  1. If, IF Milliner drops to 8, it would be very good for Buffalo. Even if they take him, it wouldn't be my preference, but he's a top guy. How can Detroit pass on Milliner???
  2. I think your priorities are right, but it just might not fit this draft. The good thing about the Bills having so many positions of need is they could pick any of 6 positions in the 1st three rounds and look to fill a need. More than ever, they need to take the best player available. Even if he is a Guard, CB or S. I know they MUST get a franchise QB, but if he's not there this year....don't pick another Kyle Boller or Akili Smith.
  3. Nice!! I was gonna say "Yeah, what he said".....but that is so much better.
  4. Wrong Bowl game to be interested in.
  5. A late 1st and a late 3rd is NOTHING for a proven player at any position. And Byrd is better than just proven.
  6. You hand the card to Whaley and say, it's your call. Seriously, I doubt Buffalo would trade below 15, so the Tampa deal makes sense. Or just take Milliner.
  7. He still smells like fish to me.
  8. must not have made it through the analytics department at OBD
  9. What difference does it make, the Bills don't keep anyone after the 4th round anyways. As decent as the Bills have been in the 1st round, from round 3 on down has been nothing short of horrible under Nix.
  10. The NFL Network had a couple former GMs (Casserly and Tannenbaum IIRC) discuss the concept of a prospect "flying up the draft boards". They said it just doesn't happen and that's just TV talk. I believe that the concept of a prospect moving up or down is simply a function of the media learning a little bit more about what actual draft boards look like as we get closer to the draft. If Nassib was 40 on the Bills draft board in January, I would expect him to be within 5 or that number at the draft...for the Bills anyways.
  11. weird, isn't it?
  12. I didn't realize we had Hutch Eckerson....
  13. If the QB class is as bad as most are saying, Kolb will have at least 8 games to prove himself. I think he'll start the whole season (which for him, IS 8 games).
  14. I'm sure the contract and their handling of Kolb will reflect the Bills' own skepticism of his ability to seize the job for the next few years. If he continues to be indecisive, he will be gone. I read another article about how the Cardinals' offense had a lot of 7 step drops and that Kolb's ##s could improve with shorter drops and throws. I'm not optimistic about anything and will believe it when I see it.
  15. On the country, I would be shocked if he's picked by Jax or OAK. Floored.
  16. I totally agree on franchise QB. Everything else is negotiable.
  17. It may sound weird, but I'll get a better feel for the Bills 2013 prospects in Marrone's 1st presser after a loss. I want a pissed off guy with high expectations. Only time will show us what Marrone's expectations are.
  18. +1.
  19. #8 - Maybe - Any OT, Warmack, Cooper, Ansah, Austin, Eifert, Geno, Barkley, Lotuleilei NFW - Patterson, Mingo, Nassib, Oglethorpe, Jones If they trade down, I'd like to see Fluker or Eifert as a target.
  20. Gruden said "he's got size, athletic ability and can really throw the ball". I was excited until I realized that this description applied to Rob Johnson as well. I can't even act like I know about any of the QBs this year. I just hope they get it right at OBD.
  21. Thanks. Got tired of that battle.
  22. You're right. I was reading his rushing stats only. So Spiller and Austin had similar stats. I know it sounds like I'm huge into Austin's corner, but it's kind of in a Bill James way. Anyone who can be that productive has to be a good prospect.
  23. Spiller had 5500 yards and 39 TDs. 1500 yards less than Austin, but same TDs.
  24. As a stated months ago, Parrish had about 2,000 yards and 15 TDs over his college career. Austin had 7,000 and 40TDs. Talk about apples and oranges. I'm just thinking...just as with Russell Wilson...maybe you can't pigeonhole this player. The signs are there that he's going to be a playmaker in the NFL. He's never been hit and he's never been hurt. I wouldn't be disappointed with him. All signs are that this offense is going to be 3 to 5 step drops and you need quick WRs to make that work. It is a risk. I acknowledge that. But 7,000 and 40 keeps grabbing my attention.
  25. That, and that alone, will cause me to burn the JD Hill jersey and root for the Pack.
