  1. If he just would have touched him with 2 hands or grabbed the guy's flag, the play would have been over, right?
  2. I think you have to play just decently for 2 or more teams in order to be considered a journeyman. While Dareus and A. Williams would be #1 picks in a journeyman to be draft, they are not there yet.
  3. I had the bursa sac blow up on me after I fell and hit my knee on the Bball court. The ortho Doc. drained it and told me not to run for 7-10 days due to possible infection. I'm wondering if that's all it was. In fact, I'm throwing it out there that it HAD to be something like this and Week 1 is virtual lock. I felt like I could run immediately and IF it was just a fluid drain, EJ will be practicing as the #1 leading up to Patriots game.
  4. During the draft process, the guys on Sirius NFL Radio mentioned that DJ Swearinger was a hard hitter and might have to change his game a little to avoid fines in the modern NFL. When he says he hit low to avoid fines, I believe him. Maybe a few Dustin Keller injuries later the NFL will allow higher tackles again and put the flags and fines away.
  5. Good response. I guess that's why they brought Saban in?
  6. Pretty much agree with you. I thought PTR was talking busts in Canton, no?
  7. Oh...about 300 attempts and 1500 yards spread over 2 years, for a HOFer. I'm not going to hack on Spiller. I like Spiller. But I don't think you can mention HOF until a player has at least ONE special year (actually 5).
  8. I can't remember the last RB HOFer who played sparingly his first 2 years.
  9. Yeah, I think it's a $100 fine. Interesting thing...what if he never tests positive? Does an MJ violation, which is legal in more than a few states, count as a full-on strike to the NFL?
  10. Was Edwards our starter the same year we drafted Maybin?? That's a whole lot of bad football, but if it were to coincide....it's like the perfect storm of incompetence.
  11. Me neither....then again, there were limited opportunities for big kicks over the last decade.....
  12. Can I be somewhere in the middle? Seeing Hughes beat Kalil on the 1st play raised my eyebrows a bit. You can't help but be enthusiastic about seeing that sack and the chop fumble later on in the game. It shows aggression in a way that has been rare in Buffalo. Yet, it is preseason. I'm not prepared to call it a good trade until we see the relevant part of the picture (the reg season). Maybe Shep turns out to be a tackling monster in Indy (doubt it). Maybe Hughes peaked on August 16 (who knows). All I can say is this offseason is WAY more interesting than any of the past.....oh I can't remember that far back. Something always goes wrong in every game and every season. There will be plenty of ilk to go around.
  13. Mostly agree. But Rogers better keep up with Hogan and the others who play special teams or he will find himself on a practice squad. There's way more legit talent at WR than in years past.
  14. Maybe I'm alone, but the second drive (ended in fumble) felt like familiar surgery. Hesselbeck continued doing what Luck did and looked like he always does against us. But they did look better and more active than last year. I just think it might take a few games to settle in.
  15. EJ's 2 minute drill ended up in the right end zone. But I have to give Fitz credit for the drive and win against Oakland 2 years ago. That was awesome.
  16. If you ONLY saw the 1st quarter, who do you think won the game? To me, it was the Colts. I saw more "uh-oh", than "damn right". Regardless of who was in the game. In that view of the 1st Q, I agree with Dork....and I don't think he's being negative. The yards and T.O.P. heavily favored the Colts when the expected NFLers were in the game.
  17. I give us credit for the 1st series. The 2nd...Luck seemed to be very comfortable. I can't hold the turnover on Luck. To me, Luck on that 2nd series looked like Tuel in the entire 2nd half (save the "fumble"). He saw what he wanted to see, then got out. For the most part, the Bills did not dictate the plays against Luck and looked just OK against Hasslebeck. Now, if we could play against Chandler Harnish for 16 weeks, we'd be in business.
  18. Offense: Meh. Defense: Better ST - Excellent (but for Hopkins' 2 shank KOs)
  19. Dude, don't try to argue with optimism. I saw the game exactly the way you did. Our starters on offense looked OK. It looked Luck did anything he wanted to do out there. A timely fumble saved it for starters. Our starters on offense looked good late in the 2nd quarter against some of the other team's real players. But as good as Indy is on offense, their defense is in transition. As far as I'm concerned, Dorkington nailed it.
  20. It is nice to see some talent out there and think that one of these QBs might actually be THE GUY.
  21. The Bills were down after the 1st quarter and then our bartenders beat their bartenders. Am I happy that the Bills showed something? Yes. Am I convinced this team is ready to compete against better teams? Not by a long shot. But from what I saw, Butler makes this team and I'd REALLY like to see what Tuel and Easley can do against better competition.
