  1. totally hear you. But even if you judge EJ ONLY on what he did from clean pockets, he was really bad.
  2. Marshawn is the same RB in Seattle that he was in Buffalo. You only buy low on valuable assets. EJ's value is in serious question and you have 3 more cheap years to figure him out. Why in the world would you throw money at him?? For me...it's the dumbest idea not proposed by me on this board.
  3. If the Left Tackle got beat for 5 sacks, you'd want him replaced. If you CB gave up 3 TDs, same. That's how bad EJ was the last 2 weeks. How is it any different? Everyone should suffer until we find out if this guy HAS a light that MAY go on? EJ was not alone in failing the last 2 weeks, but he was the leader and had ultimate control of the outcome. Next.
  4. Just to clarify: You're serious?
  5. I'd rather my 58% be further down field than 5 yards. Look if he was any better, he'd be starting somewhere. The question is: Is he better that the 19 QBR who LOST TO THE TEXANS last week. I think it's worth a shot.
  6. Tony D... Excellent post. Really well thought out.
  7. Mark Schlereth said tonight that he thought Orton was 2nd best QB in lEast and that neither Geno or EJ could play QB in NFL.
  8. Excellent point. It'll be interesting to watch.
  9. I'm amazed at your position on EJ. You should watch the games again. And maybe this IS the best thing for his development. Ask Kyle Williams and Fred Jackson how long EJ's leash should be....
  10. that Tebow thing was a different animal. I'm sure his stats were worse than Ortons. That's alright. Even if he fails here, I commend Marrone and the Bills for refusing to settle for poor play and letting the next guy have a shot. It sends a good message to the team, to the fans and maybe even a free agent who might play here in the coming years.
  11. I feel better about it today than I did yesterday.
  12. Orton never had these kinda weapons at his disposal. Maybe he can "Alex Smith" us to the playoffs..
  13. Well, you could tell EJ is not an NFL quarterback now and may never be. Orton has started about 70 games in the NFL. You don't get to 70 if you completely suck. So yeah, I'm happy they made the switch. The Bills will win the AFC East. They run and stop the run.
  14. No doubt. But Superbowl? Think about it...there's a backup QB in the league right now who played well enough to get his team deep in the playoffs. He's under 30 and was a former #5 overall pick. What in the world would they have to lose in bringing Sanchez in next year. When he sucked, he had absolutely no WRs.
  15. JUST STOP trying to make excuses for poor QB play. EJ has serious, if not fatal, accuracy issues. It's not the game plan. It's not Eric Pears. EJ has very little feel for the game. Period.
  16. The one that annoyed me was a simple 10 yard in by Woods where EJ hit him in the earhole as he was turning around. There was no pressure. No reason to throw it when he did or where he did. That spoke volumes to me. The missed check down to Chandler is another clue as to where EJ is at. Good breakdown by the way. I, too, would treat it as a bad throw if it's placed wrong, even if the WR had a chance to catch it. That being said, they need to catch that stuff.
  17. The opening of Purple Haze is playing in my brain. Bills fans are SO starved for success, even a decent team looks great.
  18. But he is an NFL backup QB who has shown he can win in this league. The only thing EJ does well is interview apparently. It seems to me that Marrone is being stubborn about this. He wants to show how his great coaching will put EJ in a position to succeed. He'll be nasty this week and point to breakdowns and drops, but everyone outside OBD can see that his QB just doesn't deserve to be on the field.
  19. And look at him now!!!
  20. Perfectly stated.
  21. I know you're pulling everyone's chain, but the joke has gone on long enough. This is where you say "HA...I can't believe you thought I was SERIOUS!!"
  22. BOOM!!! But I think the Bills will throw EJ to the wolves against a good Detroit team, they'll lose by a lot and Orton will start at home against New England. And that game might still be for the division lead. Quietly, the AFC East sucks this year.
  23. "EJ, you are good. You are confident. And gosh darn it, people like you". That oughta do it.
  24. Pointless, yet somehow satisfying.
