  1. All that being said Bill, I hope they build on having a decent line and go for a dominant one. I'd love to see a bona fide monster at RT (pass and Run).
  2. Yep. It's bad when you are interested in said owner's obituary. Well, not INTERESTED, but know that the Bills' only chance is to knock the house down and rebuild it, including the owner.
  3. 4 tix, parking, food, beer. I assume $100/head is average. I haven't lived in Bflo since 88. But I was flying in for 3-5 games and did have season tix until last year. It used to cost me over $1,000 to see a game. If they are going to win 5-6 games a year, I don't care if they leave. I don't think it is reasonable to expect the good people of WNY (and Ont) to shell out $$ without occasionally putting a good product on the field. I don't think they will ever leave, but I feel no personal responsibility to keep them there. If it's entertaining to watch, I will. If not...... Been there.....OUCH!!!
  4. Excellent thread people. Bunch of solid points. I just look at SF. I think they're pretty much 1st or 2nd rounders across the board and they crush people. I think we're not done building the line, but with HUGE needs at QB and LB and Pears under contract, it will have to wait.
  5. So I'm going to go spend $500 to go see a Bills (loser) v Jags (loser) game in December and watch a comedy of errors in bad weather. I'm afraid when you're locked in to go see that show, the NFL has you and you get what you deserve. Why would they ever try to improve the product if the revenues are the same?
  6. It is sad that it deserves an annual thread. And I give those whom are going to the game a ton of credit. I can't imagine spending a cold day watching the Bills-Jags. I think if it's 36 degrees and it rains, it would be appropriate.
  7. 8-8 is a nightmare and a virtual certainty.
  8. It will simply take a franchise QB to make it better. The only existing shaky QB I would take a flier on is Phil Rivers. Other than that, our hopes are pinned on next years draft pick.
  9. Were those the Ferregamo years, the Matheson years, or both?? 84 and 85 were my 1st 2 years of season tix.
  10. Chan is like the Trent Edwards of coaches. He's been hit so many times, he's seeing defenses and pass rushers that just aren't there. He's over thinking and in vapor lock
  11. I guess I titled this thread wrong and that's what people responded to. But my question is: Why would anyone go to the game??? Some answered it. Even if I didn't give up my season tix this year, I would eat the expense and not go. I said unprecedented and I believe it. I think the stadium is half full at best. More likely a third. The Bills will message the numbers, but there's very little reason to watch this team in potentially bad weather against other bad teams.
  12. Brady IS Brady in part because the Bills are the Bills. If Buffalo had a decent team, maybe it's a Pittsburgh-Baltimore rivalry rather than a Globetrotters-Generals one.
  13. What bothers me is the AJ Green, Andy Dalton, Clay Mathews, Rob Gronkowski, Colin Kaepernick, Geno Adkins and even TY Hilton that other teams are hitting on that the Bills are not. The reason the Bills have missed the playoffs for 12 years is a complete failure in pro and college talent evaluation and it never seems to end. Who knows, maybe Gilmore and Glenn will be awesome.....but if they are, they will finish careers on other teams.
  14. Walter Payton....1 yard over the top. Same game??? I say that because I often refer to that day as the coldest of my life. I think I was wearing Chuck Taylors. Just awful.
  15. The Bills are like Pigpen with the cloud over his head wherever he goes. I would just put it ALL in Whaley's hands and say "OK ...what can YOU do". It'd be better than watching all these retreads shite all over themselves.
  16. That was actually my 1st year of season tix. It's one where they announced approx 42,000 attendance and you look around and say "riiiight".
  17. I respect that, but what makes you think you're going to see it at the Ralph?
  18. They could really use a corner. And maybe another RB. Seriously, see above post. QB and about 3 LBs.
  19. Why would he sell now when there's at least a possibility of a major tax code re-write? The Estate Tax is not going to get worse. RC's big tax hit is going to be an Estate Tax, not Capital Gains. Maybe he thinks he'll save his progeny ALL of the Estate Tax if he just holds on long enough for the new tax code. Then again, if he sells now, then he has $600 mil more in the bank. Aw hell I dunno. If I had any idea how to manipulate the tax code, I wouldn't be on this board.
  20. I have to believe the lack of attendance for the final home games is going to be unprecedented. I think you'll be lucky to get 50,000 people in the stands. My question is this: Why would anyone go see the Bills from here on out? Why would anyone watch at all??
  21. I find it tragically funny that there's a discussion of who should start amongst Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tyler Thigpen and Tavaris Jackson. The obvious answer is D. Only in Buffalo (or LA if the plan works).
  22. And also don't forget that Polian drafted Ballard in the 11th round knowing he was going back to school and got his right tackle for the price of a loophole. Polian had a plan and did what he needed to do to fill in the blanks. What is the Bills' current plan?
