  1. Well, I think that "filler" opens up the opponent's playbook and slows the pass rush, but that's me. I guess we'll just see. I'm guessing 400 plus yards against, 125 on the ground. We are seeing 2 different things by the way. In the grand scheme of any defense, if you can't stop the run, I can't believe that's good. I don't think the Bills D can stop the run.
  2. You see KW and Dareus and think they can affect the play consistently. You see this front 7 as talented. I'm sure you think they will help them win on Sunday. Some would call it optimism. I call it delusional. Watch the Ravens, whose offense struggled last week, run all over the Bills...with or without Ray Rice. I know...it will be because Dareus is dinged up and Carrington is out. I like Lawson and Alonzo BTW.
  3. After the Jets....yeah, the Jets rambled for about 130, the front 8 were in the box stopping the run, while the back end was getting shredded. Congrats. You make an excellent point. The Bills 2nd half run defense was wonderful. So wonderful it cost them the game. How anyone could defend a defense that gave up 180 to a previously impotent running offense is beyond my abilities of optimism.
  4. I agree with your premise. The Bills need a big ugly makeover and need to STOP investing 3rd rounders in WRs who MIGHT touch the ball 5 times a game.....if they improve. I admired the way the Jets played D yesterday...except the penalties.
  5. Manuel was sacked 8 times and pressured all day. I lay no (NONE) blame at his feet. Colin Brown should be traded for a dog. TJ Graham is not an NFL WR and the OC and DC did their struggling players no favors by repeatedly putting them in a position to fail. Nah, EJ will be alright. I was shocked he tied it up.
  6. Yeah, I didn't even see the game. Just looked at the stats. To me, the Jets did what they wanted yesterday. They ran enough (150 yards ain't chopped liver) to bring the linebackers close to the line. And then the passing game was wide open. I am not fooled by a close score. The Bills lines got their ass kicked yesterday and that showed up in the run offense, run defense, pass D. The only reason that game is close is due to the Jets being undisciplined. The rest of this is optimistic and hopeful bluster.
  7. Dorkington is the only one who makes sense.
  8. Stop trying to find the bright spots. This defense cannot consistently stop ANYONE. The offense got their brains beat in and put up 20. The defense got gashed by the NY Jets. Just stop.
  9. 510 yards of offense for the Jets. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...........
  10. It's not just Colon Brown and Justin Rogers. This team is lacking.
  11. The Bills got gashed by Geno Smith and Bilal Powell. Need anything else be said?
  12. The rollerskates he wears on half of the snaps.....
  13. Don't even get me started on Kyle Williams. You know fellas....there's a reason the defense has been horrible. KW showed up well in his first year, but I fear injuries has robbed him of his game. You can't be a "rolling ball of butcher knives" if you can't roll. His best days are behind him. 1 Achilles injury is tough, but 2? Please tell me if we go half the season with horrible run defense, you all will look at our D line and consider how overrated they are. If they start shutting people down (doubt it), Ill come back and admit how little I know about football.
  14. Pat Williams was a beast the day he stepped on the field and that's why he made the team as a UDFA. He may have grown (literally) within his role to become an all pro, etc.. But I think anyone could see he was a player. McCoy was injured and only played in 19 games in his 1st 2 years (Still had 7 sacks to Dareus'11 over 32 games). If he's a fair comparison, he proves my point. I guess we just differ on the point. I think Dareus is a "sometimes" player and I don't think you can coach consistency. But, I know it'll take another bottom 3rd defensive year before the Bills start looking at their "talented" defensive line. Good start to that. I was being nice.
  15. Name 1. Great players show up great. What I'm saying is: he is what he will be. At times disruptive, but inconsistent and ultimately good at best. I just don't expect him to grow into something he's clearly not.
  16. Ngata - Beast right away. Suh - Beast right away. Pat Williams - Beast. Sapp - Beast. All I'm saying is the kid doesn't appear that he will be a game changer. He may end up being solid. I guess it just sucks that there was 4 perennial game changers drafted after our guy. I'm not throwing dirt on the guy. But I think Buffalo should keep DT in the "need" category going into next year.
  17. I agree. I just think if he was going to be a very good player, he'd already be a very good player. And he's not. At least not consistently.
  18. Great players show up great. They don't grow into it. While Dareus is not a bust, he's the guy we took instead of 4 great players taken after him. Those who are satisfied with that defense amaze me. It might be better than last year, but it still was far worse than average.
  19. But at that time...they weren't throwbacks....
  20. The refs might have rescued the Bills and gave them a better chance to win, but the stats tell me the Bills got their ass kicked worse than the score indicated. For all the decent pressure they got on Brady and the few stops they made, the Bills as a team yielded about 500 yards. The defense needs to make more stops and get off the field.
  21. The Bills have never won in throwback uniforms. Of course that's just my memory and I might be confusing them with the regular uniforms.
  22. Johnny Adams. All Big Ten cb. Already on roster. Marrone said they would like to use someone who's already here. He's your guy. Cut a DT for a week and bring him back after Hopkins is healthy.
  23. You'll drive yourselves crazy bitching about the refs. When the Bills were good, they got the calls. Refs are human. They are used to seeing good teams doing good things and vice versa. Nothing the refs did decided that game.
