is a good football player on a top 4 team. The rest is all bunk.
  16. Because Mike McCarthy says he is. Every time he is asked about Flynn, McCarthy says he's the real deal and will have a long career as a starter in this league. This from a guy who sees him every day, drafted a QB 5 rounds ahead of him, then kept Flynn over Brohm. I don't know if Flynn is going to be the next Kurt Warner or Rob Johnson. But how could you NOT kick the tires. He is a QB. We need a QB.
  17. He was very productive after he got to St. Louis. I'd stay there if I were him. Great young QB. Good coach.
  18. I think there are 3 HOF QBs playing right now: Brady, Manning and Brees. You don't have to be HOF to be elite. To me, an elite QB wins the game and doesn't do irresponsible stuff that may lose the game. Elite QBs sometimes look like rookie Ben Roethlisburger, Trent Dilfer or Mark Rypien. Despite not matching up to Brady or either Manning, Schaub could be a Rypien. I think Yates will hurt them in the end. The thing that we like about Fitz is the thing that may prevent him from being elite. Whereas Edwards was afraid to throw the ball, Fitz just chucks it and hopes for the best. He also misses too many deep throws.
  19. They traded Evans because his limited production was not worth the $9M and they supplemented their rebuild with more draft ammunition. I think your head is waaayyy over your skis on the Matthews thing. One has nothing to do with the other. Matthews sucks. He's a smaller, slower, less talented version of his father and brother. Same motor, but so what. Unless he grows his hair really long and that gets in the way of ball carriers, I'd be surprised if he was in the league long.
  20. JJ Watt looks like a stud. Dameco Ryans is a stud. Brian Cushing is a stud. Jonathan Joseph is a stud. And the Texans have some decent role players filling in the gaps. They also have that 1990 Giants style offense that can go far. Different blocking scheme, but it's all run /play action. Don't sleep on the Texans.
  21. Fitz is a guy who will chuck it and give his WRs a chance to make plays. If the WRs do not make plays, as ours didn't, the ball is just there for the pick. I'm not saying it's not on Fitz. I'm just saying he's a guy who will improve with better TE and WR play. He is serviceable until we get the defense respectable.
