  1. How do you account for Schaub? He's a 3rd rounder who was traded for two 2nd rounders.... I know the Bills must take a QB. But I kinda feel like they're buying apples in the wrong season and shouldn't pay too much. Other than Vick, Sanchez and Tebow, I'm wondering what other options the Bills have. If I'm a tarnished FA, I'm targeting Buffalo as a landing spot.
  2. I just did a quick count of current starting QBs in the NFL. Of the 32 jobs in the NFL, 17 starters were drafted in the top 10. 23 out of 32 were 1st rounders. The only true outliers are Brady, Fitz and Romo. The rest were taken within the First 3 rounds. I count Cassel in this because they gave up two 2nd rounders for him. I can't believe I forgot about Losman. Yeah, I left out trades. I figure if they were drafting well, trades would not be necessary.
  3. Nice Dibs. I may have designed at it differently, but I love looking at this stuff from different angles. I get hung up on guys like Schaub and even Matt Cassel. Each were acquired for two-2nd round picks, which is like a 1...kinda. Interesting stuff though. Who is the last major DRAFT investment at QB made by the Bills? Todd Collins?
  4. What's that quote from Wooden... Something like 'luck is where preparation meets opportunity'.
  5. The Bengals had a defense when they drafted Green and Dalton. The Bills need LBs and might need a NT.
  6. Oh whatever. He is Magoo to me. I'll leave it at that until May 1.
  7. Just when you peg a guy based on measurables, someone picks him later and is a genius. I can't say it should rule him out, but I agree that it is a concern. But Russ Wilson is too short. Montana can't throw. Flacco is too slow. I wouldn't just dismiss the guy. Is he a leader? Is he a gamer? Can he play QB? Do we have someone on the staff who knows what that looks like? More important questions to me.
  8. Keep drafting players who line up 20 yards from the ball and touch the ball or another player 5 times per game. That is how you draft 8-11 every year.
  9. Knew that was coming.....but they were at least decent QBs. Not saying they were perfect...but there IS no perfect this year.
  10. Dave Kreig had tiny hands and did OK. Culpepper had small hands. I dunno anything about Wilson, but I don't want any measurement to determine his fate other than CAN HE PLAY? I'd hate to lose another good QB because his measureables weren't right.
  11. The scout on the NFL Network said Geno Smith is the only sure 1st rounder this year, but others might get drafted in the bottom of the round. Didn't sound like there was a lot of hype on Nassib when I was watching.
  12. We will never know, but what happens if there's a call to be made between a shiny new QB and a linebacker and RB and Nix disagree? Do y'all believe Brandon will step aside? I'm not sure what to think yet.
  13. I like Wilson. Other than him, all are shining examples of personnel incompetence.
  14. Gee....bad track record. Give him a new title (backup). Expect him to succeed......familiar, no?
  15. I could see him in Cincy or maybe with the Jets circus, but not Buffalo
  16. The thing is: I didn't even come on this thread to talk about Nix. I saw a good WR from Georgia and commented about him. But I keep getting sucked into these discussions about NIX. I resolve to NOT discuss NIx or Brandon anymore. Until May 1 anyways.
  17. I never said Charles Nix only drafted from the SEC. God forbid Charles Nix draft someone from the Big 10 or Pac 10. And I have merely been consistent in my criticism of Charles Nix's job of assembling the current Buffalo Bills roster. I do not believe Charles Nix to be a good GM, or, even a scout. You merely have another 3 months for Charles Nix to show us how NOT to build a successful team.
  18. WR Tavaris King is a Bill. Played 56 games at Georgia and looks like the best WR in the South practice. Good routes. Good hands. Not huge guy though. Is it even worth looking at the North practices with Magoo at the helm?
  19. While I agree with you, I think you are overreacting. RB is doing what he should do (even though I think he'll ultimately f it up).
  20. I think RB is a joke as a team President. But he'd be an even bigger joke if he didn't do his due diligence on who he is going to make a millionaire and be the cornerstone of this franchise. If nothing else, he can meet some prospects and offer Buddy some insight....be a sounding board for the old coot. He SHOULD be down there.
  21. You are comparing the Ford Pinto to the Pontiac Aztek. Titanic to the Andrea Doria. Phyllis Diller to Bea Arthur. In the end, it just doesn't matter.
